  1. Well...I am just relieved and grateful that the Boston police and all other sorts of police that were able to grab him was able to work as they did and to capture him before he was able to do any more harm than what they already did. And I do see where you are coming rom Roger and would normally agree, but I am glad that they caught him alive. Perhaps now they can get some answers...

Ah well what matters is how you finish more than how you start...he can only move up. NEVER GIVE UP HOPE!!!!!!!!!!
  3. Well y'all...after we got OVER five inches of rain yesterday, I do believe this song pretty much sums it all up. Though to be honest, I am done with water or rain or what not...and am ready for some nice sunny warm days.
  4. Well Brian France and NASCAR has finally handed out the penalties that were anticipating after Saturday night's Texas race where both Penske cars - Brad Keselowski and Joey Logano - got held back in pre race inspection and had their rear end housing taken from them...and having to put in new ones. Logano almost missed the start of the race due to it... Logano's and Keselowski's crew cheifs were both fined a hundred thousand dollars each. Logano's and Keselowski's crew cheifs, competition directors, and engineers were all suspended for six races...as well as for the All Star Race. Though what is going to really hurt them is the fact that Logano's and Keselowski's teams have gotten fined twenty five championship points. Also, Martin Truex Jr has gotten fined for failing his post race inspection bringing the fine of six points towards Truex Jr and his car owner Michael Waltrip. His crew cheif was fined twenty-five thousand dollars...and put on probation until June 6th. Here is the article I had gotten my information from... http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nascar-from-the-marbles/nascar-drops-hammer-keselowski-logano-penalizes-truex-jr-190953907--nascar.html
  5. My thoughts and prayers are going out to all those who participated in the today's marathon in Boston where several bombs went off in different locations. So far a couple are dead and over twenty others hurt. Just incredibly sad and scary for everyone involved, watching, the police/paramedics/fire fighters, and their families. I can't even begin to imagine what they are now going through. A lot of people who are in marathons are in there not only to work out or to lose weight but also to raise money for charity or to bring awareness to cancers and other sorts. They give their time, effort, and talent to these charities and this is how they are repaid? Just incredibly sad. I don't understand how anyone could even think of doing such horrorific acts of violence as this...and why? I guess some things you or at least I will never understand... My heart, thoughts, and prayers go out for everyone affected by this horrible violence and for Boston as a whole.
  6. It was even to the Cubs and Pirates? Gee thanks...you say that as if they are the worst teams in baseball and can't win a single game. Wait a minute...that describes Roger's Pirates perfectly well! (I kid because I care, Roger ) Just not my Cubs...I don't care how many games they have lost this season and where they are in the standings...this is going to be the CUBS YEAR!!!!!!!!! It has to be...after how many times I have said that, one of these times I am going to be RIGHT and it might as well as be this year. GO CUBS GO!!!!!!!!!!! (Sorry I am a hopeless Cubs fan and REFUSE to give up hope on the Cubs...even if it does seem like there is no hope. ) Season is still young KDuke...don't give up on 'em now...
  7. Well, to add onto what I wrote earlier on today, there has been reported that a 42 year old man had died in the infield area at the NRA 500 last night. I guess he and some other campers got into an arguement and the 42 year old shot himself in the head...near a truck. The article I read said that alcohol may have had something to do with it.
  8. Well it looks like some penalties may be handed out sometime this week. Before the race both Penske cars (Joey Logano and Brad Keselowski) were stuck in pre race inspection and part of the car taken by NASCAR for not meeting requirements (rear end housing.) And with the new car, NASCAR is now forced to have to decide on how to handle this situation since it will set the field on how they will handle such cases in the future with this car. Not only that but Brad Keselowski had to go open his mouth stating that his team is being targeted by NASCAR...which will also probably bring some penalties for being negative over NASCAR's choices. Keselowski was also penalized last week for pitting outside of his pitbox. Though if penalties are handed it out it will be either tomorrow (on Monday) or on Wednesday. On Tuesday Keselowski (who won the championship last year) will be going to the White House to celebrate Obama. Here is the site where I got my info at: http://aol.sportingnews.com/nascar/story/2013-04-14/texas-results-brad-keselowski-penske-racing-penalties?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=facebook I will let you know as soon as NASCAR announces what they will do with Keselowski and Logano. (My opinion...don't know if Keselowski should be penalized for saying what he did, but by now he should know better than to state his feelings or opinions (at least negative ones) to the media or the public. If he has an issue on how NASCAR is handling the situation, then he should bring it to Brian France and the rest of NASCAR. Also, I don't see NASCAR as targeting Penske...when the Car of Tomorrow car came out, NASCAR penalized both Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson for some part not meeting standards. Both of their crew cheifs were suspended and penalized and the drivers too got some sort of penality if I remember right...so it is NOT just Keselowski or Logano. NASCAR has made it clear that you don't mess with ther new cars nor do you speak against NASCAR publicly...as Hamlin learned earlier this season. As I said, all that is of my opinion which isn't worth very much. )
  9. I guess if you knew a kid playing it would make it fun to watch. Or even if you didn't...but MLB boring? Wow...well perhaps it is because I don't have any kids to go watch play ball or what, but do have to disagree... I'd much rather watch MLB on TV...mainly the Cubs. Baseball and boring should NEVER even be mentioned in the same sentence! My opinion...for what it counts.
  10. Thanks Roger for your encouragement. It was very disappointing and frustrating to see him run so good all race long and then have some problem at the end of the race to ruin it for him. Luckily we are early on in the season and hopefully he can recover from this. I don't know about lead changes, but I will look it up for you. I do know your David Ragen led one lap because he was on my bench on Fantasy NASCAR. Well thanks to Yahoo...Kyle Busch led 171 (I think the most) Martin Truex Jr led 142, and Jeff Gordon led 15. Logano, Gilliland, and Ragen led a lap. Ryan Newman led 3 laps. Guess I didn't pay attention to the lead changes but there was quiet the few changes, huh? Yeah the crew cheifs and crews will have their work cut out for them for Kansas next week...there was a lot of difficulties in pits today. Jr got caught speeding. Matt Kenseth dropped a lugnut that sparked and started a small fire in the pits while the crew was still there...the gas man or one of the crew members looked like his foot was on fire (though was fine) they were able to put it out pretty quick. And then there is the parking in pit road. Like Juan Pablo Montoya trying to park in someone else's stall. Or Tony Stewart parking diagonal in his stall and didn't get penalized while McMurray and another driver did get penalized for having a tire out of the pit box (on the same pit stop!). Once again, thanks Roger for the encouragment.
  11. Well the Texas race went on as scheduled on TV despite the scary letter that was sent to FOX and Brian France. I am grateful to watch the race, but don't think I would have missed much if I didn't get to watch it. Don't get me wrong, I was glad to watch it, just not a whole lot to write about. Think most issues was with tires and engines. Ricky Stenhouse Jr caused a couple of cautions due to his tires going out. Dale Jr was doing good until his battery died and they had to manually switch the battery. Carl Edwards was fighting engine issues...and then his seat belt coming loose, and ended up coming home third! Jeff Gordon had a good race...led some laps and ran in second or third place most of the race until 24 laps to go, he broke his hub or burnt his hub and he took it to the garage. This 24 fan is NOT happy at all right now. Very sad race. Martin Truex Jr led a lot of laps today only to come home second to Kyle Busch...who also won Texas last night in the Nationwide Series race. Here is the finishing order of the Texas race: 1 Kyle Busch 2 Martin Truex Jr. 3 Carl Edwards 4 Greg Biffle 5 Joey Logano 6 Jimmie Johnson 7 Aric Almirola 8 Brian Vickers 9 Brad Keselowski 10 Ryan Newman 11 Kasey Kahne 12 Matt Kenseth 13 Kevin Harvick 14 Mark Martin 15 Clint Bowyer 16 Jamie McMurray 17 Paul Menard 18 Trevor Bayne 19 Marcos Ambrose 20 Juan Pablo Montoya 21 Tony Stewart 22 Travis Kvapil 23 Jeff Burton 24 David Reutimann 25 Dave Blaney 26 David Ragan 27 David Stremme 28 Danica Patrick 29 Dale Earnhardt Jr. 30 Josh Wise 31 Casey Mears 32 David Gilliland 33 Austin Dillon 34 Landon Cassill 35 Joe Nemechek 36 Timmy Hill 37 Kurt Busch 38 Jeff Gordon 39 J.J. Yeley 40 Ricky Stenhouse Jr. 41 Mike Bliss 42 Bobby Labonte 43 Michael McDowell We will be in Kansas next weekend...
  12. Know how much y'all are dying to hear some new music from the New Kids on the Block...especially Hoss. So wait no more. Here is from their new "10" album. LOVE their new album...this is one of my favorite songs on the album!
  13. Well y'all...got some good news. THE RACE IS ON FOX...RIGHT NOW! Sara Evans just sang the "National Anthem"... C'mon Jeff Gordon and team 24...let's shoot them guns in Victory Lane!
  14. HA...you may say that now, but you won't be saying that in September! THIS IS THE CUBS YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. Scott Speed drives the number 95 (did not qualify for this weekend's race) and races for Leavine Family Racing. Do like his name too. He use to drive for Red Bull Racing with Brian Vickers before Red Bull left NASCAR...
  16. Here is an updated qualifying list for tomorrow's race...my last one had Kenseth at a different place. Perhaps Yahoo isn't a good place to rely on. Use to go to NASCAR.com for all things NASCAR, but they have redone their site and it is easier to go to Yahoo than NASCAR...have to use Google Chrome for the new NASCAR site. . Anyway hopefully this will the starting order...thanks Hoss for pointing it out to me. 1 Kyle Busch 2 Kurt Busch 3 Aric Almirola 4 Marcos Ambrose 5 Martin Truex Jr. 6 Dale Earnhardt Jr. 7 Jimmie Johnson 8 Jeff Gordon 9 Carl Edwards 10 Juan Pablo Montoya 11 Jamie McMurray 12 Austin Dillon 13 Tony Stewart 14 Kasey Kahne 15 Brian Vickers 16 Brad Keselowski 17 Ricky Stenhouse Jr. 18 Joey Logano 19 Paul Menard 20 Matt Kenseth 21 Jeff Burton 22 Trevor Bayne 23 Mark Martin 24 Casey Mears 25 David Ragan 26 Clint Bowyer 27 David Gilliland 28 Dave Blaney 29 Kevin Harvick 30 Bobby Labonte 31 Ryan Newman 32 Travis Kvapil 33 David Stremme 34 Mike Bliss 35 Greg Biffle 36 J.J. Yeley 37 Michael McDowell 38 David Reutimann 39 Landon Cassill 40 Josh Wise 41 Joe Nemechek 42 Danica Patrick 43 Timmy Hill I really hope to get to watch tomorrow's race...I miss it due to some political issue, I will not be happy. As I said, NASCAR has NRA as it's sponsor as a business deal, nothing political nor guns. Will let you know if I find out either way...
  17. Once again Hoss you are right...Timmy Hill is 43rd. Though I copied and pasted, so don't know how I went wrong there. Scott Speed came in 44th in other words didn't qualify.
  18. Well Hoss sorry to do this to you, but am stealing the show and turning it back to NASCAR. Here is the qualifying order for SATURDAY NIGHT's NRA race at Texas: 1 Kyle Busch 2 Kurt Busch 3 Aric Almirola 4 Marcos Ambrose 5 Martin Truex Jr. 6 Dale Earnhardt Jr. 7 Jimmie Johnson 8 Jeff Gordon 9 Carl Edwards 10 Juan Pablo Montoya 11 Jamie McMurray 12 Austin Dillon 13 Tony Stewart 14 Kasey Kahne 15 Brian Vickers 16 Brad Keselowski 17 Ricky Stenhouse Jr. 18 Joey Logano 19 Paul Menard 20 Jeff Burton 21 Matt Kenseth 22 Trevor Bayne 23 Mark Martin 24 Casey Mears 25 David Ragan 26 Clint Bowyer 27 David Gilliland 28 Dave Blaney 29 Kevin Harvick 30 Bobby Labonte 31 Ryan Newman 32 Travis Kvapil 33 David Stremme 34 Mike Bliss 35 Greg Biffle 36 J.J. Yeley 37 Michael McDowell 38 David Reutimann 39 Landon Cassill 40 Josh Wise 41 Joe Nemechek 42 Danica Patrick 43 Scott Speed As I said this race will be held Saturday night on FOX...well at least I hope it will be on FOX. With that said, I have some HORRORFYING news for y'all. There is a US senator who in March had wrote to NASCAR CEO Brian France asking him to change the sposnorship of this Texas race -NRA (National Rifle Association.) NASCAR has decided to go on with the sponsorship with NRA as well as the traditional winner shooting in the air. So the senator has now sent a letter to the company owning FOX (which airs the races) asking them not to air this Texas race due to NRA sponsoring the race. (So far, Fox has yet to say whether or not they will air the race.) Well y'all, I am the least political person there is, but got to say the obvious...this has caught my attention. And I am not happy! I am not here to start a gun control debate or any other political debate, but this has gotten way out of hand! NRA sponsoring tomorrow's race at Texas is not about politics. It's not about guns. Or gun control. It is a business deal between NASCAR, Texas Motor Speedway, and NRA to help this race happen, to take place. End of story. NRA Sponsoring NASCAR Texas Race That is the article I got most of my information on as well as a small part of the senator's letter he had sent FOX. I will let you know if they don't air the race...if so my review will rely on computer info and what not. Just the fact that they are trying to pull a race for some political purpose makes me upset...though do believe that the senator is probably doing himself more harm putting attention upon NRA sponsoring the race than if he didn't say nothing. My opinion - for what little it is worth.
  19. Wow K Duke I bet your dad had a blast doing that...would love to have a job at Wrigley Field - the ideal one would be the score keeper. Talk about baseball what y'all think of that fight last night between Carlos Quinton of the Padres and Zach Greinke of the Dodgers? Personally I think Quinton should be benched for a looooonnnnnngggggg time...I'm sorry, but to hit someone that hard to fracture or break Greinke's shoulder bone? He should be on the bench way longer than Greinke is sidelined due to his injury. I understand being upset over getting hit by a ball, but really? That is way overly excessive if you ask me. (Which no one did...LOL)
  20. Well y'all I am excited to announce that Chandra Johnson, Jimmie Johnson's wife (that Jeff Gordon introduced him to! ) is expecting again...Genevieve is going to be a big sister (Genevieve is JJ's and Chandra's two year old - will be 3 in July- daughter)! She is due in September...hopefully will not interrupt or get in the way of any racing. LOL Congrats to Chandra and Jimmie! b
  21. I am so sorry to hear about your incredible loss CD. Relfect on the good times with your Granda. You all are in my thoughts and prayers as you go through this difficult time.
  22. "1994" Jason Aldean I think with each song Jason comes out with, the more I like him. Which is hard to do since I have liked him from his very first song. I admit he isn't very Country in the traditional way, but I love his music all the same. Love how he is singing about Joe Diffie...I use to love his music! Diffie's "John Deere Green" use to be one of my favorite songs...still love that song and Jason even mentions it in "1994". Another GREAT song by JASON ALDEAN!
  23. Wow shame on me...I missed a couple of weeks! Will try to do better on updating the points for you. Here is the official point standings after Martinsville: 1 +2 Jimmie Johnson 2 - Brad Keselowski 3 -2 Dale Earnhardt Jr. 4 +2 Kyle Busch 5 -1 Greg Biffle 5 +2 Kasey Kahne 7 -3 Carl Edwards 8 +5 Clint Bowyer 8 - Paul Menard 10 +1 Matt Kenseth wc 11 -2 Joey Logano wc 12 +6 Jeff Gordon 13 +3 Jamie McMurray 14 +1 Kevin Harvick 15 -3 Ricky Stenhouse Jr. 16 - Aric Almirola 17 +4 Casey Mears 18 -8 Denny Hamlin 19 +4 Marcos Ambrose 19 -6 Kurt Busch 21 +4 Mark Martin 22 - Tony Stewart 23 -3 Ryan Newman 24 - Jeff Burton 25 -6 Martin Truex Jr. 26 +3 Danica Patrick 27 -1 J.J. Yeley 28 +3 Bobby Labonte 29 -1 Dave Blaney 30 - Juan Pablo Montoya 31 -5 A J Allmendinger 32 - David Ragan 33 -1 David Reutimann 33 +1 David Gilliland 35 - David Stremme 36 - Travis Kvapil 37 +1 Landon Cassill 38 -1 Michael McDowell 39 - Terry Labonte 40 - Scott Speed 41 +1 Ken Schrader 42 -1 Michael Waltrip 43 +1 Scott Riggs 44 -1 Timmy Hill Well I do believe that I like this point standings the best so far this year...just look who is up to twelveth place from eighteenths! Of course that past sentence is all of my own petty opinion...
  24. Sorry Hoss that you will miss the first night race of the season...nothing like racing under the lights. Will keep you posted and updated as usual though. Lizzy, that is just what DW said about the misunderstanding of the command. It could have been anything. Martin had a decent finish so it really didn't hurt him that bad. Though am sure it got them all upset at the time. Roger - You are welcome. Love writing/talking NASCAR and this gives me an excuse or a reason to do so. Thank you for reading them. Don't worry about your fantasy team...you are still beating me then again, it doesn't take much to beat me seeing as how I am second to last. For now. Am very excited about JG's finish...and his points. I now have hope for my #1 driver...now if only my fantasy team would take the turn for the better, I'd be happy.
