Hazzard Square
I can confirm that there was an old west set nearby, at least there was in 1998. I'm not positive that's what this is, because the distances I remember don't quite seem to fit. But it's a possibility. Looking at Google Maps now, looks like that old west set is gone.

HCM= Hazzard County Mafia
If you name yourself something with a negative connotation, you shouldn't be surprised if people react negatively. There's no hostility here, just commenting on an extremely poor and inappropriate choice of names. Does the name convey the good the group does? No. Will people judge the group based on the name? Of course. The group's acts may be keeping with the spirit of the Dukes, but the name isn't and that was my point. So, why set yourself up to deal with all that flak by picking a negative name? Why give people the wrong impression of yourself before they get to know you? They won't WANT to get to know you. And that would be a shame. As for "mafia" not meaning what it used to, tell that to the thousands of people who are killed by them every year and the loved ones who have to deal with the aftermath or the people whose lives are ruined by drugs supplied by the mafia or the small businesses who are extorted by them. My father was a Federal law enforcement officer that fought for years to keep out drugs the "mafia" was trying to bring into this country. He had to deal with all the destruction and death that came with it. So, it might be a harmless little name to you, but not to those who've experienced first hand just how the mafia destroys lives. The Mexican Mafia in California had a "Hazard" gang that was responsible for a lot of killings in Orange County in the 90's. I doubt you'd want to be mistaken for them or bring that kind of notoriety to the fandom. Thus, my suggestion for a name change.

HCM= Hazzard County Mafia
Wow. Not the most family friendly name or in keeping with the spirit of the show. After all, the Dukes FOUGHT the mafia...

Hazzard Square
It is very likely this is Bob Hope Airport (aka Burbank Airport), as it's not far from the Warner Bros. studio.

Cool idea, ldhenson. I don't know what's cooler... Hoss' artwork on the wall or seeing HNet on your computer at the bottom of the screen. LOL!

Drawing and pic manips and some pics I took
I've seen several satellites and it's always as thrilling as the first time. It's like a tiny shooting star, only the brightness is constant and it keeps going and going. LOL. I'm hoping I can get out to see the Perseid meteor shower this August. Haven't been able to do that in many years, but it's always enjoyable when I do. What software do you use for your artwork?

Daisy's Shotgun Wedding
Ah. You're right, that is a larger structure. I checked Lake Sherwood, but didn't zoom in close enough aparently. Well, at least I found the covered bridge. LOL.

Daisy's Shotgun Wedding
I did some explorin' and I believe I might have found it on the Golden Oak Ranch. Go to Google Maps and enter "Golden Oak Ranch, Placerita Canyon Road, Newhall, CA". To the northeast of the pin and label for Golden Oak Ranch, you can find the covered bridge. I took a screenshot of Google Maps and highlighted/labeled the structures of interest. Here's a link to the Golden Oak Ranch website.

Nostalgic Memories
Late summer of 1981, sitting at the kitchen table of our 28 foot vacation trailer, playing gin rummy with my big sister, sippin' on an Orange Crush, and listenin' to Juice Newton beltin' out on the radio..."Midnight and I'm a-waitin' on the 12:05, hopin' it'll take me just a little farther down the line..." (Anybody else got some nostalgic memories to share?)

Shock Corridor
I saw it a long time ago. What I remember the most is the scenes that show the corridor. If you look closely, it's really a short corridor but they used perspective, matte painting, and short folks to make it look longer. LOL. And, of course, I remember Jimmie's role. I have some still photos from this movie somewhere.

That's just so hard to fathom. I keep praying for some miracles to come out of this every day though.

Prayers for those affected by the Japan Earthquake & Tsunami
I've been through some sizable quakes, including the 6.7 Northridge (that one threw me out of bed), plenty of 5-6+ quakes, and even a 7.1. I can't even imagine the scale of a 8.9. I've been praying for everyone affected by this tragedy.

One of my co-workers has in-laws in Japan. I think they're ok, but I don't think he had heard from everyone yet.
