Since this forum hasn't been used for awhile I thought I'd get things stirred up. I saw Avatar several weeks ago and I was wondering what other folks thought of it. The visual effects were expectedly spectactular but I didn't necessarily think the plot was that great. They simply took what the Europeans did to the native American Indians and made it into a futuristic story. (I'm sure stuff like that went on in lots of other countries too besides North America). I'm not complainig. The movie was worth the money just for the special effects alone but the story-line didn't have enough twists in it to satisfy me. What do you think? As soon as I get some caps , I will post them. Well this summer another movie of fast cars and crazy stunts, coming to theater this summer, with Diesel of course and the other dude. The name of course "Fast and Furious", the trailer looks ok, seen a couple, and some of it is stretched a bit, but what the heck, can;t wait to see it.

I'm stuck. I'm trying to remember the Cheech and Chong movie, the one where they play double roles in as Arab guys and they have to deliver a car to the Arab guys. I can't remember the title. Maybe you can help? Help would be greatly appreciated y'all.

Anybody here ever see the movie The Villain with Kirk Douglas, Ann-Margaret, and Arnold Schwarzenegger? It's a classic good guy wins, bad guy gets pummeled in so many different funny ways type movie. Think live-action Wile E. Coyote. LOL. It's directed by Hal Needham, who happened to work on Smokey and the Bandit, Hooper, the Cannonball Run movies, and whole slew of other Burt Reynolds movies. Kirk Douglas plays the villain, Cactus Jack, who is hired to rob Charming Jones (Ann-Margaret) after she inherits a large sum of money. She is escorted by Handsome Stranger (Ah-nold). This is one of my favorite car-themed movies. Put together big-time movie stars and some kickass cars, and we have cinematic gold. For one thing, you can't go wrong with Dom DeLuise as Captain Chaos. For me, the best line belongs to Burt Reynolds: "We could do a Trans-Am....no, that's been done." Great Smokey and the Bandit reference. The sequel wasn't half bad, either.

I think most people here remember the Cannonball Run movies for Catherine Bach in the Countach, but there was more Hazzard in it than only Cathy. In Speed Zone, which some people consider to be Cannonball Run 3, is John Schneider also driving a Countach. Both of these are quite known. There is more though, in the first part of the first Cannonball Run are some driving parts which looks like the exact same roads as from the Georgia episodes on Dukes. Anybody who likes racin' movies will love this one. It is based on an article "The Last American Hero is Junior Johnson" by Tom Wolfe and appeared in Esquire magazine back in the 60's. the movie came out in 73 and stars Jeff Bridges as Junior Jackson , the son of a moonshiner who has dreams of racin in NASCAR. Mine are : 1-Where The Red Fern Grows 2-Old Yeller 3-Crocodile Dundee 1, 2, & 3 4-Smokey and the Bandit 1, 2, & 3 5-Final Destination 1 & 2 I put the set for Crocodile Dundee, Smokey and the Bandit, and Final Destination because I liked them equally. By the way I don't see to many movies. I wanted to see Walk the Line but did not get it see it yet, I plan on getting it when it comes out on DVD.

Just read a story that the latest Furious movie destroyed most of the cars they bought for production including 9 1968-70 dodger Chargers . I know it's a drop in the bucket compared to how many were destroyed making the Dukes of Hazzard series but still sad to see 9 more go to the scrapyard. I'll be glad when this movie franchise is finally dead!

New York or where the dukes was filmed my was a movie call Larger Than Life a Bill Murray movie 1996 Its the movie where Bill had to take the elephant cross country The scene where he goes into the little diner and ask's the witress if they had a salad bar and she say's yes he say's he'll take all of it in the back ground is smoke stacks the diner is actuilly a bar watch is 2 blocks from my house i never sead anything because at the time i did'nt have a computer and when i did git one i had forgot the movie i live in IL but sadly to this day i wish i had been an exter in that movie

I finally got to see this movie and Jimmie is pretty funny as a Grandfather only I only got to see a third because the copy I borrowed from the library didn't play too well in my dvd player. But the one part I like is when the exchange student from Puerto Rico arrives at the house Jimmie's character answers the door and says "Your Taco is Here."
