"Daisy Dukes" have officially been added to the Oxford English Dictionary, 46 years after we first saw them on screen. They are among over 230 new words/terms that will now appear in the OED. The Irish Sun (national tabloid newspaper) even made it their featured addition in this article. You can see the dictionary entry here. In case you weren't sure about the definition: Daisy Dukes, noun colloquial (originally and chiefly U.S.). Brief, tight-fitting denim shorts, typically made from a pair of cut-off jeans and usually worn by women. Also as a modifier with the first element in singular form, in Daisy Duke shorts.

The famous Hazzard County Stunt Show, presented by the Northeast Ohio Dukes, will be at the Lake County Fair on August 20th! There are NO cast appearances involved, this is a car stunt show only. But it's a great show, featuring the General Lee and police cars in live, dirt-flying, chase-and-crash action. I just saw something really cool. I was watching CNN just after 4:00 EST and they were talking about Obamacare. (I'll be really careful to not bring up politics since that's against the rules). Boss, Rosco and Flash have made it into the hallowed halls of the United States Congress. Republican Phil Gingrey from the great state of (you guessed it) Georgia had two huge posters of Boss and Rosco w/Flash while he was talking about health care. Also, CNN ran footage of an episode with Boss....the scene where he was getting sprayed with red paint (by Bo as I recall) in his chop shop. Burt Reynolds passed away today. He and Jimmie were close. I still remember at Jimmie's 75th birthday, he was surprised by a video birthday message from Burt (and Paul Newman too). It was so thoughtful and great. He'll be missed.

I grew up with the show, but have had a stronger resurgence of my 'fandom' in the last few years. I dove heavily into the show since then and have come to understand why it appeals to me. However, I know few people who are still interested enough to talk about different aspects of the show- that's why I come here. Just found out Bo Duke is going to be on "Dancing With the Stars"! My wife loves the show. I'll watch it occasionally just to hang out with her but never really paid too much attention. Now I have a reason to watch. I bet they'll be doing a lot of jumps.
