  1. It's never good to disagree with MaryAnne, especially when she's right . Here's Cathy in the movie (new question below): Sticking with Dukes cast members in other roles: Q. Which regular cast members appeared in 'The Waltons'?.
  2. wonderful As in 'There is nothing quite as wonderful as money' from Monty Python's 'Money Song'.

  8. I'll leave my original question open to see if the others agree with you or not. To answer your question, MaryAnne, I missed the first half hour when they showed it the other night, so I had to look it up. The Burt Reynolds quote is from the first 'Cannonball Run' (1981). You can see it at about 9:28 in this video: The Cannonball Run (1981) part 1/7 There are a few '81 Trans-Ams in the first movie that you're sure to like, including these two police cars: Looks like Rosco's lightbar on the blue one, but we're getting off topic now .

  10. Sorry General, I was away from the computer last night, but waikiki stepped in with the right answer. I've previously posted screengrabs from both in relevant sections of HNet: Sorrell Pics From Before Dukes Pics of Rick in M*A*S*H Another question about cast members in other projects today (only because the movie was on a couple of nights ago ). Q. John Schneider made a brief appearance in the 1989 movie 'Speed Zone' aka. 'Cannonball Fever', but which one of the regular Dukes cast appeared in the 1984 movie 'Cannonball Run II'?.

  13. I completely forgot Terry Pratchett. It's been ages since I read a Discworld novel. I liked Mort where Death always speaks in capital letters and has a horse called Binky.

  15. set (for such a short word, it has one of the longest dictionary entries)
  16. I don't read a lot of fiction. If I do pick up a book, it's likely to be a biography or a book about WWII. Having said that, I do have a few favorites: Douglas Adams - Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy/Dirk Gently. Ian Fleming - James Bond novels. Alistair MacLean - various action thrillers. Spike Milligan - war diaries, blurring the line between fact and fiction, but very funny. To give you an idea of what they're like, the first in the series in called 'Adolf Hitler: My Part in his Downfall '.
  17. Welcome to HazzardNet Lucas. From your posts I'd say you were a big Tom Wopat fan. Sounds like the UK and Ireland. Countries like Sweden expect snow, but it always comes as a surprise to our governments.

    One Word Song Titles

(no video with this )Tori Amos did a cover version of this song on her 'Strange Little Girls' album in 2001. The chorus includes the line 'She looks like Eva Marie Saint in "On the Waterfront"'. Apparently she beat Elizabeth Montgomery (Bewitched) to the role. Her portrayal of Edie Doyle won her an Oscar for Best Actress in a Supporting Role. Here she is with Marlon Brando: Eva Marie Saint also appeared in films like "North by Northwest". I remember her as Maddie's mother in "Moonlighting" in the late '80s. Most recently she played Martha Kent in the 2006 movie "Superman Returns".

Rio - Duran Duran An '80s classic. I never listened to them either, but I remember an episode of Friends where some of them go to a Hootie and the Blowfish concert.
  21. Road to Nowhere - Talking Heads This one does have a video, although, as you'd expect from Talking Heads, it's a bit odd - enjoy.
  22. battery I think you're right - should have put it in the trivia thread .
  23. General Lee (as in ... what was that show called - it was on in the '80s?)
  24. stock (my first thought was Rubik's, but that seemed like a dead end )
  25. This isn't a white trash video, but it is a Christmas video that amused me. Ever wondered what the Christmas story would be like with modern technology?: It must be Christmas - I saw our local cops (or 'gardai' to give them their proper name) selling donuts today (it was for charity).
