It looks like I missed out on a auction before the Monaco Grand Prix. The Ferrari driven to victory by Michael Schumacher in the 2001 race sold for €15.98 million ($18.11 million at today's rates), making it the fourth most expensive F1 car ever sold. Oh well, I was a couple of bucks short anyway! As the joke goes: I'm almost a millionaire. I have all the zeros, I now just need a one!

    HELLO!!!

You are lucky to have an awesome girlfriend like that. I can't get my wife into Dukes. She doesn't dislike it but doesn't like it enough to watch on a regular basis. Strange coincidence: She watches that Diners Drive Ins and Dives food show. Today they were at a rural restaurant and the host Guy Fieri asked if Bo and Luke Duke come in the drive thru often.

  14. I always thought this was sloppy work of the producers! In the world of Hazzard, there's supposed to only be one General Lee!
    2 points
  15. Again, I think they're similar but different. The one in 'The Ghost of General Lee' gets into a crash at the end, so was probably damaged. There are actually two trucks used in 'Arrest Jesse Duke'. The one the car strippers get into outside the parts store was originally white, and still has white paint visible inside the cab and patchy bits on the back and roof of the cab. During the chase it's a different truck - they acquire a bed of tires and all the white paint has gone. This is close to the 'The Ghost of General Lee' truck, but the rust/wear spots are in different places. As they pass Boss' house leaving the square in 'The Ghost of General Lee' they pass a very similar truck. Maybe this was the other one from the episode. It reminded me of the extra General parked in the square in 'One Armed Bandits'.

  16. I'm not sure that it counts as a mistake. The extra officer is manning the roadblock as Rosco drives off, and then he moves the barrier when he come back through. The Hazzard County Police Department was much larger in 'One Armed Bandits', and Boss hired many deputies throughout the series, it's just that this one isn't referenced in the storyline.

    NASCAR news

This weekend's Monaco Grand Prix is seen as a halo event, mainly due to its long history, glamor, and the demanding nature of the tight street circuit right on the shoreline of the wealthy principality. However, the tight nature makes overtaking very difficult, which can lead to boring races. F1 rules usually mandate that two different tire compounds are used during a race (Pirelli bring "soft", "medium" and "hard" tires to each race chosen from six different compounds to best suit the likely wear expected at the circuit), meaning at least one pit stop. At last year's race there was a bad crash on the first lap which brought out a red flag. Most of the field used their enforced time in the pits to fit hard tires which lasted until the end of the race (lower speeds a Monaco mean lower tire wear). The top ten cars finished in exactly the same order in which they started. You can see the highlights (I use the term loosely) of the race here. To try to avoid a repeat of this, teams will still have to use two tire compounds during the race at Monaco, but they have to make at least two pit stops this year. Time will tell if this makes any difference. Local driver and last year's winner, Ferrari's Charles Leclerc, has been fastest in the first two practice sessions, with the McLarens also looking quick.

  37. This is a general question.....you know how when someone follows a subject or event into the mirky depths .....it's called " Going down a rabbit hole." Well, what about when it's something " Way out there", in TDOH or something very deep or " Out there" in Scooby Doo ( my other obsession besides TDOH)

    NASCAR news

Well, the double pit stop rule in Monaco didn't make much difference. The top four on the grid finished in the order they started. Lando Norris' win now puts him only three points behind his team mate Oscar Piastri, with Max Verstappen a further 22 points back. Lewis Hamilton recovered two of the three places that he was demoted to finish fifth. It was also a good day for RB and Williams who had both their cars in the points. Down the field, some of the teams used their second drivers to slow the down the cars behind to give their first cars a free pit stop. This frustrated George Russell so much that he overtook a Williams by cutting a chicane. When he told his team that he'd rather take the penalty than give the place back, he was given a drive-through penalty which cost him about 20 seconds. You can see the race highlights here. McLaren are now well ahead in the constructors' championship, but there's only five points between Mercedes in second and Ferrari in fourth with Red Bull in the middle. Next weekend is the Spanish Grand Prix in Barcelona.

Thank you Hobie . I haven't done very well as of late, I feel. The biggest race of the NASCAR season is Sunday night at the Coca Cola 600 in Charolotte. Last season, Christopher Bell won it. Kyle Larson will being going for the double header for the second year in a row. Racing Indy 500 and the Coca Cola 600 for 1,100 miles in one day. Or try. Last year's run was ran a little short due to rain and having to make from track to track in a shortened time span. Justin Allgaier started the Coca Cola race last year for Larson before Larson took over the 5 NASCAR car. Kyle Larson's quest to complete 1,100 miles, Part II | NASCAR I miss the older days where this was the house that Jimmie Johnson built. Well he didn't build Charolette, but he was good there. Hendrick cars run good here so I am hopeful for the number 9 car of Chase Elliott to have a good run at it... Thank you Hoss for keeping us updated on F1. You do a great job at it.
