Skipper Duke and 2 others reacted to Spike for a topic
I had plans to watch both Talladega races this weekend but watched about 5 minutes of each of them . Saturday I was busy mowing lawns till about 6 and when I got out of the shower caught the last gwc start and end of the Xfinity race. Sunday celebrated a friend's birthday so just caught a few laps here and there. NASCAR related news....I stopped at a garage sale over the weekend and scored some NASCAR cars, Bill Elliott's 94 McDonald's Mac Tonight, Kyle Petty Coors 42 and a Richard Petty car and hauler collector's set. Lady gave me a great deal on the Bill Elliott car and Kyle Petty car but I paid almost full price for the Richard Petty set.3 points -

In F1, it was the Chinese Grand Prix this weekend. I'll start writing reports again when someone other than Max Verstappen wins a race! The next one is in Miami in two weeks' time.3 points -

Finally started to feel good physically but had a hard emotional hit today. I turned 64 (7 days after Bo turned 64) and it hit me that I will never again get a birthday call from my daughter. I'm sure when Father's Day comes around I'll get knocked down again since she was my only child.3 points -

Hello all, My real name is Carl. I'm a Canadian childhood fan at heart. I've always loved the Dukes of Hazzard, always wanted to meet the cast (met some), always wanted a General Lee (one day), and always wanted to visit as many locations as possible. So I've started building a map using Google's MyMaps. I was wondering if anyone would like to partake in this and hopefully get an entire map for fans to utilize. Let me know. Looking forward to hearing from ya all!2 points -

I asked her what color car she wanted to buy from you and she said she didn't care as long as it wasn't red. I explained to her that she would have to find a different car dealer.2 points -

Why the Dukes didn't have neighbors
Garrett Duke and one other reacted to RogerDuke for a topic
I'm sure it was because the Dukes simply had a lot of land....but I like these 18 reasons better so I'm going to agree with the creative person who wrote them. Send the author compliments from HazzardNet and invite them to join.2 points -
I checked in once in awhile to see the places but didn't see a lot of it. Feeling pretty decent today so I worked outside most of the day....at a slow pace. Thanks Garrett.2 points

I say that, but one year NASCAR made changes to the restrictor plates and it was a pretty boring race. Tony Stewart even was pretending to sleep through it. Hopefully there is a happy medium. LOL.2 points -

LOL . . . well this better not be one of those times. You now got my hopes higher than the sky! Though we are racing at Talladega this weekend. He'll have to avoid "the big one" in order to win. But you said, he's going to win the rest of the year. By golly...he has to win the rest of the year. LOL.2 points -

Where to watch the DUKES!
Skipper Duke and one other reacted to Spike for a topic
You can buy episodes or seasons on Amazon prime, VUDU, or Apple TV+. But it would be far cheaper to pick up the complete series on DVD and get a good upscaling Blu-ray player that will convert the SD format to HD.2 points -

Great to meet you Carl. Welcome to Hazzard County. There's plenty to see and do on the HazzardNet and we look forward to hearing a lot more from you. I've never visited any Dukes locations but if I ever do it would be in Georgia, not California. I'm sure Hoss will help you out with links because he's done a lot of research on the California locations.1 point -
Why the Dukes didn't have neighbors
RogerDuke reacted to Skipper Duke for a topic
I saw this on Facebook. With a photo of the opening scene of Swamp Molly. The Duke family didn't have next-door neighbors. Here's why: 1. Target practice with dynamite arrows 2. Roaring car engines 3. Blaring dixie horns 4. Blaring police sirens 5. Roaming bad-tempered goats 6. Ongoing shenanigans 7. Bad guys showing up 8. Sketchy stuff hidden in the barn 9. CB radios squawking constantly 10. Regular visits by Boss Hogg 11. Frequent stakeouts by sheriff's dept 12. Farm continually in or near foreclosure 13. Loose chickens 14. Flying gravel 15. Cranky ol' man with a shotgun 16. Outhouse gets ripe in the summer 17. Wild boars 18. Constant yells of "yee-haa!"1 point -

Thanks for the kind words! Got to splice the chopped door posts from the classic body onto the Super's convertible body. Always better to cut and graft too much, then cut it down to size. Then a bit of grinding and sanding to blend it all in.1 point -

Howdy folks, I must apologize for being away for a couple of years. Had my hands full with MANY things, including a wedding, some health stuff, plus got really burned out on this project (FAR more difficult than originally thought). Time to get it off the back burner and finished. Hope y'all are doing well and blessed! Ok, let's see where we left off. Major body modifications. Had to take pieces from the two Revell bodies and graft them to the Aoshima to reflect the correct vents, trims and such. Flat windscreen framing on the hardtop was too narrow, so I widened it with an insert of plastic, above and below. I'll worry about the windscreen itself later. The hood was a nightmare, part of the upper section being scratchbuilt.1 point -

Get to feeling better Roger, hopefully the break in rain will help. Took the G8 to the first local cars and coffee meet yesterday. Might also be the last cars and coffee meet this year lol. A lot of idiots showed up acting like idiots, revving their motors, revving competitions, burning rubber leaving the meet, doing drugs etc... So yeah will not be surprised if the rest of the meets are canceled, this is the 4th or 5th parking lot that the organizer has had to ask permission for in the past decade because idiots got them kicked out of the other lots over the years. Was a few very interesting cars that showed up. A Citroen DS3, 60's Lincoln Continental that was lowered 3 inches with stock rims and original hubcaps, 90's Miata with a 90's Ford 5.0 cobra engine, an old Cushman scooter.1 point

You beat me to it, Spike! I am so excited that Chase finally found himself in Victory Lane. He has been getting closer and closer this year. And here we are. I hope that this means that more is to come. Ironic enough, an online NASCAR fan was telling me the other day that I should switch to William Byron since the reason I went with Elliott was because he went to the 24 car first (Jeff Gordon's original number). Have to say it was tempting because Byron is the 24 driver, drives for Hendrick, and has been doing great last year and this year. But being the Cubs fan that I am...am loyal to the end. So Byron will be my second favorite. Sadly I missed his win as I went grocery shopping instead because I was too lazy to go yesterday. Though if I did watch it today, I'd probably have an heart attack up to the white flag! LOL. I am just so excited...must mean it's going to be a great week. LOL. I was never a Denny Hamlin fan either, because he did show aggressive driving even in his first season in NASCAR and it hasn't changed. Then him wrecking Elliott all that he did, carved it in stone. LOL. NASCAR Texas Motor Speedway Race Results, Lineup | Official Site Of NASCAR YAY CHASE ELLIOTT!!! CONGRATULATIONS. Thank you Spike.1 point -
Garrett your boy Chase finally put it in victory lane today in Texas . I've never liked Denny, heck his first season he about ran thru Kyle Petty in practice.1 point

I didn't want to start a new thread for this, but I was watching 'The Naked Gun" last night as a sort of tribute to OJ Simpson when I spotted a familiar face. When Frank Drebin goes to visit Nordberg in hospital, the nurse at reception is played by Doris Hess. Doris played Emery Potter's long-time girlfriend/wife Mabel Wooster in "People's Choice".1 point
