There was some fireworks here on the HazzardNet last baseball season when Garrett lost a friendly bet to yours truly on who would win the most regular season games, the Pirates or Cubs. Needless to say, Garrett has a bit of a temper when the Cubbies have a bad year. Get ready to run for cover in September because it could happen again.
Congratulations on Jeff Gordon finishing second Garrett. After a banner week at fantasy NASCAR two races ago I returned to my normal pathetic self with my Sonoma picks. But the good news is that you didn't beat me in our match up in fantasy baseball. I came from behind for a 6-6 tie. If I would have lost you'd be teasing me for the next 9 weeks (when I beat you in our rematch). Sorry to change the subject but I'm so bad at fantasy NASCAR I just can't help myself.
LOL When my oldest grandson was about 5 or 6, I remember him saying "When I grow up I want to be the guy who sets off fireworks." I suppose there's going to be a lot of kids at those Reds games who look up to your dad more than they do the players.
Hopefully you'll get the chance soon K-Duke. My grandparents took us to a lot of Pirate games in the early 70s when Three Rivers Stadium first opened in Pittsburgh. As an adult I've been to four Major League Baseball games....one in Toronto and 3 in Pittsburgh. In Toronto Roger Clemens struck out 16. I've been to three NBA games. All of them were in Cleveland when they were playing my Minnesota Timberwolves. I've been to three NFL games, two in Pittsburgh and one in Buffalo.....all won by the home teams. I've been to just one NHL game (in Pittsburgh vs NY Rangers.) I got a fantastic close up picture of Wayne Gretzsky.
Thanks for these great reviews. I have the Ertl but now I want the AutoWorld General Lee! By the way, there's more info on this subject 5 sections down under "General Lee Diecast Question" beside "Dukes of Hazzard Collectibles and Memorabilia"
I wish I could help but I can't. I know how frustrating it can be to have defective episodes. I have a few episodes with problems that must have come from the factory with defects. For example, I can only see half of "Jude Emery".
These miniatures with full sized people beside them are bizarre looking. Even though I knew these scenes were filmed in miniatures it still is shocking to see them. As always, thanks for posting these.
Thanks for looking for the author Hoss. I saw it in a baseball card price guide magazine probably 20 years ago. Here's one I like that I heard a long time ago and have no idea where I heard it or who came up with it. It requires a little more thought than the last one. They can't fire me. I'm not doing anything.
Did you come close to getting any foul balls? My friend caught one at the Pirate game on Saturday. I wasn't there though. He just told me about it. In fact I haven't been to a game since July 10, 2011 when my Pirates crushed your Cubbies. Ahhhh, good memories *smiles*
Those Robertson boys must be Dukes fans because I continue to find references to our favorite show. Tonight I was watching an episode where the Robertson wives were having a yard sale while the boys were gone. I had seen this episode once before but somehow this part of one scene went by too fast for me to notice. During the sale there was a souped up garden tractor that was being driven by a potential buyer...... The garden tractor was orange, had an 01 on the side and said "General Lee" on the front engine cover! In addition to that, I heard yet another reference to Boss Hogg in a different episode so I think I'm up to counting 5 Dukes references.
