Capt_Redneck replied to Acooljt's topic in The General Lee
Recoil.... You sho' know a lot of stuff about everything. Very insightful post about making a General. I still gotta believe that you definately remind me of the Professor on Gilligan's Island. You seem to know everything about everything.... Darrell -
what movie has been filmed in your town other then Hollywood
Capt_Redneck replied to dukesran1's topic in Movies
Parts of Jaws( I forgot which one 1 or 2) were filmed at a local marina the next town over from me back in the day. Same goes for Married to the Mob with Michelle Pfeiffer and Matthew Modine. The hair salon they filmed in was in the same town . -
My Grandfather died........ (this is extremely long)
Capt_Redneck replied to DukesFan24's topic in General Discussion
Susan My deepest sympathies and prayers go out to you and your family. I lost my father May 15 , 1988. I was 17 at the time and my father was everything to me since he basically rasied me alone. My mother had passed away when I was 10. My father was older than most , he was 55 when he had me and was 73 when he passed away. I wasn't the easiest teenager back then. I had my friends and my music which were so much more important. We didn't see eye to eye on most things, but he was always there for me. He did everything for me from driving me and my friends everywhere to standing inline for concert tickets to giving me the trust and freedom he thought I deserved. When that day happened , I lost it . BIG TIME . My father was my life. I can tell numerous stories about all the little things he did for me with even thinking about it. I wish I could say the same. At the wake in the funeral home , I was OK . My friends and family were there. The best part was my neighbor who told everyone that "Losing Jerry was like losing the Mayor" , that made everything for me. When it came to the burial , I lost it . I swear there isn't a day that goes by in the past 17 years that I don't think about . Or think about what I could have done different or really listened to him . There is so much little things like a movie scene or a song or a picture that I remember the exact moment of both of us together. What I wouldn't give for just a day or two to tell him how much I miss him and love him. I'm sorry for the rambling on my part. It just brought back a flood of memories to me. Susan, you will get through this. You have many friends both at home and on here. If you ever need to talk please don't hesitate to get a hold of me. I send all my prayers to you to help you get through this. Darrell -
Alright time to add the most posted topic in the movie section... I am hoping there is some Smokey & The Bandit references in the movie . It will both a tribute to Burt and the original Dukes . After all they referenced Burt Reynolds in the first episode - One Armed Bandits. Darrell

'The Dukes of Hazzard' Theatrical Trailer
Capt_Redneck replied to wLc's topic in Dukes of Hazzard Movies
Scott......Thanks to your info that you have been giving us , I don't know what I am looking forward to most . The movie or the extras on the DVD. Either way I can't wait. Can't wait to see the General fly on the big screen and can't wait to crank it up on my Home Theater.... This will be a great summer and hopefully a great Christmas(if the movie gets released on DVD by then) Darrell -
Scott .......Thank you for the pics. You are the MAN when it comes to the inside information of the movie. Everything is appreciated very much by everyone here at HazzardNet... Did MC Gainey gain weight or something? I just watched Con-Air this past week and he looked to be more of a bigger more built type of guy. That pic makes him look kinda fat. I could be wrong . Can someone make me a Kasey Kahne Wallpaper please?
Capt_Redneck replied to DukesFan24's topic in General Discussion
This should be bumped to the Nascar thread. -
I usually use either the Windows Media player or the DivX media player for WM files. Usually don't have much movie files on my comp so I am not famiialr with the others that were mentioned, QT Alternative and Real Alternative. Maybe if there was an all in one media player if would make things simpler..At least for me. Now when it somes to music , I can really tell you a ton of stuff on what to use with what formats and such. But that will be another topic.... Later Darrell

Dang Recoil you got too techinal on me . I didn't need a lesson in what to do, I just wanted the Windows Media version that was on Yahoo since Yahoo had both Quicktime and WM versions. Recoil you reminded me of the Professor on Gilligan's Island . You know he always had a very techinal idea for just about everything. I appreciate the info anyway, but a simple answer would have done. After all I am just a redneck around here. Darell

'The Dukes of Hazzard' Theatrical Trailer
Capt_Redneck replied to wLc's topic in Dukes of Hazzard Movies
Balladeer - a big YEEEEE -HAAAAAAAAAAAA ( in my best Bo Duke impression) -
Thanks for the Windows Media version. Playing it in full screeen or even the regular size screen was fuzzy. Maybe Yahoo or WB might eventually put it on for download. I appreciate the effort and can't thank you enough for doing that for us on here.... Darrell
-
Very cool...Keep us posted..I would love to hear the whole version of their take on Good Ol' Boys....
-
Your kidding. They finally upgraded that theater? That is the one where McDonalds' is and the old Heilig Meyers was? I saw Star Wars there when it was released back in 97 or so. Wouldn't it be great to see it at the Badin Drive -In?.......What memories. Darrell
-
Not on Morpheus or WinMX..... I tried those all weekend..... Maybe it somehow comeout somewhere, soon.....
-
Amen to that .....Ain't that the truth though. I have been a fan since I watched the series as a little kid. I got really excitedabout ti finally being a movie. We all had our thoughts about it, but I have always stated that I will give his movie a chance being a Dukes Fanatic. Other people's knocks and criticism of the casting and director and script have made me want this movie to SUCCEED even more . Granted I hoped this movie doesn't turn out like Starsky & Hutch, and judging by what I have read about it on other websites - Brian, MaryAne , Muf'n please forgive me on that - the movie won't be like that at all. Everyone has their own opinion on ther Dukes and the movie and I totally respect that. Who am I to judge what others feela passionately about. I am one of those people to. BUT I will be at the theater opening night with my Dukes hat and my General Lee shirt to show my support for favorite show. If the movie is as good as I hoped , I won't be disappointed in the least. It will just be a different version to me and won't take away from the original series, at least not to me anyway. Until August 5th , I will reserve judgement on the movie and continue to read and post comments on here about the "pro's" and 'con's" of the movie. We will know in few shoert months .......I can't wait to see the General lee fly on that huge screen and hear the dixie horn and best of all YEEEEE HAAA. Darrell

Does anyone have a link to download the movie trailer? I saw Recoil's post in the other thread for a link, but that is in Quicktime. I would like to download it in Windows Media so I can get the FullScreen . If anyone can provide a link or anything else like a torrent link , I would appreciate it. Darrell

'The Dukes of Hazzard' Theatrical Trailer
Capt_Redneck replied to wLc's topic in Dukes of Hazzard Movies
Alright everyone. I am back after my new computer crashed one month after getting it. But that is another story for later..... I was watching CMT's Top Twenty Countdown with Buddy Jewell last week when they showed the trailer. I have watchede it over and over again on CMT and on the internet. Thanks to bucknbn for giving me a template to work off of. Sorry I stole your format. My take on it, if ya'll can take at least one more opinion. I think the movie will be better than what was expected from everyone on here. Bo - I think SWS will be a great Bo. I like that he is a little more wilder , at least on the trailer he is. Luke - Johnny Knoxville might have gotten the bad rap from everyone on here because of Jacka$$ , but I think he pulls it off . Maybe he is not the serious type or the voice of reason like Tom Wopat was , but he will a great compliment to SWS. Daisy - I still would have preferred Gretchen Wilson as Daisy. With that being said, Jessica Simpson seems like she will make a good Daisy. She does look hot and does show some smarts. I will wait and judge when the movie comes out. Uncle Jesse - I always thought Willie Nelson was great choice. His trailer spot proves it to me. Although he seemed a bit too flirtatious than what we are used to, it might not be a bad thing if he still has his values and respect we all come to expect. Boss Hogg - Another choice I was happy with. It will be different seeing Burt Reynolds as JD Hogg. He will be the opposite of what we are used to. Maybe that might be a good thing. Enos - Looks like a good choice in the little bit they show. Roscoe - Can't tell yet. Not in the trailer. All in all it looked great to me. Seeing the "General Lee" fly through the air with the dixie horn actually got to me. That was pure enjoyment. I think SWS and Knoxville seem to have the chemistry in the little bit of the trailer. Jessica sounded good as Daisy with her sarcasm and remarks. And the music , especially the new version of Good Ol' Boys sounded awesome... Everyone has to understand that this is set in 2005, so Bo and Luke will be more of a product of today's world, not a quarter century earlier. I just hope people who made the movie decide to NOT include the scene explaining the Confederate flag , as we have discussed on here before. One other thing that they have to have in this movie or else it loses a star automatically - THE BALLADEER. -
Or how about Sci-Fi...
-
Movies that based on fact. I hope that is a catergory.... Finding Neverland Schindler's List The Pianist In The Name Of The Father.... Or movies that are based on certain periods... Gangs Of New York Life Is Beautiful Saving Private Ryan

My newspaper did a summer movie review this past weekend . It lists the DOH movie as Aug 5th..... Don't forget Burt Reynolds is also in another potential summer blockbuster - the remake of The Longest Yard (Adam Sandler) . That could also be areason the movie got pushed back. Just a thought on that Darrell

They still have the spring race on mothers day. Thsi is the first time the Cup boys have ever run on Mother's Day..... Bring back the Southern 500 - Labor Day weekend to where it belongs - Darlington .....
-
I still don't think Phoenix deserves 2 races.... Bring back North Wilkesboro , Rockingham , the Southern 500 - Labor Day weekend at Darlington , then we will have some real racing...
-
A while back on Ebay someone was selling them. I emailed a question to the seller and they said it was from TNN /Viacom . Something about them not running the series anymore and TNN changing to Spike TV at the time and some employees were given complimentary copies of the series. I am not sure how true it was , that is why I never bid on them. If it was true, not a bad present from your company then... Darrell
-
Then how about removing some "Who would you have cast" or "My idea for the movie" threads... fathead.....I just don't think you get it . I think Brian, MaryAnne, Muf'n all do a tremendous job on here to stop that kind of stuff before it gets carried away. Brian did probably the best thing to nip this one in the bud before it erupted . They have given considerable lead way to Bamamediamafia and his posts. And to their credit they have taken so much from alot of us on here. They have shown a lot of respect for our opinions and thoughts on here and they should be respected for that. Like Brian said, it is very very rare that something is deleted. Darrell

Gordon did indeed get lucky with his win at Martinsville. If it wasn't for the "Lucky Dog" free pass he wouldn't have won. I am not a huge fan of the lucky dog , never have been never will be either. One of the worst things NASCAR has changed. I don't like it even it benefits my favorite drivers. That is just my opinion... #20 - Tony Stewart
