As y'all know, I'm not from the US, but I'm aware that a lot of you are. Since I've been on HNet I've made a conscious effort to try to spell words the American way (when I remember there's a difference) - I just thought it would make things easier. We have trousers and pavements, y'all have pants and sidewalks (although trousers are called pants here in Ireland), but sometimes we even spell common words differently. I was planning on going to an American car show today (this one where I sat in a General Lee last year), but various factors conspired against it. Luckily there was another car related event much closer to home: Cannonball Ireland 2011 came to town. Unlike the namesake movies from the '80s, this was not a race, but just a charity fund-raising cruise of some very expensive cars including Ferraris, Porsches, Lamborghinis and Aston Martins amongst others: There were a few American cars there too: They all parked up in the grounds of the castle. There must have been several million dollars' worth of cars on show.

I not see my older brother this year because they will stay over his wife(sister-in-law) in Crested Butte, Colorado that bit far from Denver over in mountain drive so hope see this next summer for vacation for his birthday in August.. oh well.. I watched it again, giving it another go, and still, I found it ok, but was quite bored with it.The first time I watched, I was kinda of disgusted about J.R. drinking /driving racing, of course that was before I found out it wasn't really liquor in the whiskey bottle. Congratulations to the England women's football (soccer) team, AKA. The Lionesses, who won the Euros final earlier tonight. Victory came in a dramatic penalty shoot-out when the match ended 1-1 after extra time. This means that they retain the title which they first won in 2022. They beat Spain who won the World Cup against them in 2023. Over the past few years, the English team (men's and women's) have adopted Neil Diamond's 'Sweet Caroline' as an unofficial anthem, so I'll post this to celebrate.

I just watched two hours of CMAs Country Music Festival last night and I'm more convinced than ever that country music is dead. There were a few exceptions but basically those two hours were a rock/pop festival. Country and Western was what country used to be called but when the western part faded out, the western name was dropped. Marty Robbins was probably the last western singer. I think country should consider changing its name again since only about 20% of it is really "country" and that number drops every year. Thank goodness there's still a few country singers out there. I've been searching for a classic bicycle for a while now,and whilst cycling home last night I saw one in a dumpster. I went up to the house and offered them €5 for it,and went off to take it out and bring it home. Today I got my first proper look at it... All i can say is this beautiful pre 1970's ladies racer had been ruined by presumably a drunk ape with a can of white spraypaint. They didn't bother to tape off any areas,they just sprayed any available spot. I'm not sure if anyone has heard this yet but David Carradine past away some time late last night/ early this morning. It deeply sadden me that lost a great actor. I loved watching him play Kwai Chang Caine, in Kung Fu and "Kung Fu: The Legend Continues. He will truely be missed!!

Hey y'all I'm watching a show on tv at the moment that's about what's going to happen on December 21st 2012. Some of it is pretty believable but most of it seems dramatized.
