  1. Well granted it wasn't the most exciting race, but at least it wasn't a wreck fest as Daytona was.
  2. I remember years ago when John Schneider gave the command of Gentleman Start your engines at Atlanta. Sadly it didn't go Elliott's way or Johnson. Johnson finished two laps down. Brad Keselowski won. Had him to start on my fantasy NASCAR team but replaced him after I heard he had the flu and had a substitute driver on standby. Ugh... Congrats Roger on leapfrogging me in our league.
  3. Uh...I may be the commissioner but I dont make the rules. So...I'm sorry. Better luck at Atlanta.
  4. Yes it is. Still remember watching that race and my sister called and said he died. I had a hard time believing it.
  5. Um...sorry to say Roger, but the goal is to have the most points.
  6. They also talked about that on pre race of the Daytona 500...
  7. Yesterday also marked 18 years since Dale Earnhardt Sr was killed.
  8. Last year it didn't take that long...so maybe its because of it was the 500 or because the new rule of they have of inspecting cars after the race instead of Tuesday slowed them down. But yeah it took them awhile.
  9. Me too. There were a few bad ones at the end. But that's Daytona or any restrictor plate racing. There was a lot of action that is for sure and a great finish.
  10. Well today is the day! Daytona 500...the Super Bowl of NASCAR! It's on FOX. Y'all know I'm excited. All four of my drivers will be starting out front...now if only they will finish there. Is your Fantasy team ready, Roger?
  11. No our fantasy league will start this weekend.
  12. Well I didn't get to watch the Clash today, because I didn't have the channel. Was going to go to my parents house to watch it, but it was snowing and I hate driving in it. But with that said, the Clash got shortened due to rain. Paul Menard led from the pole and led 52 of the 57 laps. Jimmie Johnson passed him on lap 52 and the two made contact which caused a huge wreck. Jimmie Johnson went on to win the race with his new sponsor Ally and new crew chief Kevin Meendering. It is not a point race. Kurt Busch finished second for his new team Chip Ganassi. Well this has been a pretty good day for Hendrick. As William Byron won the pole award for next week's race at Daytona (with Chad Knaus. His new crew chief. Knaus was Johnson's crew chief his entire career up until lithe end of last season when Hendrick moveded Knaus to Byron in the 24 car. Ironically Knaus started his career as a crew member of Jeff Gordon in the 24 car...). Hendrick has all four cars starting Daytona 1, 2, 3, and four as that's how they qualified. The Dual races will be held on Thursday to set the rest of the field. Welcome to Speed Week y'all! Next week y'all is the REAL deal. I'm really hoping to watch the 48 car in Victory Lane (under better circumstances) at the end of the Daytona 500!
  13. I definitely knew it was you. Thank you for joining. And I'm hoping Elliott will have a great season...as well as Johnson. Could you tell which team was mine?
  14. Got it...sent you an invite.
  15. Y'all know I love my NASCAR and I've been a fan too long to stop now, but NASCAR needs to get their hands out of the car and race and ALLOW the drivers and crews do their jobs...to race. I dont understand why they feel the need to constantly change things and implement new rules when they HAD a great thing to start with. The Chase has put a big dent in it I think and then the illumination segments make it worse and now the stage wins and points? I'm sorry, but they change the whole race outcome by all this. They do add some sort of excitement to it, but it's not all about racing anymore as it once was. OK my rant is over for now. They have the pre season race "The Clash" on this Sunday at 3 EST on F1. Y'all hear that? There is a race this weekend! Bet you don't know who's excited...(despite my rant.)
  16. I think they are taking it a bit far myself. I dont understand how a car can pass through pre race inspection and through pit stops and yet fail post race inspection. On another note, I have a fantasy NASCAR league that I'd love to have any or all of you to join. Its through NASCAR.COM, it's free and fun to play. Let me know and I'll send an invite.
  17. https://www.foxnews.com/auto/nascar-will-disqualify-winners-caught-cheating-in-2019 Well NASCAR is getting serious. Anyone whose car fails post race inspection will be stripped of their win or any points they may have earned.
  18. I believe Jimmie Johnson is a a Chargers fan...he's from around San Diego area. Well just to let you all know how bad I have my NASCAR withdrawal...I just looked at my weather app. It says with windchill it is -24. My first thought was well its negative Jeff Gordon. Guess it would be William Byron, but to me, 24 will always be Jeff Gordon. Talking Jeff Gordon...he signed an extension on his FOX broadcasting contract. Yay! Also whenever Rick Hendrick decides to retire, he will be stepping in. 19 more days...lol.
  19. Well sorry Roger, but have to say if I am rooting for anyone, it would be the Patriots. Only because that's Donnie Wahlberg favorite team and well that's how I roll. I'm a big Donnie Wahlberg fan...Blue Bloods is my other favorite TV show. So...go Pat's go. LOL. Now if it were the Bears or the Panthers...Donnie would be on his own... Now if Kurt Warner was still the QB for the Rams. I'd be all for the Rams. Kurt is from the same cold state I live at so gotta support him. Tho he no longer plays...ha! But my real super bowl is the Daytona 500. The Super bowl of NASCAR! 25 loooonnnngggg days to go!
  20. True...the Bears being in the Super Bowl would make the Super Bowl more exciting (to me) and worth watching.
  21. Me too. Maybe you could win the lottery, Roger?
  22. Um no scam here...still doubt $30 would cover anything. Look at this article from 2017 I found... https://racingnews.co/2017/09/21/nascar-sponsorship-costs/amp/ Sorry Rogerr.
  23. Sorry to say but $20 from us all wont even buy us an inch of advertisements on his car. Probably why NASCAR is having issues with that. I mean look at Lowes pulling out from Jimmie Johnson. Or Dupont from Gordon. True their cars probably require more money than a lower funded team, but I'm sure even their sponsors pay a pretty penny to advertise on their car. Sorry to burst your bubble Roger... But talking sponsorships...the truck series is no longer Camping World Trucking Series, but is Gander Trucking Series.
