  1. Thanks for all the thoughtful comments. We seem to have a ball rolling now so let's keep it going and keep talking about this. It sounds like it's no coincidence that facebook and twitter are peaking at the same time the HazzardNet is coming down. I don't understand how those things work and I'm not really interested but I doubt they'd miss a hundred folks out of the 2 billion that they have so is there any chance you folks who use those two things could get on there and do a little song and dance and try to get folks back here? On second thought, maybe that violates some kind of internet protocol. Maybe we should wait and see what Meadowmufn thinks of the idea.
  2. I'll wait until tomorrow to reveal the answer. You're more than welcome to post questions Roth. If you do, here's a little friendly advice....don't make them too hard or too easy.
  3. Not only that but we're pretty competitive with each other. Thank goodness this is the All-Star Week in baseball or we'd be fighting all week as usual. Which reminds me, who has more players in the All-Star game, the Cubs, Pirates or Reds?
  4. Welcome to the HazzardNet Roy!
  5. The more I think about my post earlier today the more I realize we're dealing with a problem here that is bigger than simply tweaking the forums a little bit to improve them. My big concern is that interest in the Dukes of Hazzard is fading and that's why we're not seeing as many people log in. There is a chance I'm wrong though. I think the idea was floating around awhile ago that facebook and twitter have taken over and more people have moved to those type of things. This concerns me because I'm not interested in those two things. We have a great thing with our forums and I'd like to see if we can revive it to its glory days. Since I don't understand the facebook and twitter world maybe I'm fighting an uphill battle. Maybe the world of forums is coming to an end. It's a scary thought and that is why I was reluctant to start this post but ignoring the problem won't make it better.
  6. Which country music star appeared on "The Sound of Music-Hazzard Style"? A) Loretta Lynn Johnny Paycheck C) Kenny Chesney D) Tammy Wynette E) Charlie Daniels F) Taylor Swift G) Mickey Gilley F) Buck Owens
  7. I don't know about the rest of you but I'm getting a little depressed that the HazzardNet seems to be past its prime. I know we've had ups and downs here but this downturn in posts seems to be a little more serious than the down cycles we've had in the past. Don't get me wrong, there's still some great things going on here, like Roth and Hoss's behind the scenes thread and Garrett's very active NASCAR threads but overall this place has gotten slower than a snail running on fumes and two flat tires in molasses. We need to find a way to do something about it. Let's use this thread to kick around some ideas. My first idea is to revive the trivia thread so that's what I'm going to do. My next idea is a suggestion to the moderators. Is there any way the behind the scenes thread can be moved up to one of the forums toward the top? I suspect that some casual users never scroll down that far and that thread is an amazing asset to the HazzardNet and is of headline quality. Okay folks let's hear it.
  8. My guess is that she didn't have a fat suit but that's only a guess. Either way she was still a beautiful lady and is very missed.
  9. I've never heard that quote before Hoss but it's quite clever!
  10. I can't fault anyone for being inconsistent or I'd be a hypocrite. I mean, one day I think Miz Tisdale is the prettiest girl in Hazzard County and the next day I think it's Swamp Molly. The day after that I think it's Cousin Alice and the next day I favor Grannie Annie. I just can't make up my mind. Now if my wife lived in Hazzard County she'd be the clear choice.
  11. I just got done flipping through all the posts I've missed on this thread since my computer problems....FANTASTIC!!!
  12. It's just a lot tougher in football since there's so few games compared to basketball, baseball and hockey. Every game feels like the playoffs and it's just a lot more intense. Still, I suspect in a weak moment I won't be able to resist so PM me the information....LOL After getting beat by you so bad in fantasy NASCAR I'm looking for revenge.
  13. Maybe not but every time I see the obituaries I see a lot of folks in their 50s in there. (I'm 53) But I'm not worried about it. I leave those decisions to the Good Lord.
  14. And it's folks like you who will keep the Dukes torch burning long after us original fans have passed onto Hazzard Heaven. We're depending on you.
  15. I have to think about it Garrett. I don't really like fantasy football because I don't like watching Steeler games while I'm secretly rooting for players on my fantasy team to do well against my Steelers. Dividing my loyalties is tough on me. Still, I'm going to consider it. Plus, my computer is always causing troubles and frustrating me to no end. We got a new modem yesterday so hopefully that will help.
  16. Thanks Hoss. My life isn't the same without HazzardNet so it works both ways. Folks like you are why I feel that way.
  17. father (LLLLLuke, I am your father Luke)
  18. We just had our modem replaced. It was included in our contract so it didn't cost anything. It sounds like there's a good chance a lot of our problems might be behind us. It's good to be back!
  19. We have had more trouble with this computer in a year than all the 10 years combined with our old computer. It doesn't matter what we do or who helps us with it, it is nothing but trouble. I've gotten to the point where I hate the thing and just want to quit using it altogether. If I don't step away from it and take some deep breaths for a few days I'm going to smash this piece of garbage. It has basically become unusable again so I suppose we'll need to call in yet another expert to help. I feel so battle fatigued from constantly fighting it.
  20. LOL Well I wouldn't exactly word it like that Garrett but I will say that your Cubs have NOT had losing seasons the last 21 years in a row.
  21. mechanic
  22. The Pittsburgh Pirates have become the first team in the majors to hit the 50 win mark. This is a feat they haven't accomplished since 1960 when little RogerDuke was wearing diapers. By the way, they won the World Series that year. For Pirate fans though we'd just be happy for a winning season, something we haven't seen in 20 years. No other team in American big league sports has ever been that bad.
  23. What a coincidence that you would post something from the cartoon series! (post 186, cartoon of Coy and Vance with Catherine) Just earlier this evening I watched a couple of the cartoon episodes with my 4 year old grandson. Thanks again for all these great contributions!
  24. The Pirates have become the first team to win 49 games this year!
