Maybe one of your good folks can help me out, my Dad has been swearing there was a song called or at least with the lyrics "i ain't no cowboy I just found this hat" but I've searched the net and no luck! We took a vacation to Nashville and asked in a couple stores and even THEY couldn't tell him who sang it. My sister's in-laws say they've heard it and it's Chris Ledou (probably spelled wrong) but I can't find it doing a search of his songs either. Has anyone else ever heard it and if so can you help me find the song? Thanks Brandy_lou

Well, the subtitle of the link to this forum says "Got a song stuck in your head? Type the lyrics in here and maybe it will go away", so here goes... Just two good ol' boys, Never meanin' no harm, Beats all you never saw, been in trouble with the law since the day they was born. Straightnin' the curves, flattenin' the hills, some day the mountain might get 'em but the law never will. Makin' their way, the only way they know how, that's just a lil' bit more than the law will allow. Just two good ol' boys, wouldn't change if they could, fighting the system like two modern-day Robin Hoods... Phew!

So I heard this song by the Zac Brown Band for the first time last week and immediately fell in love with it. If there ever was another song that would emmulate the Duke boys, this would be it. You know I like my chicken fried Cold beer on a Friday night A pair of jeans that fit just right And the radio up Well I was raised up beneath the shade of a Georgia pine And that`s home you know Sweet tea pecan pie and homemade wine Where the peaches grow And my house it`s not much to talk about But it`s filled with love that`s grown in southern ground And a little bit of chicken fried Cold beer on a Friday night A pair of jeans that fit just right And the radio up Well I`ve see…

I'm glory bound But when the chase is done I'll take off thru the mountains And have fun, fun, fun, I've got style Tearin' thru the curves Let my flag wave proudly To the people that I serve I'm number one And I will always be the pride of the South they call the General Lee

I just met a guy who just retired from being a sound man in Nashville for 35 years and still lives there. He has worked with just about every star I ever loved including Charlie Daniels, Waylon Jennings and John Schneider. He told me a lot of stories and I'll see him again tomorrow to hear some more. I suppose I shouldn't repeat them though! It sure was cool to hear from someone who has worked with Waylon and Bo!

I see that Hank Jr's 25th anniversary of "Country Boy Can Survive" has hit number one in CMT's videos this week. That song and "What the world needs is a few more rednecks" by The Charlies Daniels Band remind me a lot of them Duke boys. What other songs make you think of them?

  10. Am I right but couldn't everybody on HazzerdNet see Ben Jones being the Mechanic in the Music Video. This the latest single out for Alan Jackson.

My new favoritest song! It's raining here and it's been stuck in my head. (Mostly cause I'm glad it's FINALLY raining! haha) Rain is a Good Thing By Luke Bryan! My daddy spent his life lookin' up at the sky He'd cuss, kick the dust, sayin' son it's way too dry It clouds up in the city, the weather man complains But where I come from, rain is a good thing Rain makes corn, corn makes whiskey Whiskey makes my baby feel a little frisky Back roads are boggin' up, my buddies pile up in my truck We hunt our honeys down, we take 'em into town Start washin' all our worries down the drain Rain is a good thing Ain't nothin' like a kiss out back in the barn Wringin' out our soakin…

Charlie Daniels passed away this morning of a stroke. He was often called the hardest working man in the entertainment business. He has been my favorite singer for decades and I will miss him. I had the opportunity to speak to him three times and it was awesome. The first time I got my picture taken with him. The next time I got it autographed. The third time we talked about patriotism. Two of his songs "What this World Needs is a Few More Rednecks" and "Simple Man" are amongst my all-time favorites. My favorite Charlie moment was listening to him sing "How Great Thou Art" under a beautiful twilight West Virginia sky. Good bye Charlie. You will be missed. The world has lo…

I know that probably not many people on this forum is into his style of metal music, but I wish to give my condolences to "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott's family. I find it very disturbing in today's world where people are turning to violence, especially with firearms. Now, I do not wish to start any personal political views on this forum. So, I'll just leave it as that. Darrell was an amazing musician who had so many great fans who admire his ability to play. May he rest in peace.
