    Is it just me?

Thanks Garrett *smiles* I really appreciate your thoughtful post. I saw "Christmas Comes to Willow Creek" a long time ago. I hope ABC Family or somebody runs it sometime this month. If anybody sees it coming up please post it. It really is good. Hopefully you'll get a chance to see it.
  2. Hey Garrett, they had a story on the local TV weather that a relatively cool summer like we had often means that we WON'T get a lot of snow. So far, they're right. I really don't mind the snow but the only thing I worry about is people (especially my loved ones) getting hurt in car wrecks. My relatives are all safe drivers but it's the other feller that I worry about. At least my kids are all older now. I really worried when they were young drivers.
  3. Sorry but Cale drove the number 28 car. Pick the TWO things that went wrong with the General Lee on "Danger on the Hazzard Express" A) it got stolen the carbeurator float valve went bad C) it got painted green D) it got wired up with a remote control E) it lost the Hazzard Derby F) Dodge recalled it

    Is it just me?

I'm guessing that I'm the only person on the HazzardNet who feels this way but I thought I'd throw these comments out there anyways just so the few new folks out there who didn't know I'm crazy know it now. Recently I was chatting with someone and the subject of "Christmas Comes To Willow Creek" came up. I know I should like the stuff that the Dukes stars did after Dukes was done filming but I don't as much as I should. Well, I kinda do......but I don't love it a lot. I know I should and I really want to support the stars of the show but I can't seem to see past Hazzard County. Words can't describe how appreciative I am of the actors and of everyone involved in making the show (especially Gy Waldron) but I have just never been able to get into any post-Dukes stuff. I love the real actors who played on the show but I love the characters much more. To me, Tom Wopat is not real. Luke is. John Schneider is just some fellow who played Superman's dad. Bo Duke is still in his twenties chasing girls and running from the law in Hazzard....and he always will be. I can't accept anything else and nobody can make me. I couldn't even accept the reunion movies. All three Dukes would have never left Jesse at the same time. Besides God and family, The Dukes of Hazzard has been the single most important thing that has influenced my life. Part of me realizes that it was just a show. A bigger part of me realizes that it's NOT just a show and that second part overwhelmes the first part so much, I just cannot accept the fact that Hazzard County isn't real...and I won't. Maybe I'm cracking up but I don't care. I still buy stuff put out by the Dukes stars like Tom and John's music, Ben Jones' and James Best's book etc., and I recommend every Dukes fan does because it's good stuff but I just can't accept the fact that they were only actors. I guess there's a big DISadvantage to being such a die-hard fan and living in such a fantasy world. But there's a big advantage too. In my world, Jesse and Boss are still around...and Waylon's still talking about 'em.
  7. Here it is December 5 on the southern shore of Lake Erie between Cleveland and Buffalo and we just had our first snowfall. Normally by now, we'd have two feet of the white stuff, although much of that would have melted. However, our first snow came today at 4pm (EST). I saw in the newspaper that Houston got snow on Friday. I saw on the national news that Georgia, Alabama and other states in the south got snow Friday also. If not Friday, then Saturday morning. Think about that. How often is it that the Deep South of Dixie gets snow BEFORE parts of the Great Lakes? Has that ever happened before? I don't know about you folks but I find this absolutely amazing.

  21. If there was a dictionary of Hazzard County words and you looked up the word "fanatic" there's no doubt you would find a picture of DaisyMaeDuke beside it. Because of her pure love and devotion to the greatest television show in history, we are awarding her HazzardNet's fan of the month for December. If you're not already sitting down, you'd better do it now because reading the list of Daisy's accomplishments is going to take awhile. Daisy was born at a very early age.... I apologize for the bad joke.....Well, she did become a Dukes fan at a very early age. When she was just 5 years old she got hooked on the show when it was originally being aired. Little did anyone know at the time that that cute little rug rat would go on to receive the highest honor possible. At DukesFest 2008, Daisy was justly selected as "The Ultimate Duke Fan". Daisy joined the HazzardNet on July 8, 2007 and this place hasn't been the same since. She has over 5,300 posts since that time and has been involved in countless Round Robins and Role Plays. But, what Daisy really specializes in is Fanfics. She has written or co-written a long list of them including, Dukes in Danger, Lost, A Hazzard County Christmas, Turkey Surprise, I'll be Home for Christmas, Witness, Switch, The Gift of the Magi-Dukes Stlye and Letters from War Series. Daisy can very often be found frequenting the various threads on the trivia forum. She usually gets them right!! In fact, she has a prestigious record that will likely never get broken. In mid June 2009, she had answered over 300 Duke or Dupes correctly before missing one. To illistrate how amazing of an accomplishment that is, try going to Duke or Dupe after reading this and getting all three right. If you can pull off all 3 now try it 103 times for a total of 309 in a row. Answering that many is an accomplishment. Answering them correctly is impossible...well, almost. Daisy has met nearly every living star of the show in real life, many of them multiple times. That list of stars includes Bo, Luke, Daisy, Rosco, Cooter, Enos, Cletus, Coy and even Sheriff Big Ed Little. She owns one of the largest collections of Dukes memorbilia in existence with way too many items to list but no doubt, every single one of them is special to her. A resident of Michigan (Go Wolverines) Daisy has been happily married for 13 years and keeps busy with her two kids and her job in public education. Her favorite singers are (you guessed it) John Schneider and Tom Wopat. Her favorite Christmas show is (you guessed it again) "Christmas Comes To Willow Creek" staring John Schneider and Tom Wopat. Even Cletus Hogg would be smart enough to see a trend here. Speaking of trends, we're predicting Daisy will be around the HazzardNet for many years to help us continue a the trend we have here of honoring our favorite television show. We almost hate to call it a "television show" because it's so much more to us.....and that's not just because of what we see on the screen. It's also because of the strong bond we have here as a HazzardNet family. Folks like Daisy make the foundation for that family.

  25. Sweet. The Georgia episodes are my favorite. I know it's a long ways from northwestern Pennsylvania where I live but it still reminds me of home....especially the woods....High Octane looks like it was filmed in my backyard. Thanks for posting these dukefan1. Hey, since you're from Ohio, check out the Sonny Shroyer thread.
