Dukes of Hazzard General Discussion

Often heard about this show, never seen an episode. Is it anywhere out there? Trade, download? Anything?

There have to be some CB radio enthusiasts out there- anyone ever pay attention to the CB radios used on the show? I'm sure somebody has pegged the kind used in the General Lee, but what about other characters? The patrol cars, Jesse, Cooter, Daisy, etc.? Also, the CB base stations at the Duke farm, etc. I'll start off: I have only looked into one, and that is the base station used in Cooter's Garage. Its a radio shack REALISTIC TRC-432 NAVAJO CB base station (with the brand name blacked out with black tape). Does anyone know if Christopher Hensel, AKA: Jebb Stuart Duke, ever goes to any of the Dukes events? I'd love to add his autograph to my collection. I almost never see anything about him on Dukes forums and I was just wondering. Yes, I know he was only in one episode but he was still a Duke Boy. I had a question about Hobie....I forgot who played Hobie and I also ( and this is what really bugs me!) can't remember....WHERE HAVE I SEEN HIM BEFORE??? He used to be on something before the Dukes! I think he MAY have played a drunk then to....???

I'm building a detailed model of the Hazzard Garage, trying to match everything seen in the series. There is one object in the garage that is a mystery to me- in one corner is some sort of 'hood' object. Anyone have any idea what its supposed to be (in the context of an auto repair garage)? Has anyone every figured this out? Been watching some eps on CMT and trying to nail down the interior layout. Of course I've noticed the way they changed things around occasionally. From what I've observed so far, it looks like at some point they completely swapped the two sides of the room relative to the front door. I have hinted to this new thread in the past. It's time to have a try. Now, Daisy Duke is my favorite character (beside Enos, of course ): Catherine is a beautiful woman, long legs, perfect silhouette, sweet smile and blue-green eyes (I know that men out there agree). BUT Daisy Duke is also famous because of her outfits, especially those short shorts that took her name. Along the show is the one who change her outfit in every episode, and sometimes also along the same episode. Ready for a belly-full of Daisy? A perfect show of short shorts and tight top. hey guys, just wondering if yall ever noticed that john Schneider ran funny like something was wrong with his leg. he was very slow compared to tom and the episode about his new boots focused on it and once bo was sitting on a keg and said his leg fell asleep when he limped. it didn't fit with any story of the episode. there is a few more things I cant think of now.

I've always been intrigued by the one-off appearance by "(an)other Duke cousin", motorcycle riding Jeb Stuart Duke, played by Christopher Hensel, in season three's "Along Came a Duke". Odd that he would be introduced in such a way, never featured again, and in all my years collecting and writing about Dukes, I have never really found out the story behind the character. In my youth, part of me wondered if he had been introduced as a possible replacement for Bo should John Schneider ever leave - I vaguely recall an article with Schneider suggested that producers gave him a hard time after misleading them about his age when he auditioned and used to wonder if it related to …

Probably a very basic question that's already been done over the years, but what do you personally consider to the be the best season of the show? Mine would be the first season. I'm a huge fan of the original Georgia episodes, more dramatic and edgy, I've always wished that much of that had continued. Even after episode 5, the first season is a strong one for being experimental and not very generic, and with less slapstick than later seasons. Beyond season 1, which is so different it's sometimes hard to compare, I would definitely rate Season 3 as the show's best. I've always liked the episodes with Boss's maybe-even-crookeder nephew Hughie Hogg. He was always an enjoyable character, and was good to have a younger character of Bo / Luke / Daisy's own sort of age, but with Boss's cunning, for them to tackle once in a while. What is everyone's favourite (and least favourite) Hughie episodes? The episodes he appeared in are: * "Uncle Boss" (produced early in season two, but postponed until season three) introducing the character * "Arrest Jesse Duke" (s2) - an odd Hughie appearance in that Jeff Altman was brought in last minute to fill for Rosco when James Best boycotted the show, and as such mostly just reads Rosco's lines instead …

What is everyone's feelings on the episodes, of which there were quite a few, where a cast member would either play an identical twin of a character, or the character would have an "alter ego" change of personality? Did you like them, or did you feel they were too silly an stretched the credibility of the series; and what was the best and worst of such episodes? About a year ago I made a definitive list of all such episodes, but I though I'll let other members try to name the episodes before I give the list.

Look at the eyes of Bo, Daisy and Luke, on the cover of season 2's DVD....notice Tom Wopat's eyes! You think he is VERY sleepy or buzzed, drunk or....?? Ever notice this? I mean I guess we all know Tom is a boozer...so....???
