Honestly, it is very a low reading for how much running around the cousins did, even if it were reset when rebuilt. To be frank, sorry to break through the fantasy, I'm usually all for settling canon points in the Hazzard world, but odometer readings are hard to fake, even for film. I'm sure in other episodes, various stunt cars had a wide range of odometer readings.

The Hole in Willie's Guitar
Lukas_KD replied to Dixie_Nachelle01's topic in Sonny Shroyer / Enos Strate
I didn't care for the singer, song wasn't bad without images... the Enos parts I loved. *grin* In the pond and all. -
You can't really count other towns as other counties, you know. There's multiple towns in a county - in fact, more than just Hazzard in Hazzard County. You have to figure out which towns are in which counties. If you can figure out directions, east-west-etc for places, you can kinda figure out which towns belong to which counties if they aren't specified in the show. And don't forget that Chickasaw and Choctaw actually seem to be the same county - ie, Sheriff Little's territory. I usually go with Chickasaw as the name because it was used more often. I think Choctaw was used once or twice.

Good, it was meant to! *grin* You can't exactly argue that point, can ya? No one can...

You're lucky, Jess, if it's only almost $3.00 a gallon. Same here, but I also know it's a lot higher in other parts of the country, especially toward the coasts. If people like us think we have a problem, some people really have a problem. I'm not sure what a good answer is, or if there is one, yet...

Enos did smart things sometimes on the Dukes too. A lot of the time he was portrayed as a silly hick, but honestly sometimes the innocent mind seemed to hide some simple but direct smarts. As well as a good memory... Now Cletus really wasn't all there...

There's more than one Dukes festival in this country in a year. Dukesfest is just the largest and most well-known, probably because of being associated with CMT and Cooter's Place. Others are fan-run, but have cars, events, and even actors showing up there too.

I'd actually like to see "Enos" too. If the only complaint was about it being set in the city and a cop story, I wouldn't mind. I ilke shows like Starsky & Hutch too... though I imagine it probably wasn't quite that complex. Lol. I would like to see it someday.

At least they kept the mountains, and found as many ponds/lakes as they could. In South CA finding that much water's not that easy.

LOL on option D! Honestly, if it's somethin' you wanna share all around, probably put it under Tom's category on the boards.

It's good for a lot of things. *chuckle* Good to have you here, Roger.

I created a map of Hazzard long ago episode by episode, and actually figuring out how roads, streams, etc connected with each other (right, left, east, west, etc...) It took a long time and was very detailed. But somewhere along the way, I lost it. I should recreate it if I can find the time. But... Yreka County?? I don't remember that one. I remember Sweetwater (actually I think that one was on the other side of the TN line but I could be wrong), Hatchapi, Chickasaw/Choctaw (near as I can figure it was the same place - Sheriff Little's territory - and some writers couldn't figure out which name to give it), and Osage... maybe another one or two. But Yreka? Where was that?

Depends which part you're talking about. Talking about Luke's personality and habits, anyone's really, is simply from watching him/them... character study. As for the vs Coy/Vance part... yes, that actually came from a couple different members of the cast.
-
Also... Luke: I just couldn't stand to see a grown man cry...
-
Just thought you might enjoy the English versions too!: Bo: Uncle Jesse, get me some socks, will ya? Luke: (eyes rolling) Yeah please, get him some socks... (From his expression, I think Bo had been borrowing all his! lol) Luke: He did that almost as good as I would've... (This was as much proud as teasing - but high-spirited definitely)

I think he basically didn't like being told what he had to do or look like.

Reviews of Dukes of Hazzard: The Beginning
Lukas_KD replied to Meadowmufn's topic in Dukes of Hazzard Movies
Again, my opinion was that if they'd clean it up (a new show) I'd watch it. It isn't the original Dukes, but the world they created wasn't half bad on its own standing - without the sex jokes, even fun. As for a new show with the original cast... I hate to burst your bubble, y'all, but as much as they still love getting together and appreciate the show, and as many wonderful memories and lasting friendships came from those years... even they know it's time to let the day-to-day of Hazzard County go to a younger set, if anywhere at all. They're more mature people than that - and they've managed, unlike some other stars in the business, to go on to other lives too. Not forgetting Dukes, and certainly seeming to enjoy Dukesfest!... but it ain't their only world anymore either. Fans have to remember, respect, and even appreciate that - the people they actually are. ~Lukas -
Reviews of Dukes of Hazzard: The Beginning
Lukas_KD replied to Meadowmufn's topic in Dukes of Hazzard Movies
Yes Mufn, those were the parts I meant most, heh... As for things like the hood slide and pounce, I enjoyed those too. There were points that actually caught certain elements of the original Dukes. Such as Bo's tendency to pounce like that even back then! And Luke's plan-it-till-it-drops approach to life... heheh. And Daisy was much more believable as... well, Daisy, a country girl. Though a few pounds put on would do her good. Overall, the Dukes were pretty good. All the characters did okay except Lulu... gah. -
Reviews of Dukes of Hazzard: The Beginning

Reappearance of the CB use, plus an argument for continuing it whatever year they're in. Like others said, the jokes got a little raunchy for my tastes. But the characters actually weren't bad at all. They even got a few personality quirks of the originals tossed in. "Jesse" gave a pretty good nod to "our" Uncle Jesse this time, honestly... I enjoyed that. And the scenery was very Hazzard-esque. The general feel was very Hazzard-like. Tone it down a rating or so and I'd really like it. As it is, I enjoyed it well enough, except for a couple parts that made me wince. I think one other thing I enjoyed about it was that it caught some of the "timelessness" of the original series. Like the series, there was enough of the old blended with the new to be able to figure out in what era it was filmed if you tried... but at the same time it didn't date itself into any particular timeframe too much. Just... life. I always liked that about the show. -
There actually are DVD-fixing or cleaning kits. I've even seen a couple at Walmart. Personally I like DVDs, they don't get wore out with usage as long as you're gentle with 'em and don't scratch 'em up. Although I do admit to watching each season all the way through in the first thirty days when I could still return it if there were any skipped eps on a disc... and I did replace a couple sets... but finally I got a full set. Which I'd guard with my life... LOL. Just kidding.

The Dukes on CMT...Going off the air???
Lukas_KD replied to goodolboy85's topic in Dukes of Hazzard General Discussion
I apologize if you seem to think we don't care. It ain't that we don't care, but I don't think anyone really believes the Dukes is going off the air, considering I think CMT is sponsoring Dukesfest again this year. If so, that would be a very bad business move; I don't think they're that stupid. -
What have you learned from dukes of hazzard?
Lukas_KD replied to Bo_Duke_girl's topic in Dukes of Hazzard General Discussion
I enjoy this one... actually it reminds me of something I discovered a while back. Jesse's name actually means "wealthy". And I remember him sayin' in an episode that he reckoned he was a lot richer than the unhappy millionaire he was talking to. Fitting then, ain't it...? -
What do you think of season 7?
Lukas_KD replied to Bill-Duke's topic in Dukes of Hazzard General Discussion
The seventh season has always been a favorite of mine. Sure there were a couple dumb episodes. But there were some fantastic ones too. A level of storywriting, drama, more indepth into the family and other characters... even a few more serious themes. The sixth season was the same way. In the last two seasons, I believe, there was both the worst and the best of the entire series. So for some of those best... I still love it. -
Very good summary, Val, though there is one other thing I can clarify - Enos' place in the boarding house had its own kitchen and stuff, because Daisy cooked him dinner and breakfast that time she stayed over... and there was a bedroom and bath separate from the little living area. So it really was more a full apartment.

Yes, it is sad how sue-happy this entire nation's becoming. Heck, the world. It's suddenly someone's else's fault if you do something stupid that you shoulda have the sense to know not to do. Oh for the good ol' days...
