I've just spent the evening at a bar (very unusual for me) listening to a couple of local guys playing live music on acoustic guitars. It was a good mix of traditional Irish songs and old favorites. What surprised me was the number of Americans at the bar. The first people I spoke to were from just across the Indiana border from Chicago, but there were three groups from California (Sacramento, San Francisco and Los Angeles), one from Seattle and another from Florida. I know where I live is a popular tourist destination, but I rarely get to speak to the visitors.
Went to the local GM plant's car show today. Over 300 cars, possibly 400 showed up. One that stuck out for me was a restored Hudson pickup truck. Never seen one before. Since it was invitation only it was pretty much hot rods and muscle cars. They might go back to open registration again next year. Few years ago they had some trouble with a few people and police showed up so that's when they made it invitation only, you have to work there or worked there or know someone that works there that will write you in.
I'm still here. I've been here every day reading posts, but I've been trying to shake a head cold all week, and didn't realize that I hadn't posted since Monday.
Well, my Dr's appointment went well and now I can eat cream of wheat and drink clear OR colored stuff now, like tea etc....until this time next week / my next appt.). He was impressed by your car dealer's recovery!
EXCELLENT!! Irish women are the best!!
* Well hopefully I'll be back home at this time tomorrow, if the doctor decides to let me go. If not.....it will be sometime Wednesday! .....hopefully! So if you don't see me on here for a while you'll know where I'm at! Healing up/sleeping it off/drugged up etc.!
I saw the phrase "Tír na nÓg" (it means "Land of Youth") painted on several buildings, and the bar was advertising "Ceol Anocht" ("Music Tonight"), but I don't think it was the Celtic Women. It was probably traditional Irish music, but we had food waiting at the house, so we didn't stay to find out.
Just to keep you happy, Roger:
