  1. I recently came across the YouTube channel of Knight Rider Historians. As their name suggests, they research all aspects of Knight Rider, and now own a couple of screen-used cars, and are in the process of restoring the screen-used FLAG semi (truck and trailer). I've only just started watching the videos because most are in the 30-60 minute range, but the one below caught my eye. It mainly concerns the episode 'Out of the Woods' (previous mentioned in this thread), and discusses the Duke Farm and Boar's Nest filming locations.

  2. I was listening to the Bellamy Brothers last night when I remembered this old advert. Unfortunately, when I re-found this thread, many of the videos were missing. I've replaced about a dozen of them that were still available on other channels.

I'm guessing that this was the introduction of contactless payments.

Hey, I just figured all the actors in the show ( the main ones)  in the show, are worth approximately $ 19,200, 000 together. Cale Yarboro is worth $ 50,000,000.....they got to be a lot more famous and popular than Cale.....just goes to show...YOU NEED TO KNOW HOW TO HANDLE YOUR MONEY!   :) :neener:

The richest man in the world at the moment is Bernard Arnault who's worth about $214 billion, but I'd never heard of him until he overtook Elon Musk. Fame and popularity sometimes have nothing to do with it.

  4. A little F1 news: It's rumored that tomorrow, Red Bull will announce Ford as their engine supplier for 2026 when the new regulations come in. It's Ford's first venture into F1 since they sold their Jaguar team to Red Bull in 2004. More on the story here.

AlmaH must be my buddy for sure. I'll ask him why he shut down the website. First he only shut down the forum, website was still running after that.

Ireland is not that far from here. You know Nickie Fagan maybey? He's in Ireland aswell, owns a General Lee and Tom Sarmento visited him also multiple times.

I checked out Roth Potter on here, doesn't ring a bell for now. Does anyone now's his real name?

I don't know Nickie Fagan. The car I sat in wasn't his, but I never got the name of the General Lee owner I met at one of the other car shows.

I did get to spend the afternoon chatting to Tom Sarmento many years ago. Back then, there was another HNet member in Ireland who went by the name of CDoherty. He invited me to join him with Tom. You can read about the meeting here.

I can't find Roth's real name. His bio says he's from Gelderland, The Netherlands. You can see his introductory post here.

It's great to talk to other DOH fans. Here in The Netherlands my buddy Alma had a DOH forum as well, but suddenly Facebook and stuff where more interesting for most of the members so absolutely no activity anymore. I always hated that. So happy to be on a forum that is still alive!

Too bad I'm on the other side of the big pond. Would be great to set up a meeting. Anybody else on here with a DOH car?

It's good to have another member in roughly the same time zone. We used to have another prominent Dutch member, Roth Potter, but sadly they haven't posted since early 2021.

I assume Alma's website was thedukesofhazzard.nl. I hadn't realized it had closed down - there was some great info on there, especially about the Georgia locations. It looks like Alma was once a member here briefly. There's an AlmaH from the Netherlands who made seven posts between May and June 2005.

I think there are at least a couple of General Lees here in Ireland/Northern Ireland (I posted pictures here of the one I got to sit in). I've seen other TV/movie cars at shows, but I don't remember seeing any other Dukes vehicles.

I have pics of my car but I don't know how to post it here.  If you know how to and can walk me through it I will get some posted on here.

The forum only lets you upload very small (think postage stamp) sized images. Your best bet is to sign up to an image host such as Flickr. Many offer hosting of a certain number of images for free. You can then put a link to your image in your post and your picture will display.

I’m watching the 2nd episode “Daisy’s Song” at the moment. I love rewatching things that I’ve seen a ton of times, and still finding aspects I’ve never really thought about or noticed before!

But, at the beginning when Daisy rushes out of the farm house (the original Duke farm house) to tell the family that her song is on the radio, there’s these other houses or sheds/cabins up behind them—and/or on the same property!

I wonder whose those were...and what purpose did they serve? The Dukes didn’t have farm hands that I know of (they couldn’t afford them). How big was the Duke farm (all this pretending Hazzard world was real )? Just fun new questions that I know probably don’t have real answers, lol! :-P :spin:

I've just had a look at the episode as l don't remember noticing the other buildings before. If I have my bearings correct, they were a bit further back from the road and they look pretty derelict. Looking at historic aerial photos, the new house at the back of the plot was built in the mid-80s, and I can't see any trace of the other buildings in the 1993 image.

All of it was torn out, except one of the old stone chimneys. I don’t know if that’s even still there or not anymore?

The address was/is 2201 Lenora Road near Loganville, GA. The Google car went down the road in February 2022, so we can finally get ground levels views. As far as I can tell, the chimney is still there - check out the Streetview.

Amusingly, there's a sign right outside where the Duke farm house used to stand that says "Road Closed At Bridge". Big Hayes Creek is about a mile down the road. If that's not an invitation to jump, I don't know what is!

  9. I'm here, Roger, I even made a cheeky reply to your post earlier this week.

I think the time I couldn't log in due to the forum update last year is pretty much the only day I missed in over 10 years. I also read or at least skim every post. It must be that I'm going to bed before most of y'all turn up!
