2026 Moonshine 400
RogerDuke and 2 others reacted to Garrett Duke for a topic
Garrett Duke was working on his vehicle outside of his apartment when his thoughts and concentration was abruptly shattered by a door slamming shut. Taking a deep breath, he slowly stands up and turns around to stand face to face to Jesse Duke. "What you think you're doing, boy?" Jesse says, his voice thick with disappointment and concern. Garrett looks away in attempt to hide his anger before looking back at his uncle. "I'm working on my wrecked car," he dryly states, putting emphasis on wrecked. "Not no more you ain't," Jesse states in a matter of fact tone, "get in the truck." Garrett goes to protest only to be cut off by angry blue eyes of his uncle. Shaking his head in defeat, he throws down the oil stained towel he was clenching onto onto the roof of his car before looking angrily up at Jesse before turning around and climbing into the cab of the old white Ford truck. They drive a long awkward five minutes in silence before Jesse interrupts the piercing silence by saying, "Everyone is at the Boars Nest celebrating what was suppose to be a fun race," he pauses, his voice drips of disappointment, "and you run off to pout because you didn't cross the line first." Jesse shakes his head. "I'm disappointed in you and your un-sportsmanship. You can't even congratulate yourself. Too busy feeling sorry for yourself. But you know what? Not everything is about you." Jesse allows more silence in the cab of his truck as Garrett stares out his window. "I thought I raised you better than this." Garrett quickly glares at his uncle in disbelief. "I ain't Bo or Luke," he states in disgust and disbelief, "you didn't raise me." Jesse nods at his mistake. "You're right, I didn't," he pauses, "then your father did a bad job at raising you." "You know nothing of how I was raised," Garrett states before letting out a deep breath. He knew of the bad relationship between the two and knew nothing he said would change Jesse's mind. Plus his dad was the one who sent him to Hazzard, so Garrett wasn't in the mood to argue with Jesse. He knew he wouldn't win any how. Changing the topic, he says, "You call me un-sportsmanship. I raced that race fair and square. And what do I have to show for it? A wrecked car." "Well good. I'm proud of you for racing your race fair and square," Jesse states, "but you can't control how others race you or treat you. The only person you have control over is yourself and how you react. And right now you are acting like a toddler without a nap not getting that cherished toy the toddler would want. So, in a few minutes we will be walking into the Boar's Nest and YOU are going to walk over to Hobie. Shake his hand and meaningfully congratulate him. Understand?" "Yeah," Garrett sighs in resignation. (Sorry for the long post)3 points -

After finishing the race in whatever position, he ended up in, Garrett watches everyone walking into the Boars Nest to celebrate either a race won or a race fought. Shaking his head he looks at his beaten-up Spittin' Cobra in anger. He raced that race hard and clean and yet still lost and his beloved car took the beaten on due to it all. Feeling his anger toward how he was raced and how his car was disrespected by others around him, he knows better than to step foot in the Boars Nest with everyone celebrating. He takes a long glare at the Boars Nest he shakes his head in disgust before climbing back into the Spittin' Cobra and sighs in relief as it starts right up with a powerful roar. "Good race," he pats the dashboard of his beloved car, "let's go get you fixed up." With that he drives off towards home where he will work and fix on his beloved car to make it back to perfect once again.3 points -

Garrett turns around as Skipper approaches him and hears him out. He sets his half drank down and gives Skipper a high five. "No need to apologize, Skipper. It was just a race and you were just eager to win the race as everyone was. My car can and will be fixed in no time," he pauses to put down his empty glass from Cooter, "but I'll be glad to take you up on that drink and drink to a fun race."2 points -

Skipper sees Garrett, and Uncle Jesse come in. He rushed over to them. "Hey Uncle Jesse. Garrett. Garrett, I'm sorry about cheating and wrecking your car. I want to buy you a beer to apologize to you. Please join me. Uncle Jesse, you too. No hard feelings about you stealing the Coconut Moonshine or disconnecting the Minnow trailer from my car."2 points -

Walking into the Boar's Nest with his head down, Garrett sighs and looks up and looks through the crowd before finding Hobie. He makes a slow and long thoughtful walk over to Hobie where he looks up and gives Hobie a confident smile and puts his hand out and says, "Congratulations Hobie on a great race." He surprises himself that he actually means and finds himself buying into Jesse's speech. "But next year, that trophy is coming back home with me." He gives him a smile before he walks over to Bo and Luke who congratulate him on a well raced race. Garrett only shrugs it off before before Jesse and everyone starts asking him if he finished second after Hobie. Garrett shrugs. He'd be ok with second. Just not with the wrecked race car. Taking a deep breath he slowly admits out loud, "I don't really know where I placed," he pauses, "I just knew I wasn't first." He shrugs again before Cooter hands him a beer and he slowly takes a long drink before slowly stating, "I apologize for how I acted and not celebrating with you all for the fun race."2 points -

Hi everyone. I have some rare original Dukes props available. These were all made for the production of the show, and are unused, original extras that have been in storage for over 40 years. I obtained these directly from the prop house that made them for the show. I've been helping them organize and identify some of their old stock items, and found these in the archives there. All items are guaranteed authentic, and will include my personal COA. Message me here if interested. All prices include US shipping. Click the links for photos. Set of 2 - Hazzard County Driver's License + Generic (Abe Hogg) Driver's License - $250 -https://ibb.co/cK32YKHw Originally made for their appearance in the post office scene in 'The Hack of Hazzard', the Hazzard County driver's license props can also briefly be spotted in the episodes 'Miss Tri-Counties' and 'The Ransom of Hazzard County'. The more generic version was used to create the forged license of Boss' twin brother Abe in 'Baa, Baa White Sheep.' It has extra paper at the bottom so it would fit in a typewriter. The 'Hazzard' version never had typed details, as they were never meant to be seen up close, and only had a fingerprint. 1983 Hazzard County License Plate Graphics & 84 Plate Tab - $250 - https://ibb.co/cdpBX5Z When Georgia's real-world license plates were redesigned in 1983, Dukes updated their prop plates as well. This is an uncut sheet of original green '19' '83' & 'Hazzard County' graphics that was made for the new plates. The set also includes an original production-made '84 registration sticker from the final season. 1978, 1982, or 1984 License Plate Registration Tabs - $60 each - https://ibb.co/b5XmgJCt These original license plate 'year' tabs that do not include the state name of Georgia were specifically made for the show. The regular Georgia tabs of the time were different from these custom-made Dukes stickers. Gold 'Scales' Seal Sticker for Police Cars, Matte Gold - $100 each - https://ibb.co/ZRsLG8hs The center seal with the scales design was a separate sticker that covered the original design on every set of Sheriff car door decals. These graphics were all on gold sticker paper, not vinyl. This is one reason the producers avoided filming in rainy conditions. The 'County Sheriff' door emblem was a stock item from the prop house, used in numerous older shows and movies. Both mirror and matte gold stickers were used, and sometimes both could be seen in the same episodes. These are matte gold. 1981 Mississippi FTO 521 License Plate - $200 - https://ibb.co/G40SQMct These plates were made for the episode 'Trouble at Cooter's,' where one was used on the fur thieves' van. It was reused on one of the cars of the visitors attending Carver's meeting in 'Undercover Dukes'. This is an unused original and is made of Crescent mat board. I found a few of these, but only have one left. Confederate Front Plate - As seen on all Sheriff's Cars and Boss' Cadillac - $300 - https://ibb.co/hRCBy5vb These were made in both metal and mat board versions for the show. This one is mat board. We found a few of these in the old stock plates recently. They also made a sticker version of the graphic to add to a blank plate quickly if needed. The stickers are $150. From season 4, episode 16, 'Shine on Hazzard Moon,' Cletus' 'Beginner's Guide to Swimming' book cover - $200 - https://ibb.co/DXZn5KG - Screenshot: https://ibb.co/67FD1DtW These were made specifically for this episode, and are unused extra copies that were not trimmed down. The covers will be rolled and shipped in a tube due to their size. Thanks! Daniel1 point

Absolutely! Those 2 are to The Dukes of Hazzard what Bob Denver and Alan Hale are to Gilligan's Island. 😀 What Andy Griffith and Don Knotts are to The Andy Griffith Show. 😀 You get the idea.1 point -
Hi Roger, They are basically production-made print overruns that were never needed for the show, so they stayed in storage all this time. The screen-used items would have come from the exact same print runs. In the 1980s, when it was an expensive process to set up a huge press for custom items, they always ran some extras just in case they were needed later. The set of 2 licenses is $250. I'm actually working for them directly now, and will be their archivist and online sales rep. We're setting up a website for collectors that will be separate from their production site for movie and TV jobs. I'll be handling all the vintage inventory and collector orders and requests, so they can focus on their current work.1 point

Original Production-Made Dukes Props Available

This is interesting. Help me to understand this better. I've skimmed through a couple items and am wondering if all these things are prototypes. Have any of them actually aired on the show? The forerunner to the Abe Lincoln Hogg driver's license has caught my eye the most. Edit: Am I correct that it is a set of 2 so you get both of them for $250?1 point -
Moonrunners(1975)

Tom Wopat (Luke Duke) and John Schneider (Bo Duke) trained in archery how to use bow and arrows as Bo and Luke's weapons. They shot at hay bales in Warner Brothers parking lot. Did James Mitchum (Grady Hagg) and Kiel Martin (Bobby Lee) Hagg in Moonrunners have to train also because their characters were also on probation and couldn't own guns just like the TV show.1 point -

I wonder if Beth Ann Eubanks ever did learn archery? Bobby Lee Hagg was trying to teach her how to hold the bow and arrow and how to shoot it near the end of the movie, when Zeebo showed up at the farm. Her lesson was interrupted. We never did get see her properly learn or shoot at any types of targets.1 point -

After finishing fourth Jesse flagged down Garrett and convinced him to change his mind and head into the Boar's Nest with everybody else. The three of them walked in together and clearly Emma was excited to be seen with Jesse. Right away Jesse silenced the room with his deep authoritative voice. "Now, listen up ya'll. World Cup 2026
RogerDuke reacted to Meadowmufn for a topic
My new favorite thing is watching people from all over the world getting to experience the US for the first time while they're here for the World Cup. I especially love seeing the Tartan Army (seeing as I'm about half Scottish) and the folks experiencing the South (authentic BBQ anyone?). Boston has a large population with Scots-Irish ancestry, as does the South, so it's not surprising they're feeling like kindred spirits.1 point -

Out of interest, how many of y'all are watching the World Cup? I really only watch motorsports, but I keep an eye on the scores at Word Cups and watch bits here and there. England had a good win in their first match, and I'll watch some of their games as they progress, but the time difference means that a lot of the fixtures are taking place in the middle of the night over here.1 point

Mistakes (Bloopers)/Things I've Noticed About The Show
Hobie Hartkins reacted to HossC for a topic
After Boss' brakes go out, Vance apparently stops his car by simply pressing the clutch. Vance previous told Boss "...what you gotta do is try to slowly downshift into first gear. And then let the gears slow you down.". All we see is him depressing the clutch but never raising it again as you would to shift gears with a stick transmission. Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the 1970 Cadillac DeVille only came with an automatic transmission, so it wouldn't have a clutch pedal anyway.1 point -
Mistakes (Bloopers)/Things I've Noticed About The Show
Hobie Hartkins reacted to Webb for a topic
Every time I rematch Dukes (for the thousandth time) I notice new things I’ve never noticed before like in Ding Dong the Boss is Dead, Boss’s Cadillac is at Cooters with the note on it. When the scaffolding almost falls on him you can see the Cadillac in front of the steps. Then when Boss goes to get in his car he walks over to Cooters and gets the car and reads the note. I’m sure someone else has noticed this but I like noticing new things when you aren’t focusing on it you don’t really notice.1 point -
