Anyone interested in helping me wonder our way through Hazzard to the State Capitol and find out how our favorite mechanic and my big brother, went from the greasy, hairy mechanic to a cleaned up, shaved Congressman?? What made him even interested in running and since he's there, how has Hazzard benefited???

I posted this on the Dukes of Hazzard Forum on FF.net known as "The Boar's Nest" and thought I'd post it here too. The challenge is to write a cross-over with our favorite family with any fandom of your choice. Understandably some parts of canon may have to be ignored for this to work but PLEASE keep them all in character. After all, what fun would it be to read a fic that was a Dukes fic in name only? If you take on the challege let folks know where they can read your story. Either here, FF, or some other site. This could be fun.

Rare disease awareness day was recently (I'm a little slow on the draw by about a month), but it got me to thinking, with another awareness day coming up for a disease, why not issue a challenge to raise awareness of rare diseases? I am currently writing a story with a friend to help raise awareness for Hereditary Angioedema which has such a long road to diagnosis for so many people, and the emergency rooms, many don't know how to treat it. Many a doctor has never heard of it, or they only hear the "AngioEdema" instead of the whole name, which they are two different monsters. Raising awareness to rare diseases will help people on the road to diagnosis, and remove some of …

It can be scary, doesn't have to be. Maybe just a few minutes or hours. One of my favorite stories I ever wrote, took a small nap, woke up from a dream and started typing. 4 hours later - there was 15 or 16 pages to turn into MaryAnne. There wasn't much editing either. Granted, not every story will be that same result. Unless you try, how can you know that same wonderful feeling? I challenge those who haven't written a solo story, to attempt too!

Does anyone recall "Duck Amuck," he WB cartoon with Daffy Duck being drawn in crazy ways, constnatly changing and conflicting scenes, and so on? Funny stuff even comes from his mouth. Even the end, the artist is revealed, as Bugs Bunny looks at the camera fromt he drawing board and says, "Ain't I a Stinker/" It would be hard with a TV show - but it's worth a shot. One more, then I'm off for a little while. Given Flash's breed, it's very probably the same one was aroudn all 7 seasons - but it'd make an interesting one for just after the series ends. What's the history of Rosco's dogs? Has his dog always been named Flash? (I think in my Hazzard Sparkplugs I have Waylon saying something like "It was either Flash VI or V by this time - noone could remember which.") Hi. First of all, I'm a reader, now a writer, but I enjoy most of the stories I find here. Is there any Enos/Daisy/boys writer willing to take on the time period between them all leaving Hazzard and meeing at the reunion? I mean, about Daisy meeting LJ, how Luke got into firefighting, Bo into NASCAR, etc. I am into Daisy/Enos, so I'd like something that covers his reaction to her marriage, going to college, etc, but would take anything. I'm not a fan of 500 page, one liner stories, but would appreciate anyone's feedback. No flames, please, I really am an avid fan of DOH. Thanks, Marilyn

Sorry, but this is separate from the political challenge (or is it? Might not have to be) so it gets a new post. Your challenge is to writ ea fanfic that explains the insurnace industry in Hazzard and how Boss Hogg keeps replacing all those patrol cars. Hmmm, now that I think about it, that *could* be a tie-in to the political one. Maybe in return for leaving Hazzard alone, Boss Hogg makes sure the state reps and members ofthe House of Representatives have sweetheart deals with reps from some other district where they make all those cars. they then support each other's legislationa ll the time, etc.. I have no time for fanfic anymore, at least not big, long ones, though I've got a few Dukes ones here and on fanfiction.net. However, I have one itneresting one for yo'all. Boss Hogg's obviously got a whole county pretty much under his thumb, like a number of such Southern bosses. He dabbles witht he big boys a lot (and needs the Dukes to get him *out* of such scrapes), but that's usually in crime. What if he was to try his hand in politics at a state level. Or even national - don'tcha wonder just what the U.S. Rep. from that district thinks? Too late for a Christmas challenge? Tonight, was reading through previous holiday stories. There are some really good ones, that were only a few pages. Focused on one character. Terrific longer stories too. Here is the challenge: Write a story that takes place around Christmas or New Years. Even if you only get part of it done, share a preview and turn in when finished. Maybe you have a story that you've never submitted, submit it! Does that sound good?

I just came up with an interesting challenge idea write a story about someone having a illness , bug I don't want anyone to die but the choice is yours. their is no due date so whenever the stories are finished send them to Hnet.

We've all seen tv shows with a character getting amnesia, being trapped (in an elevator, freezer, vault, etc), role reversals, twins, the trip out of town (Hollywood, Hawaii, etc), mistakenly thinking they're dying, etc. Well, I issue an ongoing challenge for folks to write a Dukes of Hazzard fan fiction story using a commonly used tv cliche. Of course, many Dukes episodes featured some of these same cliches, so you may also take one of these episodes and re-write them a new way, perhaps switching the characters around. Feel free to list your favorite cliches in this thread to spark some ideas for our writers!

I have an idear here. I'm going to try this tonight but I don't know when I'm gonna finish. I would like to see what others would come up with as well if they tried this. What about a song challenge? Write a story with created or orginal Dukes characters. Make it a story that follows or uses the words of one of the following songs.
