Garrett Duke

LOL...thought it looked wrong when I wrote it out. DOH me!

Sorry to burst your bubble Hoss, but you didn't somehow inherit Ryan Newman, Tony Stewart, and Danica Patrick as your team of drivers...may have sounded like Hoss, but it was Stewart - HASS racing. I did find out that my parents' cable does have NBCSP...but I am not going to the Grand Prix race. My channel will be set on ESPN for NASCAR at Indy...

Here is the line up for Sunday's race at Indy: 1 Ryan Newman 2 Jimmie Johnson 3 Carl Edwards 4 Denny Hamlin 5 Tony Stewart 6 Kurt Busch 7 Kasey Kahne 8 Juan Pablo Montoya 9 Jeff Gordon 10 Marcos Ambrose 11 Joey Logano 12 Brad Keselowski 13 Matt Kenseth 14 A J Allmendinger 15 Dale Earnhardt Jr. 16 Jeff Burton 17 Clint Bowyer 18 Jamie McMurray 19 Kyle Busch 20 Austin Dillon 21 Aric Almirola 22 Travis Kvapil 23 Paul Menard 24 Kevin Harvick 25 Ricky Stenhouse Jr. 26 Mark Martin 27 Greg Biffle 28 Trevor Bayne 29 Landon Cassill 30 Casey Mears 31 David Reutimann 32 Josh Wise 33 Danica Patrick 34 Bobby Labonte 35 Michael McDowell 36 David Ragan 37 Mike Bliss 38 David Stremme 39 Martin Truex Jr. 40 J.J. Yeley 41 Joe Nemechek 42 Dave Blaney 43 David Gilliland Well Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson are going into this race favored due to them both having the most wins at Indy...both having four. Jeff Gordon won the inaugural race in '97 (I think). Also remember, the race will no longer be on TNT...you go to TNT you will be watching something other than NASCAR. The race will be on channel ESPN on Sunday at Pre race on at 12:00 PM with the race starting 1:00 PM EST.

Happy birthday Rosco! I hope your day is special in every way! (We had the radio on at work and in the mornings they announce local birthdays that are called in as well as celebrities. Normally I can't hear it or catch it due to the kids running around but we were low today so it was a bit quiet. Totally forgot it was Rosco's birthday (I know...shame on me!) until they announced it. Was super excited to hear something Duke related at work. LOL) HAPPY BIRTHDAY JAMES, HOPE IT IS A GREAT ONE!

Oops sorry that Rosco bit you Roger...but what can I say? I trained them good, didn't I? Guess you musta didn't see the Cubs shirt Rosco was wearing, eh? Sorry he bit you...that is naughty on his part, but perhaps next time you should wear a Cubs shirt and a hat...he'd be your best friend. If you like Rosco's Cubs shirt, you should see Lilly's Bears jersey shirt she has! At least you didn't wear a Steelers shirt in ... you may have had both of em at you. Hope your arm will be OK Roger...am sure it will be just fine in time. Sometimes it takes a little pain to learn what's good... LOL Hoss...had to laugh at your post. I do have a Cubs dog shirt and a Bears dog jersey shirt. Don't have one for the cat...know she wouldn't have any of it. At least the dogs put up with it. HA!

That'll surprise 'em...though you'll be greeted by a couple of barking dogs (friendly) and two more if I am there. Hope you don't mind a little dog slobber.

Thanks for all the info Hoss but you are lacking the one piece of info I have been searching for the past two days...whether or not I have it. LOL. I don't have cable but my parents do so really don't know all their channels...just the few that I watch from time to time.

I have never heard of that program before either. My parents...who has cable as I do not...has ABCSP...don't know if it is the same or not? This has me nervous...LOL

Well Sunday's race at Indianapolis will mark another and the last change in television coverage for the 2013 season. The season had started on FOX before going to TNT in June. Starting Sunday and throughout the rest of the season, the NASCAR Sprint Cup races will be on ESPN...except for two races that will be on ABC. Well starting in 2015 the races will be held on two networking channels. FOX and NBC. NBC has just bought out TNT and ESPN for their races and will now air the last twenty races, the post race banquet, and any hall of fame ceremonies. Along with seventeen or so Nationwide Series races... I guess for the Sprint Cup Series...seven of the twenty races will be on the normal NBC channel while the rest will be on NBCSN...which I am unsure if I have or not. Which has me nervous...if I don't have it, I am going to be one MAD NASCAR fan. Personally I'd rather it stay on FOX...but as long as I will be able to watch the races I will be happy. NASCAR use to be on NBC for a few races in the Chase and can't remember being all that impressed with the station and it's announcers...but I guess I will have to be happy with what I get. As long as I have that other channel, that is. NBC has signed a ten year contract with this... NASCAR on NBC

Last night I was able to go see Toby Mac in concert for the third time...he is probably my second favorite Christian artist. Or perhaps tied as my favorite with Mercy Me. He puts on an amazing concert and did so last night! Here is one from his latest CD...

Wow Roger...I never knew you were that into fantasy sports...nor did I know that beating and losing to me means so much to you. Kinda makes me feel bad for beating you...as I plan to do in Fantasy NASCAR and Football (after all, it is only fair since you have Soriano on YOUR fantasy baseball team...and the fact I am doing so horribly in all three of my baseball league. Plus, you did beat me...and won the whole league in our football league. Yeah, I say it's my turn to win! ) but as I said...kinda makes me feel bad. LOL. Am looking forward to beating you...oops, I mean, am looking forward to our fantasy football season.

Well Roger, if you win it, you probably will have earned it. It is great to earn their virtual trophies and it is great to have a good finish, but it is all for fun. Though I don't plan on getting beat this year...

Thanks Roger for joining...am excited to have you on my league. Hope you enjoy it...though do believe you got it wrong. My team...that will be loaded with Bears (because I only have the very BEST on my team) will be the one beating your team loaded with your Steelers. HA HA. I can only hope...right? Though I did come in second last year in my league...though am sure that half of it was by luck. My other two teams I had didn't do so well if I remember right. If anyone else wants to join let me know and I will help you get started by sending you an invite. It is fun...and all for free!

Tony Stewart was involved in a Sprint car accident that has sent a young female driver to the hospital . . . Tony Stewart took the blame as the two cars got together as he tried to pass her during a restart. 19 year old Alysha Ruggles is still in the hospital with a fracture in her back. Tony Stewart in Sprint accident. One injured in hospital My thoughts and prayers are with them both.

LOL Roger...guess I shouldn't either. But it is frustrating that they penalize some drivers, but not others. Or they don't penalize someone and later on penalize someone for the same thing or something like it. What goes for one driver, should go for the others. End of story. Well, this isn't really anything news worthy, but there is no race this upcoming weekend and y'all know I like talking NASCAR so... I guess Kyle Busch and Ryan Newman has had words about each other since Sunday's race. Sunday Ryan Newman wrecked Kyle Busch's brother, Kurt Busch, after Kurt led the most laps. After the race an race reporter asked Kyle a question and within the answer Kyle Busch called Ryan Newman an ugly ogre and a stupid idiot and glad he will be without a ride next year. I guess Ryan Newman got into the rear of Kyle Busch at one point or something like that that had him upset... Ryan Newman answered to Kyle Busch on Monday saying he would like to rearrange his face, but if he did that he would probably fix it. Gave Kyle credit for being a "heck of a talent" behind the wheel, but not very bright. Kyle Busch yesterday put an apology out on Twitter yesterday saying he let his emotions get the best of him and he shouldn't have wished Newman out of a job. A lot of talk on Facebook about this...yeah it wasn't very nice of Kyle Busch to say that about Ryan Newman, but can't say Ryan Newman was being all that nice either. Someone on FB even asked if people thought Busch should get penalized for his comments...my opinion, no. It wasn't very nice, but words are words. Especially in the heat of the moment like that. Emotions are bound to get the best of them from time to time...whatever happened to boys have at it? I'd rather see this than to see them going after each other on the track. And for what it is worth...Kyle Busch has stepped up and apologize for handling it the way he did. Which only shows just how much he has matured over the past few years. Kyle Busch and Ryan Newman As I said, not very newsworthy, but it is something to talk about.

Well here is a song from a group that didn't turn out to be a one hit wonder...

LOL. I know, right? Someone at work said the same thing...frustrated though. Figured it being Sports Illustrated, it had to be good. Got it a week or so ago and then to find him highly rated...LOL. Perhaps I will look for another fantasy football magazine when the time gets closer...to make sure it is more updated. An RP sounds like a fun and great idea, Roger.

Wow...don't know how I missed this thread. But I do agree...it is very depressing to see the low activity rate on HNet...I have been here over ten years now. Met a lot nice Duke friends...a lot of them have left. Time goes on I guess and life gets in the way. But it is sad to see it being so quiet. Would a new Round Robin shake things up a bit? I don't know. I like the chat and DVD thing MM mentioned. You all have added some good insight and ideas. Hopefully we can get things livened up here.

Well I know I have used this song before on this thread but thanks to Hoss' criticism of only the best band EVER, I have to use it to get a message across. (Just joking Hoss...just love this song and it's message.) Positivity isn't about being soft...it is about being smart.

Wow Hoss you sure do know a lot about the New Kids...LOL

Fine...I apologize for using two words for my last song. I just couldn't help but to use that one. But it sounds like you know the New Kids pretty well. You even know the songs on their new album...you must have the album at home. And just so I won't disappoint you...here is my other favorite song on "10"

Hey Roger...if you do decide to join my league, to show you my great appreciation for your commitment to my league, I will allow you to draft or have Aaron Hernandez. Who, according to the new Sports Illustrated Fantasy Football issue, is the top third draft pick for tight ends. That has got to be one heck of a deal...if that don't persuade you to join, I don't know what will...

This is one of my favorite songs on the New Kids on the Block's new album "10". Love this song!
