The #48 Chevrolet team received three penalties, due to the car's roof height being too low in post-race inspection — a violation of Section 12-4-A of the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series rule book (actions detrimental to stock car racing) and Section 12-4-Q (car, car parts, components, and/or equipment used that do not conform to NASCAR rules). A penalty of 25 driver points dropped Jimmie Johnson — the race winner at Las Vegas — back to second place (500 points) in the standings, 10 behind reigning series champion Kurt Busch (510). Chad Knaus, Johnson's crew chief, has been suspended from competition for the next two races and fined $35,000; Jeff Gordon, the #48 car owner, has been penalized 25 owner points. #29 Team: Todd Berrier, crew chief for the #29 Chevrolet driven by Kevin Harvick, has been suspended for the next four races and fined $25,000. Those penalties resulted from the #29 having an unapproved fuel filler and unapproved fuel cell vent. The car was in violation of Sections 12-4-A and 12-4-Q. The violation was found during post-qualifying inspection. In addition to Berrier's penalties, Harvick has been penalized 25 driver championship points, dropping him from eighth to 10th in the driver standings, while car owner Richard Childress loses 25 car owner championship points. #5 Team: Alan Gustafson, crew chief for the #5 Chevrolet driven by Kyle Busch, has been suspended for two races and fined $25,000, due to the car's quarter-panel heights being too high in post-race inspection — also violations of Sections 12-4-A and 12-4-Q. Busch has been assessed 25 driver points, dropping him from 18th to 22nd in the standings; car owner Rick Hendrick loses 25 owner points. In addition: Harold Holly, crew chief for the #32 Chevrolet driven by Bobby Hamilton Jr., was fined $5,000 because of the #32 having an unapproved deck lid, a violation of Sections 12-4-A and 12-4-Q that was determined during opening-day inspection. John Latchford, crew chief for the #89 Dodge driven by Morgan Shepherd, was fined $1,000 because of an unapproved fire suppression agent found during opening-day inspection. That also violated Sections 12-4-A and 12-4-Q. Larry Carter, crew chief for the #2 Dodge driven by Rusty Wallace, was fined $1,000. Another great "Trucker" movie of the 70's... There were 2 low end DVD releases for it. Both releases weren't that great with picture quality and were edited. I am not sure who owns the rights to the movie , but to have two companies put out sub-par DVD's isn't good for us fans. Hopefully MGM will put this on DVD of their own and NOT liscence it out again...

I like Joe Nemechek . The guy has perservered to be in Cup racing and has proved himself to be a great driver. I think the #01 ARMY stock car is one of the coolest looking cars on the track. There is something about it that makes it stand out to me. It doesn't have the greatest or the brightest colors, just colors that fit the ARMY scheme.

Vegas this weekend....Let's hope this isn't as boring as usual for Vegas.. My supervisor went to the race this weekend. Lucky him.. I will make my picks after qualifying and practice...

You know the Monkees are popular when a HUGE group does a song of theirs in concert. I saw U2 back in 97 on the PopMart tour and they did Daydream Believer. Not a bad version actually.....

According to the IMDB , they show no one cast as the Balladeer. Maybe they will do that in Post Production. It won't take much to voice over the film. Maybe we will find out soon enough if there is going to be one or not in the film You would think they would use a "Balladeer" as it was a huge part of the Dukes Of Hazzard .

Here is a bit of trivia about Speed Zone...It was originally intended to the the third sequel of the Cannonball Run movies. Jamie Farr is in it as the Sheik , same role he had in the Cannonball Run. Burt Reynolds turned down the script for this movie. The movie John Candy is watching in his office is the Cannonball Run . Just thought I might throw that out there....

I will still take Catherine Bach at her age now.....She still is hot...

Hopefully in the final editing and public/private screenings , everybody involved in the film will see that "scene" doesn't NOT fit in the context of the film. I sure hope they did not film that "scene" to appease the Poltically Correct public. I am still looking forward to seeing the movie when it comes out. I have my reservations about it, but overall as a DOH I want to see what they made. Whos knows it might turn out better than we all expected? Lord knows almost everyone on this board expects very little from it. Then again it might not. WE sahll see in few months... I have stated over and over again that movie will bring a new generation of Dukes fans who will in turn look back to the original series. Then those new fans can compare the original series to the current Hollywood adaptation. This will hopefully be a good thing all around to keep the DOH alive for future generations.

Like I said we will see.... Ever hear the song Jeff Gordon's Gay by Tim Wilson .My local rock station plays it once in a while...I even heard it on John Boy & Billy when I was down in NC.... Why keep pointing out that he is a good driver? Who said he wasn't ? NOT once have I said he wasn't a good driver. A lot of people including me don't like him.
