  1. Thanks everyone who wished me a happy birthday! It was a good day and will be celebrating it more tonight with my family. Hey Roger - thanks for the comments! Hope you enjoyed all your buttermilk you had last night. *** I thought of you this week. Your Pirates played my Cubs Tuesday, Wedsnesday, and Thursday. I thought you said that your Pirates weren't a very good baseball team? Well, if that is the case, what does that have to say for my poor Cubs who were swept by your Pirates? The Cubs lost 11 to 1 yesterday...on my birthday none the less. Good thing I was at the Boar's Nest with y'all to miss it all. Thanks for saving me from the misery and heartbreak it would create to watch such a big loss. Well for me on the other hand. Bet you wished you were home watching it instead of being at the Boar's Nest for my b-day. LOL. Thanks again to everyone!
  2. Thank-you Daney! What a wonderful surprise to see this thread - it put a smile on my face and made my day! It has been great to get to know you as well over the years and it has been great to be a member to a great site like HNet to meet and know other DOH fans. Thank-you Daney!

Well we are onto the "Lady in Black...or the track that's too rough to tame (something like that)" which is Darlington and it will be another Saturday night race. Better yet for Gordon fans is that he has a great record at this track with seven wins to make him in the top three for the most wins at Darlington as well as a long run of top five finishes at this track. So, needless to say, I am excited about his chances this weekend after seeing what he is capable of doing this season with all his top second and third place finishes. (Now if only he can survive or get past the double file restarts at the end or the green-white-checkered deal, he should be fine. If it's not one thing for him, it's another thing.) As for the other drivers...I'm sorry to say I really don't know about their chances or stats at this track. It should be for a good race. As for the points...(Sorry it took me this long ) 1. Kevin Harvick (29) - 2. Jimmie Johnson (48) -10 3. Kyle Busch (18) -109 4. Matt Kenseth (17) -119 5. Greg Biffle (16) -133 6. Jeff Gordon (24) -162 7. Denny Hamlin (11) -199 8. Kurt Busch (2) -212 9. Jeff Burton (31) -220 10. Mark Martin (5) -225 11. Carl Edwards (99) -240 12. Clint Bowyer (33) -254 There is the official top twelve in points as of now. Of course, that all may change after Saturday night's race...hopefully in a good way for all of our drivers.

  5. *Glances at watch in frustration before glancing back around the well hidden destination taht Roger has picked out to meet. Standing up, I begin to nervously walk around the area, peering in through the trees in hope of finding some form of life. Finding none, I look back at my watch once more only to find it has been ten minutes later than the last time. Meaning Roger is now fifteen minutes late.* "Come on Roger, where the heck are ya?" *I ask aloud to no one, beginning to wonder if Roger had set me up or perhaps had second thoughts and this is his way of backing out. With those thoughts, more frustration and annoyance courses through me. If he wanted to back out, he should have told me he wanted out and if this is his way of setting me up, I should have known better to trust him.* Five more minutes *I state aloud, the silence is deafening around me.* And I'm outta here. *I shake my head, wondering why I am bothering giving him any more of my time. Afterall he's already twenty minutes late and no one is here. This is my time to leave if by chance he is setting me up...though if he were, the law would already be here by now. Which leaves it to be this is his way of backing out from all of this. Only to create annoyance, anger, and frustration within me for trusting him and allowing him to do this to me. With that, I grab another cigarette and light my second cigarette since arriving at our meeting place and begin to head for my motorcycle two minutes early than my five minutes I had spoken aloud a couple of minutes ago. It's his loss*
  6. Thank-you Redneck Girl! :D It has been a pretty good day today. They threw a potlock at work for me today - they do that for all the birthdays. That was fun and nice. And tomorrow we will be going out to eat at my all time favorite restaurant with my parents, my sister and her husband and my neice...then I get to watch my neice this weekend. Am really looking forward to it.

Dang you are keeping busy! Guess that keeps you outta trouble. HA HA. (That was from Garrett ;) ) Good luck with prom and graduation...you should have fun. Your project sounds hard and fun. Hope you enjoyed it.

    Thanks again!

Thanks for understanding Roger about talking about Gordon...I know not everyone is a Jeff Gordon fan so I don't want to bore everyone away with talking about Gordon all the time. LOL. That was Kurt Busch that chose the Dukes theme song in driver introduction sometime last month. Surprised me it coming from him, but then again, I don't think I could guess any of their favorite music or artist or songs that they would chose. You are very welcome! I enjoy talking about the races so it gives insight to the rest of you that did not get to see it and it gives me an opportunity to talk or to vent about the race...which ever is fits the race. LOL Glad to hear you caught some of the race...some is better than none! Did you catch the end? Elliot Sadler blew all four tires there towards the end and then Sam Hornish Jr got in a somewhat scar accident running into the wall there at the end as well. Which is what caused the restarts there at the end and where Gordon lost his lead. Oh well, second is a pretty good place to finish up at and it helped him in points which is the main thing right now. JJ's accident was right there at the finish line... (See once I start talking about it, I don't stop. )

Thank-you Texas Daisy! NASCAR and Dukes are the two things I do love to talk about. LOL. After that race, I'd love to have a few comments about...We posted at the same time there it looks like. Did you enjoy it? I did...well until the end and then I got kinda frustrated. LOL. Am not a Kyle Busch fan and to top it off he had to steal the win from Gordon! Oh well, there's always next week. Just glad to see Gordon competing for the win, just hoping he'll soon get his win. LOL. Sorry to keep talking about Gordon...there are 42 other cars out there after all. LOL. There was a lot of good drivers out there that had a rough race. Stewart and Martin to name two of them. Surprised to see Martin get nailed for speeding on pit road, he is one that you never hear get caught speeding on pits. Johnson managed a tenth place finish but was fighting with his car all day and then right there at the end got caught in the accident - though was lucky enough to finish. As I said, I'll have to look up the points to be more definate on them later. What did the rest of you think of the race? How did your driver do?

Well, the race at Richmond has just finished and it was another fun and exciting race. Though this time, it didn't end with a green-white-checkered finish as they have the last few races. The first five finishers of the race were : Kyle Busch, Jeff Gordon, Kevin Harvick, Jeff Burton, and Carl Edwards. Found two things out interesting today - Carl Edwards led his first lap of the season today which he led while all the other cars were in pit and that Jeff Gordon has led the most laps this year of all the drivers - and yet remains winless! Kyle Busch had started first after winning the pole for today's race and led the first 221 laps until he started having some sort of car problems where he dropped back a few spots. Jeff Gordon led 144 laps until the final restart with five laps to go, Kyle got a better start to pass Gordon and was off for his first victory of the season (since Bristol of last August). Normally, I am happy with second place (Definately not as happy as I would be with a win, but all in all, second is pretty good) but Gordon wa so dominant today once he got in the lead and was so close to breaking his winless streak. I am beyond ready for him to move ahead of second to take the win that has alluded him this year so far to capitalize on all the good races he has had. As I said, second isn't so bad and is pretty good, and it helped boost him up in points, so I should be happy with what I got. He was just so close. LOL. Well talking about points...am not sure yet as to who is where. But for now Kevin Harvick stole the lead from Johnson (who finished tenth after getting in a last lap accident) and is ten points ahead of Johnson. I think Jeff Gordon moved up from tenth in points to sixth or fifth. I know Carl Edwards moved in the top twelve and Jr fell out of the top twelve and is thirteenth in points. As for now, that is all I know where they are point wise. Points will be made official on Monday so I will try to update it sometime this week. As I said it was a fun race - hope lots of you got to watch it. Found it kind of interesting t hat sometime during the first half of the race, Kyle Busch lapped so many cars t hat there were only nine cars on the lead lap! Never remember a race before with only nine cars on the lead lap. Lucky for most of the drivers that there was a caution and that the lapped cars were able to gain their laps back by the new lap around option for them. I think that put like 27 cars on the lead lap after that cuation break. LOL Now we will be onto Darlington next Saturday night.

Roger - I bet you and your grandson had a great time the other night at the track! That sounds like a lot of fun. No wonder why you like going to the track - other than to watch racing - with your meeting of Buzz. That would put a Duke connection to it and would bring back good memories as well! Thanks for sharing that!

Hmmm those are good questions and thoughts. Perhaps Jesse should send in his secret recipe for them to use. LOL. People criticize NASCAR? How rude! LOL. I guess they probably do use a lot of fuel, but what choice do they have? They run out of gas, no one's going to be watching the race for very long. Sadly, I heard the other day, that the NFL draft was on TV the other night and it got higher ratings than any race (except for the Daytona 500) does on Sunday. NASCAR is losing veiwers...I don't understand why. My opinion...they should shed with the chase and go back to the old way of doing it where they have to work and earn every point to get the championship as they did before the 2004 season. I understand why they did the chase format, but really dislike the whole ten extra points per win and getting rid of all the points going into the chase. I am not saying that is why I think the viewing has gone down, just saying the one thing I wish they would change. Though it will never happen... Well the race is tomorrow night at Richmond...another Saturday night race and I am excited. Anyone else? LOL. I love night racing! And this will be short track racing at that...no more Talledega and looking for the big one. Kyle Busch has got the pole for the race...can't remember who comes behind him. Seems like Johnson may be in third and Gordon fourth. Not a hundred percent sure on that, though know they start around that area and next to each other. I don't want to state the obvious, but I really want Gordon to break out of his run of bad luck and break his winless streak and get his first win of the season. Who y'all want to win?
  18. Though I am thinking they are right -the media makes too much out of things. They take what they say and make it into a big ordeal that really isn't there. I am just hoping that this is the end of things and that they will continue to be team mates and friends and work together...(I can always hope, right?) What's your take on the whole thing?

OK I will shut up now...you probably considered yourself lucky last week when I didn't bring it up. Huh? LOL. Hope all is well with you.

  19. So I am going to give Johnson another chance. I do like Johnson, but Gordon will always be my all time favorite driver (if you can't tell...)...so he better not do anything else to him! LOL. I hate this whole rivalry/feud the media is putting on them or even Johnson/Gordon called it a rivalry. I always liked thinking of them as friends though now they are saying they are friends, but not as they had been before. I'd much rather them be friends and work together and not against each other. But I guess they didn't ask me nor would they care what I had to say even if I did tell them. Well I guess they had a phone conference with eachother and Hendrick and everything is OK between them.

  20. LOL...I just looked back at my last few messages after the race. I am surprised I didn't write anything about the whole incident between Gordon and Johnson - know I've been reading and hearing all about it all week now. And am getting sick of it already. LOL. Was totally frustrated and upset at Johnson to pull a move like that after the race and for most of the week...especially after Texas. Afterall, how could he do that to Gordon? The one who brought him to NASCAR? His boss? LOL. But mostly how could he do that to my favorite driver? LOL ERRR. Anyway, was glad to finally hear his side of the story and why he did what he did and came to understand why. Kinda doubted the truth behind it, afterall, they do have team communications in the car, why hadn't he just called it in to Gordon? But I just listened in to his in car radio while it had happened and he immediately said he made a bad choice and wanted to apologize to Gordon's spotter. Not that it helped any. . .

  21. Well I hope that you are feeling and doing well...and that work isn't keeping you too busy or stressed. Hope your job search is going well and that you will get the job that you are wanting. Must be frustrating and bothersome to be in your position. I hope it will settle itself out for you and work out for the better.

  23. *Pulling my motorcycle to a halt in a wild weeded area to keep it hidden, I casually glance at my watch to find that I am five minutes early to meet Roger. I find myself smiling, for once, I am on time for something. Slowly I climb off my bike and carefully walk around before I reach the area of where I am to meet Roger at. Not seeing him. I find a large tree to lean upon where I can stay hidden and out of sight and yet have good view as to see if and when Roger will show up as to meet up with him.*

I've never been to the newspaper website before. I get my NASCAR info from NASCAR.com and from Yahoo! NASCAR's page. There was several articles on the Yahoo site about Gordon and Johnson and then Johnson taking responsibility for it. I really hope that it all was the mistake he said it was and that this is the end of it between the two. Hopefully they will talk...that they will remain friends through it all and work through it. Talledega is a dangerous track...ask Carl Edwards. LOL. I thought it was neat that he took the girl that got hurt from his accident last year at Talledega back to the race and then met up with her and signed his racing helmet to give to her. I don't really think I heard anything about the fuel or the ethenol. I've heard awhile ago that they were working on things to go greener or something like that so maybe that was what it wtas about and I really didn't read it. I don't know, but you know more about it than I do. It will be interesting to see what that will do.
