  1. Roger, you misspelled "misspelled" (or even misspelt as I'm English) - it's double 's' and double 'l' - I think you'd better start that club
  2. Congratulations Ilaria, or should that be "congratulazioni". I hope you enjoy your month in the spotlight .

    Signs of Hazzard

I had to clarify which sign knightprowl was after. I was looking for a whole separate sign rather than just the banner underneath. I've included one of the original signs to show the juxtaposition of the two together. I wish they'd used straight line above and below the text - the wiggly lines were quite fiddly.
  4. Looks like that's an end to the 'sweet' songs .
  5. That's pretty good going for one night's work Joe. You'll have to post some of your other works.
  6. Hi Mira, there are a couple of posts about the show in this thread in the 'John Schneider/Bo Duke' section of 'Cast/Characters'. I knew I'd read about it last week, but it still took me a while to find it, so it doesn't hurt to say it again. The HazzardNet home page also has a post about it (currently second post down) including a preview of the show - I really should remember to check the home page more often . Sadly, we don't get CMT here so I'll either have to wait for one of the satellite channels to pick it up, or find a place to watch it online .
  7. Hi Mira, welcome to HazzardNet. Hope you hang around now that you're a signed-in member .
  8. Welcome to HazzardNet :).

  9. Welcome to HazzardNet :).

  10. Welcome to HazzardNet Joe. I'm glad my posts have been useful to you. Have you seen my Buildings of Hazzard thread in Fan Art?. I do intend to expand it in the future. I can email you better quality artwork if you want it - the same applies to the artwork in the Signs of Hazzard thread.
  11. Welcome to HazzardNet. Hope you enjoy your stay.
  12. Nice choice Capt, it's not a song I know. I thought I'd go for the man himself with a hit from 1958: Sweet Little Sixteen - Chuck Berry The Beach Boys 'borrowed' the tune for their hit Surfin' USA. Berry sued and got joint writing credits and a share of the royalties. Sometime Dukes looks dated by the lack of political correctness. We don't get songs about 16-year-old girls anymore either.
  13. Welcome to HazzardNet :).

  14. Sorry about the last question Roger - I went away to think about it, and forgot to come back . I still don't remember the scene even with the answer in front of me. I think I'm on safer ground here - I think they misspelt Rosco(e)'s name on a banner at the end of 'One Armed Bandits'.

    Signs of Hazzard

Here's a couple of signs from near the start of 'Return of the Ridge Raiders' in season 2. These were not such politically correct times. I wonder how long a poster like this would last today. I originally started this one ages ago, but couldn't find fonts that looked anything like these. In the end I did the whole lot from scratch. I wish they hadn't hand-drawn most of the signage on Dukes - it would make my job a lot easier .
  16. I posted the news of Red Bull pulling out of NASCAR in the news thread back in June. I haven't been watching NASCAR long enough to have an opinion on Kahne moving teams, but I do find it interesting that Red Bull are pulling out. The won both the drivers' and constructors' trophies in last year's Formula 1 championship, and look set to do the same again this year. Obviously NASCAR just didn't work out for them.
  17. This lady isn't painted This song was written for, and featured in a couple of years ago. The picture of Eva Longoria (I hear she's in a popular TV show) is because she appeared in another commercial for a similar product (from the same company) around the same time. The similarity between this song and has been much commented upon. The worrying thing about my last post is that YouTube offered me a version by the cast of Glee - is nothing safe .
  18. I doubt that I'll be able to get hold of a copy of Hot Rod, and the ebay link on the HazzardNet home page wants $6.99 for the magazine and $14.99 to send it here . Hot Rod Magazine's website has an interview with John Schneider and some exclusive, web only pictures (and even mentions HazzardNet!).
  19. I've been away from home for a while, and using my brother's computer to go online. I should be home by the end of the week, so I'll have another look then.

  20. I am, as you know, disinterested (but not uninterested) in the result. Maybe next season I'll pick a driver to follow .
  21. I watched about the last 75 laps, and not much happened. JG was leading when I tuned in, but slipped back to about 10th because they had to restart his car at the pit stop. He made it up to 3rd, and less than a second behind the leader, before dropping back to save fuel. Meanwhile, Clint Bowyer took the lead for a while, but ran out of fuel with 3 laps to go, leaving an easy win for Smoke.
  22. I've only got a few 'sweet' songs left myself, so I thought I'd include this one. It should be acceptable, seeing as we're in the Hazzard Swamp - besides, I'm sure y'all have been waiting for it with antici ... pation!

    One Word Song Titles

I never intended this 'Rise' theme to go on this long, but while we're on it, I have one more: Wikipedia claims that Bob Dylan liked the song so much he let Gabrielle use the sample of Knocking on Heaven's Door for free.
