Here's a fact I stumbled across recently, and maybe ya'll knew this already, or maybe not. But for a quirk of fate, ol' Waylon might not have been with us long enuff to become the Balladeer for the Dukes of Hazzard. Back in the late 50's, a rising rock star by the name of Buddy Holly had put together a new back-up band for a winter concert tour. Waylon Jennings became his bass guitarist. Is it weird for a DOH fan (myself) to be a really huge fan of rock/metal music? I mean don't get me wrong I really like country too but my love of rock music overpowers country music. I'm not a stereotypical person, and I hate stereotypes personally but I always kinda thought most DOH fans are country music fans as well.

I see that Hank Jr's 25th anniversary of "Country Boy Can Survive" has hit number one in CMT's videos this week. That song and "What the world needs is a few more rednecks" by The Charlies Daniels Band remind me a lot of them Duke boys. What other songs make you think of them?
