Will CMT show all 147 episodes this year?
Capt_Redneck replied to Billl_Duke's topic in Dukes of Hazzard News
So far the episodes don't seem as cut and edited as thery shown on the old TNN years ago. I hope CMT doesn't get any ideas about adding more commercials, although I am hoping that the ratings have exceeded their expectations so far. -
Scott - That cartoon was too damn funny....... Brian - I knew your sheep jokes would be good...... Dale & Traveler - Is ther esomething going that both of would care to share with this board? ....Just kidding..... I'm Outta Here Darrell

It took me a good 3 weeks to find that damn mag up here on Long Island. I went to a few different Borders, Barnes & Noble, Tower Records and any store that sold car magazines.. I finally found it in my local Barnes & Noble, go figure the one closest to me had it. I was there yesterday to get a book and they had a few more copies they must have put out. I am waitng for the new issue with the second part of the series.. By the way, the magazine was well worth searching around for , IMHO... Later Darrell

Oh Lord..........This thread has gotten good..... Brian - I love the way you diffuse the situations. Wish I had your way with words. Too good..... Dale - Yes, I do think Jessica blocks the view of OUR beloved General . Scott - Bring on the sheep jokes. Darrell

I actually like reading some of Bama's posts. He does have some good ones and that isn't mean't to be sarcastic....BUT I like I said , there is no need to cuss someone out like he did. Besides , if he is gone , where the heck would he go and who would keep from laughing or starting a good debate anymore...... Darrell

go f*** yourself Bamamediamafia - Please refrain yourself from using that kind of language towards someone. A little decorum on your part might go a long way. That was uncalled for.. I am just asking to play nice , that's all..... Darrell

Field Report from DukesFest!
Capt_Redneck replied to Brian Coltrane's topic in DukesFest & Other Events
To everyone who attended DukesFest and gave us your reports on it, I thank you very much for it. I am also very jealous because I didn't get to go... I am hoping next year I can attend. This year was a bit hard, my 10 year wedding anniversary(together since High School 17 years and 3 kids later)was that weekend and the Mrs. put her foot down and said no(this is where I have my tail tucked between my legs) ...We had a wonderful dinner and a great weekend. BUT I would rather have been at DukesFest with all my HazzardNet friends. Wait till next year.... I am glad everyone enjoyed it so much and for sharing your experiences and enjoyment... Darrell -
TO ALL TRUE BLUE DUKESFANS
Capt_Redneck replied to Beauregard Special's topic in Dukes of Hazzard Movies
Keith I couldn't have said it better than what you did.... From day 1 , I have looked forward to the movie. While not agreeing with the casting choices at first, I have said it will be the chemistry like the old series. If they have that chemistry, then it will be even better. As for the Burt Reynolds/Smokey & The Bandit, I am in heaven , since Smokey & The Bandit is one of my all time favorite movies. And the Burt Reynolds references in the original series makes the role of Boss Hogg even sweeter for me. Just picture this 20-25 years ago, Burt Reynolds in the Dukes Of Hazzard, it still is like a dream for me. I have posted this a few times before, the new movie will bring in whole new generation of DOH fans. People who weren'tlucky enough to enjoy the original series in it's prime or the reruns on TNN years ago. CMT has jumped on the bandwagon with it's support of the DOH with their showing the series again and their sponsorship of DukesFest. Personally if the movie wasn't coming out , I don't think CMT would be pushing the Dukes the way they are. To me , it is a win-win situation for all Dukes fans everywhere. We get the original series back in a great time slot 5 days a week , the DVD's of the seasons and the oopurtunity to see a new movie on the Dukes - 2005 looks to a great year for the Dukes Of Hazzard.... As for everyone knocking the movie, it has been mentioned that it should be it's own seperate sticky....IT SHOULD BE...It is getting old and I am getting tired of hearing all the b****in' and gripin' about the cast, the way the movie should be, it is not the Dukes, ETC...Enough of this crap. I just don't understand all the negative stuff from a lot of people on here lately. This is HazzardNet - the greatest and best board for the DOH anywhere. That is why I call this board my home. I am a TRUE BLUE DOH FAN till the day I die.Ya'll just got to cool down and see the movie . If you are DOH , you will be there for opening night Aug 5th. I know I will be and hopefully first in line to show my support... Darrell -

dukes of hazzard movie soundtrack
Capt_Redneck replied to uncle 007's topic in Dukes of Hazzard Movies
I understand that movie soundtracks usually come out a week or two BEFORE the movie opens. But this is around 8 weeks till the opening and all the rights to the songs , if they are liscensing any, and new recordings should be done by now in order to get the CD's printed and ready in time hopefully . -
dukes of hazzard movie soundtrack
Capt_Redneck replied to uncle 007's topic in Dukes of Hazzard Movies
There isn't any info on what songs are actually going to be on the soundtrack. Other than the Willie Nelson/Jessica Simpson duet and most likely Willie's version of Good Ol' Boys I have no idea on what to expect. I can't find any info anywhere... -
Any images of MC Gainey as Rosco from the movie?
Capt_Redneck replied to DesertSpirit's topic in Dukes of Hazzard Movies
If ya get to Wal-Mart and get the first episode DVD that has the stuff about the new film , MC Gainey is in it with a short interview.... Darrell -
Scott..... I know what ya mean about flying it down there. One of my cousins is a corrections officer and one of his friends actually got suspended for having the flag in the back window of his pick-up. It seems another CO had complained about it and he was told to take it down , which he did not due in time. It is funny that my tattoo has had positive from the african americans that seen it. It never seemed to be a bother , they loved how colorful the whole tattooo is. But I am sure there is someone somewhere who will eventually get offended by it. BUT it is only visible when I wear a tank top or sleeveless shirt, a short sleeve covers it up because it is on my upper arm.... Darrell

Dover this weekend...... JJ got lucky last week at Charlotte... Time for #20 - Tony Stewart to start making his way to victory lane this year..... Darrell

sorry for knocking the new movie to shreds !
Capt_Redneck replied to dukefan's topic in Dukes of Hazzard Movies
Addam's Family and Addam's Family Values were great movies that captured the spirit of the TV shows. Charlies Angels on the other hand I though STUNK big time. Thunderbirds was OK for a movie, but to think that came out of marionettes on the tV series just made me go HMMMM??? We will see August 5th about the Dukes. My opinion from day 1 has never changed. As a DOH fan, I am excited as all hell to see the movie. Might not have agreed on the casting at first, but it has to do with the chemistry of them together. I still can't see why any DOH fan won't give this movie a chance. Like I have said over and over, nothing will ever compare to the cast and chemistry of the original. BUT this is a new version 25 years later and hopefully a good one....... Darrell -
I think this debate will heat a bit more as the movie gets closer to coming out. There are a select few who still have trouble with Confederate Flag.... Around here where I live, we have a lot of hispanic(Puerto Rico, Mexican, Ecuador, El Salvador, etc) that PROUDLY show off their respective flags. They are proud of their HERITAGE. And they are also PROUD to be AMERICANS that have the rights to do so, It is called FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION , that is what our great country is built upon. All these groups that still protest the Confederate Flag represents the bad stuff(KKK, slavery, etc) should look at various other issues than just a flag. As we are getting older the flag issue , at times, seems to be a "hot" issue. BUT , at least to me and like Brad and 1hellraiser said, these people who protest should look into the whole history of what the Civil War and state's rights were about. A select few had slaves and that included the North also. It is a part of Southern history that seems to get dilluted over the years. Maybe if they taught the Civil War in it's proper context in school, there might not be as much debate as we have now. Southerners should be proud of where they are from and should have a symbol that represents their HERITAGE . Like I said , it is a shame that history isn't taught the proper way for EVERYONE to understand. The same goes for just about everybody, Canadians, Native Americans, etc... I wear my Confederate Flag proudly as my mothers side of my family are from NC. I have a the Confederate Flag and the American Flag tattooed on my arm..... Darrell

Than you MaryAnne for the snapshot. That is an awesome pic..... Darrell

Yes......The Fall Guy and Rockford Files..... I loved both shows when I was kid. I watch Rockford in reruns once in while when my very local station decides to show it. I would love to see both on DVD...

sorry for knocking the new movie to shreds !
Capt_Redneck replied to dukefan's topic in Dukes of Hazzard Movies
I don't agree with ya....... Judging from what has been shown on the DVD and the trailer , I think we Dukes fans are in for something good. For the life of me , I don't understand all the Dukes fans getting on the movie. Sure we all love the original and nothing will ever compare to it. This a movie that will , according to cast and crew, keep the spirit of the original. I am not knocking anybody's fanfic, which I love to read anyway, but it is too easy to say that anybody could have written a better version. What about the screenwriters? Maybe they have their own version that they were pleased with? Right now I am pretty sure sure no one knows the exact screenplay. We only know from the DVD and trailer and some word of mouth. I say as a DOH fan give it a chance. What has anyone got to lose? Anyway we will all find out on August 5th anyway... Darrell -
Additional Dukes DVD release with movie footage
Capt_Redneck replied to GoodOlBoy80's topic in Dukes of Hazzard Movies
Alright now.......I am even more excited about the movie more than ever. Damn, if seeing the General and SWS and Johnny Knoxville as Bo & Luke still has alot of you in an uproar, I don't think you will be disappointed at all with the stuff on this DVD. From the short inteviews and footage, they all talked about the "Spirit" of the original. I am not saying they nailed down the parts because I haven't seen the movie yet, but from the available stuff I am more than happy. Especially Willie Nelson when he sings the theme song- Good Ol' Boys....... I suggest to everyone to get to Wal-Mart and pluck down the $3.00(with tax) for this. It might change a lot of peoples views on what they expect. I still have the feeling that the movie will be in with the SPIRIT of the original. Darrell
