  1. Unsurprisingly, it's called 'The Dukes of Hazzard' in Britain and Ireland.

In France it's called 'Shérif Fais Moi Peur', which means something like 'Sheriff, Scare Me' (Google Translate automatically translates it as 'Dukes of Hazzard').

The theme is the same tune, but with French words (and no Waylon):

Maybe i1976 can back me up on this, but in Italy it appears to be called simply 'Hazzard':

The theme tune is completely different, but quite catchy. It's called 'La Ballata di Bo e Luke' ('The Ballad of Bo and Luke'):

  2. I wrote a fanfic once where the Duke boys and Cooter, as a prank, painted Rosco's patrol car hot pink...

Did you imagine it something like this?:

The General Lee, chopped like a convertible, painted white with steer horns on the hood...
    Khee Khee! Good one MaryAnne.

I'd like to see Boss's Cadillac painted like the General Lee.

Let's hope that this satisfies MaryAnne and Roger. I left the rollbar on the Charger for safety reasons. I gave the Caddy a tan interior.

How about erm...the remains of the GL from the second train jump at Oxnard on the back of a flatbed?

I may have let you down. This is definitely the remains of the GL from a train jump at Oxnard, but I'm not sure if it's the second one ;).

  3. I wrote a fanfic once where the Duke boys and Cooter, as a prank, painted Rosco's patrol car hot pink... I shoulda gone with this paint scheme. Khee!

    It could easily be done.

    Another flashback to that fanfic....

The General Lee, chopped like a convertible, painted white with steer horns on the hood...

    What say you, Hoss? 8-)

A request from the HNet deputy is hard to ignore - watch this space.

Dang it, I was hoping you could do a Caddie monster truck styled like Double Zero with a jet engine in the trunk, and a helipad on the hood :D

That's not a silly request ... that's a challenge ;). I had to change the Caddy to a Coupe DeVille (the convertible top just wouldn't support a helicopter!). I know you wanted the helipad on the hood, but that's just daft. If you think that the helipad looks small, I based the size on the one Top Gear used when they landed

  4. Oh I've an idea. A charger,styled as a police car,with a crane arm from Cooter's tow truck in the trunk! :D

As Monty Python would say, "Stop! This is getting too silly!".

Ford had the Ranchero, Chevy had the El Camino, and I think I've just invented the Dodge Chargero :). From now on I'll be ignoring all but sensible requests, so don't go asking for Uncle Jesse's pickup as a convertible race car, or Boss's Caddy as an off-roader :).

  5. And the logo The Dukes of Hazzard: The Beginning?

You can make the new logo?

The logo for the 2005 movie added a 'Z' to the swoosh under the text. Although a colored logo appeared on the DVD and posters, some of the online publicity pictures had either the General or one of the cast members in front of a plain gray logo like this:

    DukesMovieLogo.jpg

'The Dukes of Hazzard: The Beginning' movie used the color logo with a license plate jammed into it. I didn't do this one from scratch, I just remade the lower left corner that was obscured by a head, masked out the original background, and added the cloud background.

  6. Wow! It's a little bit weird....but....Wow!

Thanks Hoss. Now, can you do Rosco's patrol car painted like the General Lee?

I think the eggnog at the Christmas party has got to Roger with these strange requests :). Anyway, I'm happy to oblige.

  7. I'm surprised they never wrote an episode where Rosco and Boss swindled the Dukes out of the General Lee and transformed it into a Hazzard County patrol car. How much trouble would it be for you to make a vehicle like that?

How's this?. I had all the decals and a version of the car in white, so it was quite easy putting them together.

  8. Ben Jones was an alcoholic when he was in his teens and early 20's,and he turned his life around and stopped drinking a few years before Dukes,as a result he asked producers to only give Cooter coffee and sodas.

Ben actually went to audition for Dukes in September 1978, exactly a year after he nearly died from alcohol abuse. Even though the alcohol in Dukes wasn't real, I'm sure those early scenes can't have been easy for him.

  9. Even though Orange is #1 in my book I have always thought pink General Lees were cool.......girl thang I guess.

The 1970 Dodge Charger was actually available in the factory High Impact Paint (HIP) color 'Panther Pink'. I have a 1:18 model of a Plymouth Cuda in the same color (Plymouth called it 'Moulin Rouge'), and I have to say that I quite like it. Whether I'd buy a car in that color is another matter though :). The 1970 Charger would have looked something like this:

  10. Amazing job Hoss!! Have you ever thought of doing a pink General like Frankie said she would in Luke's Love Story? :)

Maybe it would look something like this. I've taken styling cues from Lucifer for the race number and 'General Lee' text.
