Local Car Show - Labour Day Weekend 2026
Skipper Duke and one other reacted to Tom Duke for a topic
Howdy y’all, not sure if anyone’s gonna be down this way during Labour Day weekend. But we’re putting on a car show and we would love to have any of y’all there! Was kinda hoping I could find someone with a General Lee on here locally cause this event has zero cover charge for vehicles to attend! It’s just a show n shine, meet up with likeminded folks and enjoy showing off your car or just enjoy the cars that are there. I hope the link works, the file was too big to post.. https://imgur.com/a/G8ul3qo This here is a link to the event poster with information. Thanks again y’all, Yee Haw! Tom2 points -
Following your dreams

Through my life, I have wanted a Ferrari, a mansion, ( To be rich) , to be a world famous rock singer , etc. etc. but now, just a few days short of being 61 ( Aug. 31) , I simply want to be at peace , with a simple life and be debt free and not have to work. The crazy thing is I have all this and I'm not sure if I'll ever buy anything crazy ( mansion, Ferrari, Lamborghini etc.) but now that I'm in a position to do these things.....I have no desire! Go figure! When you don't have it, you want it and when you do have it, you don't really have a desire! weird huh? Here's something else I've noticed. .......When I was in college ( you know the time of your life, when it's, " Money? What's money? " ) I was buying Heineken Beer on Thursday nights, that was the Friday night for us! We would schedule, as much as possible the easiest and fewest classes for Friday and then when that last class is done, it's back home and Weekend time! Anyway, Thursday, I'd go to 3rd and Main Market and buy a 6 pk. of Heineken and .....well you know the rest ! I always said, drink Heineken and you'll feel fine again! now that I'm able to buy that expensive beer on the reg. like I did then, I buy Milwaukees Best Ice or Natural Ice. Weird huh?2 points -
Any Place to Find the spinoff Enos TV Episodes?

Where he goes to LA? Heard about it for years, never seen an episode. Love to though. I've looked on You Tube and online -- nothing. Thanks!1 point -

I saw a news story tonight about the Colorado River drying up and 40 million people depend on it for their water. But of course, they are still watering their pretty lawns, washing their cars and sprinkling those golf courses. I'm sure politicians are afraid to ask them to stop because they won't get re-elected if they ask folks to make sacrifices.1 point -

It’s been awhile but I think I can recall finding a couple full episodes of Enos on YouTube or thru pages like gorillavid when I had my android box back between 2017-2022.1 point -

You're right. I've just looked at the prices people are asking for rare 1:18 Dukes diecast models.1 point

He can ask 5 grand for it but good luck selling it for anywhere near that. We've been selling antique furniture from our parents estate. It has been a real eye opener. Prices on the internet do not represent the real world.1 point

I'm afraid I can't help much. I'm not even sure if they were sold over here. I did find a 2012 article on the Dukes of Hazzard Collector blog where someone restored one of these pedal cars. As far as I can see, he just fixed the steering, cleaned it up and got someone to recreate the decals. There's no mention of a sound module. Maybe you can find someone selling a trashed car with a working module. I did find one seller on eBay asking $5,000 for a car "in working condition and in good shape for being 43 yrs old.". As far as I can tell, that's with fading decals and without a box! BTW. Had anyone at Coleco ever seen a '69 Dodge Charger? I understand that making an open pedal car isn't going to produce an exact replica, but the front looks more like a '69 Pontiac GTO, there's a spoiler on the trunk and the wheels are completely wrong. At least their 1984 KITT looks like a Trans Am.1 point

I'm guessing that he'd love to have them released since he'd likely get royalties but I suspect they don't think they'd make enough profit. If money was to be made I'm sure Warner Brothers would do it. Of course it may be much more complicated than that. I'm only speculating.1 point -

I would love to see these again. At least I got to see them once. You younger Dukes fans didn't. A few years ago when I met Sonny he said he had them but couldn't help me to get any copies. "Grits and Greens Strike Again!"1 point -

Hi tripflicky, welcome to HNet. Sorry I missed your post - it must have been stuck in moderation. You're not the first person to ask this question, in fact there was a blog post titled Will “Enos†Series Be Next for DVD? on this very site back in 2011. Like you, I've never seen an episode of 'Enos' - I don't think it was ever shown in the UK. There are a few stills from the show in Roth's Rare and Behind the Scenes Pictures thread, and YouTube has the intro (below), but I'm sure you've seen these already. For anyone who wants to see the episode list, you can find it at imdb.com. I've even tried to find episodes at some of the less legal sites, but still no luck. At least we have all of Dukes available on DVD, they've only just released season 3 of 'CHiPs' on DVD (and so far only in region 1 ) when season 2 came out in 2008. Maybe there's still hope.1 point -
Canada wildfires
Skipper Duke reacted to HossC for a topic
We're in the middle of a hosepipe ban which gets introduced during periods of low rainfall. It prohibits the use of hosepipes or similar equipment for activities including watering gardens, washing private vehicles and leisure boats, filling domestic swimming or paddling pools, ornamental fountains and garden ponds, except where such use is required for commercial purposes. Romania has had to shut its only nuclear power plant due to very low water levels in the Danube River.0 points -

The field next door to where I live caught fire the week before last, but luckily it was a reasonably small fire which the fire brigade put out fairly quickly. There was still a lot of smoke and all the cars were covered in ash the following morning. We think it was started by some idiot setting off fireworks (which are illegal in the Republic of Ireland) after several weeks of heatwaves and no rain. I think the only large wildfire we've had in Ireland this year was last month in Slievenamon, Co. Tipperary. There have also been wildfires across in the UK, but it's the ones in continental Europe that have been deadly this year.0 points
