  2. Since I know both songs, this is going to be a 50-50 guess which came first. Old Time Lovin'
  3. Whenever I retire and have a little more time on my hands I want to buy an old fixer up to work on. I love working on older cars. There's a real sense of satisfaction knowing you fixed something. That's becoming a thing of the past.

  5. Hey Bo, it seems to me that the yellow hat you're talking about is the same one Cooter had worn before. Must be Bo gave it to Cooter years later.
  6. You Ain't Seen Nothin' Yet (Normally I go with older country songs but this is an older rock song)
  7. Old Cale never made it down to the Boar's Nest fer that buttermilk. Word is Rosco has him in the pokey after catching him in that speedtrap up there on Old Post Road. I guess Cale didn't get my warning.

    Nascar

It looks like I'm going to be getting into NASCAR this year so it's fun to have a thread here on the HazzardNet to help me out since I don't really know much about it. No, I don't know how old Cale is. I bet he's in his late 60s but that's just a guess. So, do they think the spoilers will be cutting down on how fast they can go or isn't it going to make that much of a difference? If it saves lives, I'm sure the fans wouldn't mind if they went a couple mph slower. MaryAnne said she wasn't able to make it all capitals. Apparently it's a technical reason so we'll have to live with it. Let's hope we have a safe race tomorrow. Thanks for keeping us updated Garrett.

  11. Hi MaryAnne, would it be possible to get NASCAR put in all capital letters on the hobbies forum? I typed it in caps but it went to small letters. I've had that happen before. Sorry for being nit-picky but Hazzard folks take their NASCAR seriousely. Thanks

    Nascar

Somewhere around here we have an old NASCAR thread but I'm too lazy to look for it. Since today (March 27) is the birthday of the greatest NASCAR driver of all time, Mr. Cale Yarborough, I thought it would be a great day to start a new NASCAR thread so here it is. Hey, Garrett, what can you tell us about this weekend's race? By the way, I'm sending a moderator a PM to see if I can get NASCAR in capital letters on the heading like it should be. I typed in in caps but it came out with smaller letters.

    Sports

Hey Garrett, was that you who sent me the name of the old NASCAR thread? I think it was in one of the General Discussion catagories. I think you should revive that so it has the NASCAR name on it or, better yet, start a new NASCAR thread here on the hobbies forum. There might be more NASCAR fans out there who want to get in on it but aren't clicking on this one because it only says "Sports" I'd like to get into it this year and seeing it on the forum screen would encourage me. On second thought, I'll start it. Today's Cale's birthday.
  14. My wife and I rented "The Taking of Pelham 123" tonight. Normally I don't read credits at the end of a movie but for some reason I caught these. After the name Gary Baxley caught my eye I backed it up to make sure I read it right. After that, I went to his bio on the internet, and sure enough, Hazzard County's very own Gary Baxley was one of the stunt men on that movie. I wish I would have know which stunt (or stunts) he did. It's always a thrill to see a Hazzardite's name on the screen when you're not expecting it.
  15. Hi T.J. You're sure a welcome new addition to the HazzardNet. I sure hope ya hang around a long time.

  16. I gotta hand it to you T.J., you're braver than me if you tried that. I've only seen the show once but anybody that would do that has guts. Don't get me wrong, I'm no wimp. I'd risk my life to protect my family and friends or even a stranger in some cases but I'd never drive in some of those conditions unless I had to. How often is that on?
  17. I know the answer to this one but since it's your first question I'll wait to see who else gets it. You're off to a great start. I knew I had no reason to worry. (Just kidding, I'm shaking like a nervous leaf in a tornado)
  18. Happy Birthday Cale Yarborough!! (March 27) Meet ya at the Boar's Nest for a buttermilk. Watch out for those speed traps on the way. I think Rosco has one set up on Old Post Road.
  19. Bo 17 Luke 15 Daisy 11 Jesse 14 Cooter 14 Boss 4 Rosco 11 Enos 14 I gave one to Enos and took one from Boss
  20. Thanks for knowing how I feel T.J. It's getting to the point that poor people can't even work on cars anymore. It's a good thing there are no computers in Hazzard 'cause poor Bo and Luke would have never been able to afford to work on the General if it had all the gizmos on it that these modern monstrosities do. If I looked under the hood of a 1969 Charger I'd be able to tell you what 95% of the things are and what they do. If I looked under the hood of a new car, I bet I wouldn't know 5% of what's there. You can't even see spark plugs anymore, let alone replace them. I used to be able to change starters, distributors, alternators, fuel pumps, carburators, water pumps and power steering pumps. Now I can't even find them. (I've looked all over the place for the carburator on my fuel injected Volvo but it's nowhere to be found...LOL)
  21. B.L., GeneralLeeGirl and texasdaisy got it right. Hey folks, instead of a question, here's a declaration. Somebody else is going to be posting trivia questions for awhile. I'm not really sure how long, only time will tell, but it's going to be fun for me ANSWERING questions for a change (and showing people how bad my memory is). All I can say is buckle up for safety, this could be a rough ride. (Just kidding the trivia thread is in good hands)
  22. You Ain't Woman Enough (Loretta Lynn)
  23. LOL It was so funny that Cooter thought it was fun (and not serious) to do something like that. Here's some comments about "Days of Shine and Roses" 1) I too loved the old footage of Boss and Jesse. 2) It was awesome that Bo and Luke had so much respect for their elders that they wore ties to see the old film. 3) Jesse and Boss were living their second childhood---great stuff! 4) I loved Cooter's comment when one of the boys called him a genius for getting the Mustang to run so well "And I've always been known for my good looks" 5) What a classic battle for car buffs...a Mustang vs a Camero. Of course neither of them cars would have stood a chance against a Charger 6) Watching Bo and Luke helping Jesse without him knowing, so as to not hurt his pride was cool 7) Seeing Rosco in civilian cloths was rare 8) What an action scene where Cooter had to replace the shine with water on the moving vehicles....whew! 9) 5 out of 5
