  1. I interpret that to mean "Watch as many Dukes episodes as possible." But then again I interpret any deep philosophical idea to mean "Watch as many Dukes episodes as possible."
  2. Sad news indeed. It always hurts to lose someone who was on the show. I loved his part in those two episodes. He was a very talented actor.
  3. Well K-Duke, your Reds just beat my Pirates 5-3. It sure was an odd way to score 3 runs. The Pirates had 3 solo homers, all in the same inning!
  4. nothing (scientists claim that the Big Bang came from nothing but when you learn more about it you find out that it's not true nothingness. Something has always been there)
  5. I have 5 out of the 6 Annuals that you posted. The one that I'm missing is the upper left one. They were made in England and they're not really magazines because they have hard covers. And no, I can't scan stuff. At least I don't think I can. I'd have to ask my wife since my computer skills are nearly non existent. I just love this thread! Thanks again for everything.
  6. And don't forget that the Dukes cartoon DVDs are a great place to get future Dukes fans started.
  7. You're both right. He claimed it was a 1968. Also from Happy Birthday General Lee what was hidden inside the General that the robber couple wanted? A) diamonds $20,000 cash C) gold dust D) moonshine D) The complete DVD collection of The Kardashians.
  8. penny (Abe Lincoln is on the American penny)
  9. Hang in there K-Duke. Healing takes one day at a time. I love these old TV Guide pictures. I have a bunch of the originals saved with my Dukes stuff. I sure wish the Enos spinoff series would become available.
  10. K-Duke. as you can tell by my "need ideas now" thread I've been a little worried about the future of the Dukes but I'm fine now thanks to you! My daughters aren't Dukes fans but I'm trying to pass the tradition down to my grandchildren. Your words are very encouraging!
  11. Thanks for everything Meadowmufn. We appreciate all you've done for Dukes of Hazzard fans all over the world since the moment the HN first debuted. I only wish I would have been here since day one. Things are sure picking up here and it's nice to know that you're in charge. We're certainly in good hands. I think your idea is awesome. I wish I could help but I'll be at my nephew's graduation party then. It's the only thing I have planned for the weekend so I'm open for other suggestions unless you can get enough folks that I wouldn't be needed. Thanks for making the HazzardNet the number 01 website on the internet. Hey, that could be a subtitle for the homepage. "We're number 01"
  12. LOL That really was a guess. I'm surprised that I got it right Roth. For lack of being able to come with anything better I'm agreeing with K-Duke. I just watched "Happy Birthday General Lee" earlier today. What year did the old-timer who sold the black future General Lee to the Duke boys INCORRECTLY say that the 1969 was when he was being questioned by the robbers? A) 1968 1970 C) 1979
  13. Sorry Garrett but I'm going to pass (no pun intended) on fantasy football this year. I'm losing my interest in fantasy sports and I'll need time off from it after baseball season to decide if I'm going to give it up altogether. A Dukes of Hazzard RP after fantasy baseball season sounds like fun though. By the way, you might want to consider an updated SIFF issue.
  14. Going off topic is something we specialize in around here so we wouldn't mind. We're just happy to have you here and hope you stay a long time.
  15. I hope everything goes well. Let us know as soon as you can how it went.
  16. You're both right. It's Mickey Gilley. Hey, check out this trivia classic quote. It's from none other than James Best himself when he used to hang out here. I was wrong when I posted that James had met his wife on the set of the Dukes episode "The Rustlers". It turned out they met at his acting school. I'm lucky that I'm still not sitting in the Hazzard County Jail for that flub up. This quote can be found on page 201 of this trivia thread and is post #1490 and was written on 3-12-09.
  17. Thanks for all the thoughtful comments. We seem to have a ball rolling now so let's keep it going and keep talking about this. It sounds like it's no coincidence that facebook and twitter are peaking at the same time the HazzardNet is coming down. I don't understand how those things work and I'm not really interested but I doubt they'd miss a hundred folks out of the 2 billion that they have so is there any chance you folks who use those two things could get on there and do a little song and dance and try to get folks back here? On second thought, maybe that violates some kind of internet protocol. Maybe we should wait and see what Meadowmufn thinks of the idea.
  18. I'll wait until tomorrow to reveal the answer. You're more than welcome to post questions Roth. If you do, here's a little friendly advice....don't make them too hard or too easy.
  19. Not only that but we're pretty competitive with each other. Thank goodness this is the All-Star Week in baseball or we'd be fighting all week as usual. Which reminds me, who has more players in the All-Star game, the Cubs, Pirates or Reds?
  20. Welcome to the HazzardNet Roy!
  21. The more I think about my post earlier today the more I realize we're dealing with a problem here that is bigger than simply tweaking the forums a little bit to improve them. My big concern is that interest in the Dukes of Hazzard is fading and that's why we're not seeing as many people log in. There is a chance I'm wrong though. I think the idea was floating around awhile ago that facebook and twitter have taken over and more people have moved to those type of things. This concerns me because I'm not interested in those two things. We have a great thing with our forums and I'd like to see if we can revive it to its glory days. Since I don't understand the facebook and twitter world maybe I'm fighting an uphill battle. Maybe the world of forums is coming to an end. It's a scary thought and that is why I was reluctant to start this post but ignoring the problem won't make it better.
  22. Which country music star appeared on "The Sound of Music-Hazzard Style"? A) Loretta Lynn Johnny Paycheck C) Kenny Chesney D) Tammy Wynette E) Charlie Daniels F) Taylor Swift G) Mickey Gilley F) Buck Owens
  23. I don't know about the rest of you but I'm getting a little depressed that the HazzardNet seems to be past its prime. I know we've had ups and downs here but this downturn in posts seems to be a little more serious than the down cycles we've had in the past. Don't get me wrong, there's still some great things going on here, like Roth and Hoss's behind the scenes thread and Garrett's very active NASCAR threads but overall this place has gotten slower than a snail running on fumes and two flat tires in molasses. We need to find a way to do something about it. Let's use this thread to kick around some ideas. My first idea is to revive the trivia thread so that's what I'm going to do. My next idea is a suggestion to the moderators. Is there any way the behind the scenes thread can be moved up to one of the forums toward the top? I suspect that some casual users never scroll down that far and that thread is an amazing asset to the HazzardNet and is of headline quality. Okay folks let's hear it.
