  1. I'm wondering who it is that takes all the financial risks and reaps all the financial benefits of DukesFest. Is it just John or are there others who have money wrapped up in it? The (financial) bottom line is the most important thing here to the people who are financially involved. Us fans who are in it for the love of the show can sometimes forget that. If I was John, I would find out how many people pay (that astronomical amount) for Adam West autographs. (They must be true fans of his to pay that much.) Then subtract the amount they paid to get into the place from the amount he has to pay Adam and see if he made a profit. My guess would be that he's going to lose a lot of money from inviting Mr West and will be smart enough to not do something like that again.
  2. Thanks so much for that history lesson MM. It was really cool learning that. When I read your post, I caught myself sounding like Waylon from "Happy Birthday General Lee" when he found out that the General was painted orange because Cooter didn't have enough of any other color...."All this time I always wondered how that happened" (Well, it goes something like that) Thanks again for creating the Hazzardnet.
  3. Welcome to Hazzard County Redneck Girl. Anybody who would smile that long after meeting a Davenport and a Duke, sure belongs here with the rest of us hicks. Welcome to the party and buckle up for safety. "What this world needs is a few more rednecks" --Charlie Daniels
  4. It looks like Daisy is trying to extend her record and break the 60 mark and on the trivia thread Alex is trying to extend his record and break the big 40. Which of these were on the show? Loretta Lynn Canyon or Waylon Corners Redtail Hawk Peak or Crow's Ridge Hangman's Hill or Gunslinger Gulch
  5. You're both right....Enos and Cletus. Alex is going for 40 here... Fill in the blank of this business in town... Marybelle's (BLANK) Shop
  6. *back at the farm, Jesse gets out of the truck and goes inside to drink a glass of apple juice*
  7. *calmly* Nah, I ain't changed my mind. He needs ta be left alone. *looks down at firewood and picks off a dry piece of bark and starts breaking it up while thinking*
  8. *Puts supplies in truck after leaving Rhuebottoms then walks over to post office and takes a number then explains to Miz Tisdale that the boys ordered a bunch of back issues of Muscle Car Monthly magazine that they were expecting to come in today. After convincing her that it was okay for him to pick up their mail (by telling her he'd take her to the Catfish dinner at the Fire Hall Saturday night) Jesse hops in truck and drives back to the farm*
  9. *gets ready to walk in house but then spots Luke out of the corner of his eye by the big oak tree and yells* Hey Luke, come on over here would ya? *sits down on wood pile*
  10. That's quite a post you've put up here Laura. I'm sure you've heard the saying "you're a hard act to follow". Well, it certainly applies in this case. I know it's been way overstated here but I gotta say it again. Everybody here really is like family. If somebody posts something that is personal and sad we hurt for them. If it's happy, we smile with them. If they haven't posted for awhile we worry about them. Like family, some friendships are stronger than others amongst members. After I met DaisyMae, Daney and TimDuke in person, I feel real close to all 3 of them. What a great group of people they are!! My first close friend on here was BoJamesDuke and our friendsip is awesome. Laura and General Grant are also 2 people I feel close to. The both of you have such positive attitudes, it rubs off on people. And of course I have to mention Lori and Julie, you 2 are great. I feel like I'm giving a speech at an awards ceremony here....but finally I want to thank the moderators for all the time they put into the Hazzardnet...MaryAnne, Brian and Meadowmuffin. I didn't realize, until someone explained it to me recently, that none of this would be possible without Meadowmuffin. I don't know the complete history of the Hazzardnet (I would love it if MM could briefly post some details) but from what I understand, we owe this entire thing to our much loved Supreme Superior Commander. Thank you so much MM for making this possible. I hope you are aware how much joy you have brought to all us fans. Because of you, we're not just people who watch a TV show. We're truly residents of the best place on the planet, Hazzard County. We love ya Meadowmuffin.
  11. All 3 of you are right. He nominated himself for "Lawman of the Year" Alex extends his world record to 38 correct answers....SWEET! DoubleX has 30. Which lawman (or lawmen) ended up winning that award? (Given out by the secret observer, Mis Tizdale)
  12. You're both right. DaisyMae is unbelievable. She has now gotten 58 in a row correct and continues to extend her own world record. DoubleX still had 42. I'll post 3 more tonight.
  13. *watching the last of the dust cloud disappear and muttering to himself* Boys sure don't like to listen ta common sense when they're in love *turns around in direction of house but then pauses* I remember what that was like *smiles and steps away lively*
  14. John Schneider once said that the show would have succeeded if the General would have been a Gremlin instead of a Charger and I think he's right. I agree with Brian and Meadowmuffin that the people come first. When I met TimDuke recently at a car show, I would have still gone even if there wasn't a single car there (except the one that I needed to get there). I went there to meet Tim, Daney, DaisyMae and most of all Sheriff Rosco P Coltrane. There was one General there and one sheriff's car too but seeing those vehicles didn't nearly give me as big of thrill as meeting an awesome Dukes fan like Tim. Every Dukes fan loves the General though and every Dukes fan admires and respects anyone who has gone through all the work and expense to get one. It takes true love and dedication to the Dukes to do something like that and us fans who don't own Generals are insanely jealous of people like Tim. We are all a family here so it hurts me to see people I care about arguing but on the other hand a good debate can be healthy on occasion and it can make us all stronger. This kinda reminds me of Army soldiers and Marines arguing over which is the better branch of the service. Sometimes those debates can be fun but the bottom line is that they are all there for the same purpose of serving our country and should never let their differences get in the way of that bigger mission. (even though everbody knows that Marines are better) I was really enjoying the Batman vs Dukes thing and if I could make a humble request, let's nudge this debate back to that instead. What do you say Tim old buddy, sound like a plan? I'm gone.
  15. Well that's a good question Laura. They's been a few city slickers that have been around and wanted ta know if Maudeen was a boy horse or girl horse...of course that doesn't answer yer question 'cause it's not really somethin' Maudeen did. I suppose the funniest thing was the time we had her over ta Capitol City Speedway. Ya see they was remodling things over there and we had this real bad wet spring. I swear, it rained nearly every day that spring. The ground was so wet, them racetrack folks was forced to hired out local mules ta do some of the work 'cause them heavy tractors was ruttin' up the place too much. Anyway, old Maudeen seen something one day and set off after it. At first I didn't know what she was chasin then it dawned on me, she saw that pretty green Astroturf they got there around the concession stand area. As soon as Maudeen got there, she started chewing on that fake grass quick as a wink until I runned over there and pulled her off it. It weren't her fault though. That there was the perrtiest lookin' grass she'd ever seen.
  16. *a cloud of dust follows as Jesse is driving down Old Mill Road in the pick-up with the list on his seat and concern on his mind*
  17. Wow Laura, Thank you. This really nice and a great idea. I'll respond later when I have more time.
  18. I'm gone *grabs his keys and wallet and walks toward dirty white Ford truck*
