  1. For some reason, that "City General Hospital" reminds me of the hospital in the Greatest American Hero episode "The Handpainted Thai". Not sure they're the same location though.
  2. That's great. What a blessing.
  3. Yeah, confirmed it. That location I highlighted used to be Laramie Street and it is no more. What a shame. From the WB Studio site... Two new exterior sets were also constructed on the backlot. Replacing Laramie Street is Warner Village, consisting of eleven New England-style homes masking approximately 42,000 square feet of office space which debuted in 2004.
  4. The large orange shape on the right is where I believe the old west set used to be. Looks like it's now a suburban set (or actual houses). This is also where the new Boar's Nest was and the camping site in the "Hollywood Hills" in the last reunion. The distances seem too far to me to match that photo you have that shows the chimney of Boss' House in the background. I'm leaning towards the theory there being another building behind Boss' House at the time, but perspective can be a tricky thing.
  5. For the second reunion, I'm pretty sure I parked my Trans Am right around building 10. That was AFTER the WB police gave me a ticket for parking in a space out on the street marked "visitor". Apparently, I wasn't a "visitor". LOL. They came on to the set looking for me. Told me to park it on the midwestern set. Score! Wish I'd taken pictures. DOH! I can't recall exactly, but I think at the time, Jimmie and Rick's trailers were parked out in front of the church, curbside to the central square. A crane toppled over and narrowly missed the trailers. Eek.
  6. Just looking back through some of these pics I've missed. I'm pretty sure "C" is where Rosco visited the ATM in the second reunion. They had to do a few takes because on one of 'em, an extra tripped over the camera track as she was coming into frame. LOL. It was right across the street from a "subway" entrance, which you can see just to the right of the "F". The building to the left of the "F" was the Daily Planet (Lois & Clark) at the time.
  7. Yes, everyone's entitled to their own opinion, just as that group is entitled to name itself what it wants to. But with a name like that, don't expect people not to express their opinion on such an unfortunate choice of names. I think something like Hazzard County Posse would be much more appropriate. It embodies the same type of "family" closeness, but with a more positive spin. Posses work to enforce the law, not break it.
  8. I think it's because the round robins have turned into Angry Birds.
  9. I can confirm that there was an old west set nearby, at least there was in 1998. I'm not positive that's what this is, because the distances I remember don't quite seem to fit. But it's a possibility. Looking at Google Maps now, looks like that old west set is gone.
  10. If you name yourself something with a negative connotation, you shouldn't be surprised if people react negatively. There's no hostility here, just commenting on an extremely poor and inappropriate choice of names. Does the name convey the good the group does? No. Will people judge the group based on the name? Of course. The group's acts may be keeping with the spirit of the Dukes, but the name isn't and that was my point. So, why set yourself up to deal with all that flak by picking a negative name? Why give people the wrong impression of yourself before they get to know you? They won't WANT to get to know you. And that would be a shame. As for "mafia" not meaning what it used to, tell that to the thousands of people who are killed by them every year and the loved ones who have to deal with the aftermath or the people whose lives are ruined by drugs supplied by the mafia or the small businesses who are extorted by them. My father was a Federal law enforcement officer that fought for years to keep out drugs the "mafia" was trying to bring into this country. He had to deal with all the destruction and death that came with it. So, it might be a harmless little name to you, but not to those who've experienced first hand just how the mafia destroys lives. The Mexican Mafia in California had a "Hazard" gang that was responsible for a lot of killings in Orange County in the 90's. I doubt you'd want to be mistaken for them or bring that kind of notoriety to the fandom. Thus, my suggestion for a name change.
  11. Wow. Not the most family friendly name or in keeping with the spirit of the show. After all, the Dukes FOUGHT the mafia...
  12. Yes. I met him on the set. He thanked me for keeping Dukes alive online. This was back when I was running the Hazzard County Sheriff's Department, precursor to HNet.
  13. I think it says "Room & Board".
  14. It is very likely this is Bob Hope Airport (aka Burbank Airport), as it's not far from the Warner Bros. studio.
  15. Was it supposed to make sense? Well, if I'da known it was supposed to make sense, I woulda done it all differently! LOL.
  16. Cool idea, ldhenson. I don't know what's cooler... Hoss' artwork on the wall or seeing HNet on your computer at the bottom of the screen. LOL!
  17. I've seen several satellites and it's always as thrilling as the first time. It's like a tiny shooting star, only the brightness is constant and it keeps going and going. LOL. I'm hoping I can get out to see the Perseid meteor shower this August. Haven't been able to do that in many years, but it's always enjoyable when I do. What software do you use for your artwork?
  18. That depends on your definition of "bad link". There's no information on that page.
  19. Howdy! And welcome to HazzardNet. I work with a lot of folks from "down under".
  20. Welcome! Wow... $5k is a pretty good deal for a complete Charger in decent shape.
  21. Ah. You're right, that is a larger structure. I checked Lake Sherwood, but didn't zoom in close enough aparently. Well, at least I found the covered bridge. LOL.
  22. I did some explorin' and I believe I might have found it on the Golden Oak Ranch. Go to Google Maps and enter "Golden Oak Ranch, Placerita Canyon Road, Newhall, CA". To the northeast of the pin and label for Golden Oak Ranch, you can find the covered bridge. I took a screenshot of Google Maps and highlighted/labeled the structures of interest. Here's a link to the Golden Oak Ranch website.
  23. Late summer of 1981, sitting at the kitchen table of our 28 foot vacation trailer, playing gin rummy with my big sister, sippin' on an Orange Crush, and listenin' to Juice Newton beltin' out on the radio..."Midnight and I'm a-waitin' on the 12:05, hopin' it'll take me just a little farther down the line..." (Anybody else got some nostalgic memories to share?)
  24. I saw it a long time ago. What I remember the most is the scenes that show the corridor. If you look closely, it's really a short corridor but they used perspective, matte painting, and short folks to make it look longer. LOL. And, of course, I remember Jimmie's role. I have some still photos from this movie somewhere.
