  2. "Yes sir. I've got my ears on, eyes open and my nose pointed due north. Come on back." "Well, UNPOINT it, you dipstick, and head over toward Meadow Road." From 'The Great Hazzard Hijack'.

    NASCAR news

I'll go get my violin. I've just had my third weekend in a row without Formula 1, because they take a Summer break each year. There was also no BTCC racing this weekend, the NASCAR race was on too late and Formula E finished a couple of weeks ago. At least you can watch the Belgian Grand Prix next Sunday - I saw NBC trailing it during the Watkins Glen race.

    NASCAR news

Believe it or not, I just checked the NASCAR site to see when today's race started, and found I'd missed it last night! The night races don't work for me with the time difference, so I'd have missed it anyway. Thanks for the brief review, Garrett. I was just starting to read up on the Playoffs. Is it just the Chase by another name? Regarding the driver changes, it's always sad when one of your favorite drivers moves on. In Formula 1 there are only half the number of race seats, so you're unlikely to get many drivers past 35 let alone 45 years of age. Max Verstappen is already halfway through his third season, and he doesn't turn 20 until the end of next month. There are also some very talented youngsters waiting in the wings.
  5. Three PACK - (from 'The Fortune Tellers')
  6. Welcome to HNet, Jeff. I'm sure the answers to a lot of your questions have already been posted here if you have the time to look. We can point you in the right direction if you're stuck. You could also try to get hold of a copy of "The Dukes of Hazzard: The Unofficial Companion" by David Hofstede. Used copies can be had on Amazon for under $5 (it's currently $15.75 new). The death knell for the Dukes on TV and the flag on the car was the Charleston church shootings by Dylann Roof, although Warner Bros had been actively changing the packaging of Dukes related merchandize for years to hide the Confederate flag. Following the events in Charlottesville, VA last week, I can't see Dukes returning to US TV screens anytime soon, because the flag and General Lee (the man, not the car) are still very emotive issues at the moment. As I said above, the subject has been covered in the threads here in some depth.
  7. MIDWEST Street - (the section of the WB backlot used as Hazzard Square)
  8. As you want to see 'The Ghost of General Lee', I'd suggest season 2. Season 4 is slightly longer (27 episodes), and Season 5 includes the Coy and Vance episodes.

Same title, very different song. Ruby - Kaiser Chiefs
  10. Pritchard INDUSTRIES - (L.S. Pritchard's company from "Farewell, Hazzard")
  11. There's a trailer on YouTube (below) which doesn't inspire me to watch the whole movie. It's currently rated at 3.9 on IMDb.

"White lines and city limit signs" - can't help putting a different spin on that line after Tom's recent arrest! He should have listened to Grandmaster Flash's "White Lines (Don't Do It)". Anyway, back to the music. Here's an Irish band y'all may not have heard of. Celebrate - An Emotional Fish
  13. YALE School of Drama - (attended by Sorrell Booke)
  14. Boss' UNCLE Silas - (mentioned in "The Haunting of J.D. Hogg")
  15. "The way you drive, we'd better pick up a new right QUARTERPANEL, a left QUARTERPANEL..." - Bo to Luke in "Enos Strate to the Top"
  16. Elton LOGGINS - (DJ on Hazzard's radio station)

I can't let the passing of Glen Campbell go by without a mention. I've already posted "Galveston", so here's a later song: Sunflower - Glen Campbell R.I.P. Glen Travis Campbell (April 22, 1936 - August 8, 2017).
  18. GEORGIA - (thought I'd keep it simple )
  19. That was probably the place that John was thinking of, but he actually claimed to be from Snailville. Luckily, the show's producers knew even less about Geogia than he did.
