  1. Hoss, I'm surprised that was a 1968. I thought I got a good look at the taillights but I guess I didn't.

Don't worry Roger, you're not going mad. I said it was a '68 because that's how it's described on IMCDb, and the only picture they have definitely shows a car with a '68 front fender and grille:

However, I did a little more research and found a thread about the car on www.dodgecharger.com which has several extra pictures, including a clear view of the '69 tail lights you saw, and a few of the interior. The comments suggest that this was a "survivor" General Lee that just had some of the front end swapped with a '68 model.

On a related issue, I was watching an episode of 'The Fall Guy' called 'Bite of the Wasp' earlier that included a Charger in one of the stunts. The car was all yellow, but had '69 tail lights and General Lee wheels. After the car was flipped its wheels alternated serveral times between General Lee wheels and steel wheels that had been painted silver. As another Dukes connection, this episode was the second of three to guest star Mary-Margaret Humes aka. Tinker from 'Mason Dixon's Girls'.

  2. I had a feeling that you'd remember, CD. It was 'Cletus Falls in Love'. Sheriff Little (who's guarding the Hazzard jail) gets distracted by Daisy and Cletus (out of uniform) while Cooter pulls out the bars with his tow truck, allowing Bo and Luke to escape. Even the threat of getting shot doesn't stop them!

This scene with Colonel Jackson's pie truck occurs during the getaway:

  3. 1 Today i've just watched "Too many roscoes" thinking that it was but it was not :

Remember everybody in sheriff uniforms appearing from a hill or something

screaming " im the real roscoe" , no no , im the real , no im the real !

I think the episode you're remembering is 'Enos's Last Chance' from season 6 (episode 10), although Bo, Luke and Cooter dress up as decoys for Enos, not Rosco:

I can't immediately remember which episode the second scene is from, but I'll keep thinking :).

  4. I think BL's right again.

All right, that was a tough one so I'll reveal the answer. There was a beat up orange 1969 Dodge Charger in the movie. It had the tan interior too. I wonder if it was a left-over from our favorite show.

I've never seen the movie, which didn't help :). I checked the car out on IMCDb and found it was actually a 1968 Charger, but mostly the right color and it has the right wheels. One of the commenters seems sure it was a survivor form Dukes.

  5. I'm going to play out of turn again, sadly for another tribute. Andy Williams passed away on 25th September after a year-long battle with bladder cancer.

I have to confess, I don't really know the song above, but it fitted with the previous one. Ones I know better include

    (which I've posted before),
(I went for the video from epic Honda commercial of a couple of years ago), and probably the best known,
    .

    RIP. Howard Andrew "Andy" Williams (December 3, 1927 – September 25, 2012).

  6. I've just posted a Dionne Warwick song in Musical Chairs and it reminded me that one of her songs was part of the "Cover to Cover" feature recently. Here are the two versions to compare and contrast:

This week's song had two very different versions. I'm very familiar with the original British soul version (y'all may remember it from 'Shallow Hal'), but had never heard the countrified version from 1995:

  7. I'm breaking two rules here: one of HazzardNet's and one of my own! I'd promised myself that I would try not to create any more threads in 'Fan Art' (I figured I was being greedy), but here I go with a new one. Not only that, but the artwork isn't even related to the Dukes of Hazzard (I hope the mods will be gentle with me ;)).

Seeing as I had updated vector art for a Dodge Charger and a '68 Mustang I couldn't resist the urge to do this project, so I'm kicking off this new thread with the two cars from possibly the greatest chase in movie history. If you haven't guessed, it's 'Bullitt'. The baddies had the black '68 Charger (I had to change the front end, rear end and side markers), while Steve McQueen chased them in a highland green Mustang. For those of you unfamiliar with the chase, you can see most of it here.

I've got a few other movie cars in mind, and will add them as soon as they're done.

  8. You really need to listen to this on headphones to get the full benefit of the stereo trickery toward the end of the track. If you don't have headphones handy, stick your head between your speakers. It takes me back to listening to it in mid-80s on a cassette Walkman :).

  9. The uploader describes this as "bangin Harmonica blues". I've always thought of him as a folk musician. Either way, it's a great tune:

The track is from the 1989 album 'Footsteps and Heartbeats'. On the liner notes of his LPs Rory is usually credited with playing both footsteps and heartbeats along with spoons, harmonica etc. I saw him play live the year this came out, and he filled the theater with just the sound of his harmonica.

The uploader has added a clip from an old 'Felix The Cat' movie for the video. I'm not sure why, but it's quite fun :).
