  1. Good point MaryAnne. They don't even have any folks with southern drawls as news-people. CNN certainly doesn't respresent Hazzard County Georgia that's for sure....but I suppose they're not trying to. LOL for some reason I'm reminded of Uncle Jesse's quote...."And don't go taking advantage of those city folks just 'cause they don't know no better."
  2. Welcome to the HazzardNet!

  3. That is so cool! I get so excited whenever I see or hear Dukes references on TV or in songs. If you go down to Boss's forum and click on the "Boss...CNN" thread you'll see I recently heard a Dukes reference myself. Thanks so much for sharing that with us. It made me smile!
  4. I don't know this one. Since Cooter always said "Take it easy greezy" I'm going to guess E. Great question Hoss!
  5. Welcome to Hazzard County Orange Crush. It's sounds like you're going to fit in here nicely. We're happy to have you and look forward to your posts.
  6. Val, you've reminded me of one of my favorite sayings, "You're only young once but you can be immature forever." The Dukes of Hazzard does make me feel young because no matter how many times I watch it the folks on there haven't gotten any older and since they're like family to me, that means I haven't gotten any older. That's one reason I don't even own the reunion shows. I don't want to be reminded that Boss died and I don't want to see my hero Jesse looking frail. They completely ruined the fantasy for me so I just pretend they were never made. On the movie "Field of Dreams" James Earl Jones says (something like) "The one thing you could always count on is baseball." Well, Uncle Roger Duke is telling you, The one thing you can always count on is The Dukes of Hazzard. (After God and family, of course). So take the advice of MaryAnne and watch the Dukes of Hazzard to stay young in spirit. And take my advice and throw yourself into the fantasy. It sounds like you are turning the fantasy off as soon as you pop the DVD out of the machine. I'm sure you've heard the joke "I went to the doctor and told him it hurts when I do this and his response was, don't do that." If it hurts when you stop watching an episode then stop watching Dukes altogether. JUST KIDDING! If it hurts after you watch an episode then you shouldn't have made the mistake of shutting your young spirit off when the DVD went off. Keep the episode in your heart and it will keep you feeling young. Meadowmufn made a good point about Miz Tisdale. Look at some of the old timers on the show like her, Uncle Jesse, Swamp Molly and Hard Luck Jones. They were young at heart. You can follow their example.....put please don't ride any wheelies like Miz Tisdale. She's been doing that since motorcycles were invented and she's a trained professional postmistress dirt biker. And in my blissful fantasy world, she'll never stop.
  7. Hoss, those are three of the people who were on the panel I was talking about. The guy on the left didn't know who Boss Hogg was. When one of the ladies explained that he was on Starsky and Hutch she was quickly corrected by someone else who knew what she was talking about. The guy on the left (I think his name is Jeff Toobin) is CNN's legal expert. He might know a lot about the law but I kinda feel sorry for the poor feller, not being exposed to the finer things in life when he was a young man. By the way, look at the bottom of the sceeen on that CNN shot. Them fancy folks from the big city don't even know how to spell Hogg.
  8. Welcome to the HazzardNet!

  9. Friday (I'm old enough to remember when the original Dragnet series was on)
  10. Hmmm, good one. Was it Agent Buchanan? I'm not sure but that's my guess. As far as Jesse's buddy goes, I know it but I'll give someone else a chance to guess. Thanks for posting a question!
  11. Welcome to the HazzardNet!

  12. This is a weird coincidence. If you go to the "Boss Hogg...CNN" thread that I just posted the one person on the panel I was talking about thought Boss Hogg was from Starsky and Hutch. Fortunately someone corrected her right away. I'm just surprised that I would hear about two Dukes-Starsky connections in two days...weird.
  13. In case any of you new folks here don't know this.... This trivia thread was intended for everyone to ask trivia questions so if you have any...ask away. I'm only posting this because I thought it might be possible that folks might have noticed that me and Hoss have been the only two asking questions in the past. While that may be true, it hasn't been that way because others weren't permitted to post questions, it's only been that way simply because people haven't posted questions. We have some knowledgable new folks here so, like I said, ask away... Just make sure you're 100% sure of the answer before you ask!
  14. Boss always wanted to be Governor of Georgia but lately a different Governor has been getting a little publicity for Boss. Before leaving office Governor Haley Barbour of Mississippi pardoned a few people from jail and that's been stirring up a lot of controversy on a national level. Since the moderators here are smart enough to not let us talk about politics, I'll be careful how I word this and not discuss the pardons themselves. Yesterday morning, a panel of folks were talking on CNN about Haley Barbour and several references were made comparing him to Boss Hogg. Tonight on CNN the attorney general of Mississippi was also making references to Boss Hogg. I sure got a chuckle out of it. By the way, CNN is based it Atlanta. That's just a coincidence of course but it does make the story even funnier.

  16. To casual fans like me it doesn't seem like it's much time between NASCAR seasons but to die-hard fans like you two, this break is taking forever. Hang in there! Hey, NASCAR turns orange when I type it. It must be magic! (or a moderator) Woah, it's not orange anymore. What's going on?
  17. Welcome to Hazzard County Ramiro. It sure sounds like you love the Dukes of Hazzard...so, you're going to love the HazzardNet! We're happy to have you here.
  18. Spoken like a TRUE Dukes fan. You're a great addition to the HazzardNet!

  20. Here's the answers... 1-B-England 2-B-Bo and Luke 3-A-Big Jake Marley 4-A-Jesse Duke 5-B-a roofless garbage hauler For the record, according to the regular series Jesse's wife wasn't named Elsie. She was named Martha or Lavinia depending on which episode she was mentioned. I like to think that Martha was her middle name and he occasionally called her by her middle name but it's subject to each individual's interpretation.
  21. You amaze me with this stuff Hoss. And BTW congratulations on your 2000th post!
  22. Welcome to the HazzardNet!
