  1. Well done Roger, I have to admit that 29 across was a bit tenuous. I originally had another word there, but discounted it for a reason I forget. 27 down would have caused me to head for Google - I've learned a lot a trivia trying to find those final few words to complete these crosswords. Big thanks to MaryAnne for posting the PDF versions. They're set to US Letter sized paper, but print fine if you're on European A4.
  2. See what you mean Jami Lee. Is a Hoss close enough?.
  3. I've not seen it for over a year - I will be watching it in the next day or so, and get back to you. Incidentally, the twins (Cindy and Sandy) were played by Randi and Candi Brough who also appeared as Francee and Floralee in 'Arrest Jesse Duke' in season 2.
  4. Season 6, episode 9 - I'm 3 eps away from it - just watched 'Boss Behind Bars'.
  5. You hit the nail on the head there Garrett.
  6. I was going to follow up my crosswords with some Dukes related anagrams, but the best I got for 'Dukes of Hazzard' was 'Soaked hard fuzz'. Then I started entering HazzardNet members' names into the online anagram finder. Here's some to start you off - are you in there?. If you're not there, sorry, some names don't lend themselves (mine included), and others may have been overlooked in this first set. Obviously any numbers and punctuation in names have been ignored. Please post replies with any you manage to solve. Our red keg Woman fumed Retro cannibal Ye carnal ornament (full name used) Bald porn vet Print overload Raked gutter Eyed a dunk Grand peon A home jiggle Muse bad joke See midday auk My leaky duel Crack den pet No axle jacks Some names have several good anagrams - I may post more if this proves popular.
  7. Just check that you haven't got a WWII surplus Enigma machine - the complex transposition of letters could make the crossword very difficult:).
  8. There were indeed some '76 Hazzard patrol cars as this picture shows (not my grab, so I don't know which episode).: I notice these 2 don't seem to have the trim running along the fenders and doors like your one does. I think most of the time they just had the trim removed from the front doors to allow the badges to go on flat. A lot of the bad guys also drove '76s, especially around season 4 - I guess they bought loads of ex-police cars and mainly used the '77s and '78s for Hazzard cars. By the end of season 5/start of season 6 the bad guys had switched to favoring Chevy Malibus.
  9. With one of the black wigs Boss also tries a matching moustache. Spookily, Boss in the gray wig keeps reminding me of a boss I had many years ago. Thanks for being the first to vote MaryAnne, it looks like Black/Gray has it at the moment:).
  10. Should have got this one a bit sooner. Did anyone look really closely at the top of the last Google map? - there's a place just across the border in Oregon called Bonanza:).
  11. Did a bit of research on 'Three is my Lucky number' - the relevant scene is on YouTube: One of the comments identified the artist as Billy Milo. Here's his website: http://www.billymilo.com/ - the song you want is the 3rd or 4th if you let them play through. His album 'Country Up In Heaven' is on iTunes: http://itunes.apple.com/se/album/country-up-in-heaven/id344107021 or Amazon (MP3 or CD-R): http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00342W2XY/ref=dm_dp_cdp?ie=UTF8&s=music
  12. You obviously love Waylon Jennings and Charlie Daniels (you mentioned Charlie on post #1). Maybe we should try to avoid repetition to keep us on our toes:).
  13. Dare I suggest you try watching hurling?. A true Irish sport where the ball can travel at over 90 mph - makes other sports look slow.
  14. This map is from near the start of 'Double Dukes' in season 4. It was not as clear as the previous maps and also harder because so much of it was written on by hand, obscuring the original detail. Possibly some of you will recognise it straight away - I didn't. I convinced myself that the town at the bottom, roughly midway between the two thick lines, was 'Paradise'. The highway number between 'NTY' and 'TEVILLE' is a single digit and likely to be odd as the highway is running north-south. Luckily I tried Highway 5 first which took me to just north of Sacramento. So Colonial City is actually Redding, CA. Below is the long shot with the actual map next to it.
  15. Supercars are auctioning a rare (only 8 made) 1:18 dirty 22ct gold model of General Lee on eBay. http://cgi.ebay.com/1969-GENERAL-LEE-CHARGER-1-18-Gold-Plated-1-8-/260642294899?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Diecast_Vehicles&hash=item3caf7dcc73 Get in quick - the auction ends August 11th. Just so you know - last year they auctioned 2 equally rare clean 22ct gold Generals which went for about €1500 a piece. In case you read this after the auction finishes - here's what you missed:
  16. Another US sport I don't get to see. I wouldn't have seen any this year if it weren't for the YouTube video of Brian Kownacki's acrobatics a few months back.
  17. You disappoint me Roger - I can't believe there's a piece of trivia you can't remember:). I'll put you out of your misery - it was ' Witness for the Persecution' from season 2. Looks like as well as spelling Jesse wrong they couldn't even be bothered to fill the dates in.
  18. The mis-spelling of Rosco's name on the banner in 'One Armed Bandits' was mentioned in the Ask Jimmie forum, but I can't find any mention of this one from 'Welcome Back, Bo 'n' Luke'.
  19. I know - it's been a while. I found it while I was looking for something else and then searched to see where it was mentioned on HNet. Sadly I didn't get to see it live (I had already left London to live in Ireland by then), but did watch the original showing on the BBC. From scanning the threads that mention the show, it seems that in the US, only people with BBC America got to see the whole show. The links that had been posted were just to clips, and none of the ones I tried seemed to work anymore. I'm still kinda new here, so I've been reading through loads of the old threads, and reviving them if I've got something new to add.
  20. All the threads that mention this show seem to have dead video links, so when I found it on YouTube I thought I'd post a link to it here - the full show is there in several parts. As RogerDuke mentions in another thread, the show is not suitable for children as its topics and humor are somewhat risque. ETA: The link I posted in 2010 is now dead . BoJamesDuke, do you appear on screen at any point?. Are you prepared to point yourself out if you do?.
  21. I found this from a 1953 'I Love Lucy'. The full episode (Lucy is Matchmaker) is available in 3 parts, but Peggy is only in part 1. She appeared in 4 episodes of season 2, this being the last. According to IMDb 'I Love Lucy' was her first tv/film role. I Love Lucy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mqyww9f0Ewk Peggy Rea on IMDb http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0713762/
  22. I was doing my regular daily online crossword today and I got the clue 'Noblemen (5)' - of course, the answer had to be 'Dukes'.
  23. That's a real possibility Roger. Of course 'Crazy' was another big hit for Patsy Cline.
  24. This one's from 'Enos in Trouble' - don't think we've had it before. When we first see the bad guys watching Enos's footlocker Waylon says: "There's two faces that only a mother could love, and I bet neither one of them had one."
