So does dukesfest even exstist anymore ? Or is the hazzard reuion now replaced it ?

Wow!! I am still high on cloud 9 right now from last night….It was sooooo awesome!! I promise I will try not to ramble and make my story uncomprehendable ( Is that even a word, spell check is telling me no!)….But I wouldn’t count on it…So anyways I reckon I will start from the beginning…. Ben's already announced he's gonna do it again. Yes, Virginia, there IS a 2012 Hazzard Homecoming, August 11 & 12. Same location as last year in Sperryville VA. This will be the biggest annual Dukes of Hazzard fan gathering of the year. (formerly known as "DukesFest".) This is the fastest we've seen him announce the next year's event, so he must have somethin' cookin'! No other details are yet public. As soon as they are, we'll post more. First off...This is what happens after a Hazzard Homecoming, and you've been cooked like a goose.... You die...lmao Anyways....I was sooo glad that hotel had a pool...Thanks Brian for recommending it...it was a nice little place to stay, it actually looked like my grandma's house inside!! And there was this great little restaurant called the Brookside Restaurant....The rest of the time we had to eat dollar menu from Mickey D's cause Hazzard Homecoming ate all our money!! I'm wondering if anybody is going? I'm not seeing a whole lotta buzz on their Facebook about it, and our promotional efforts on FB got a limited response. We've mentioned the event in our prior newsletter, and I put it on the home page tonight just as a reminder. The ticket prices are reasonable, so I'm wondering what's holding people back...too far away? Gas prices? Too much like Hazzard Homecoming? Too close to Sperryville? Where the hell is Galax? The only thing that kinda makes me go "hmm", is the fact they're already promoting their own hats and t-shirts for the event. To their credit, they look very professional and well-made. Yet... OK so I made it down from NJ to VA with my buddy John, My son Aaron & myself as well as my General Lee!!!!!!!!!!!! Yee-Haw what a blast. Just a few words and AS ALWAYS WITH ME PIX!!! to let you know what fun we had! I gave my buddy John a complete 69 Charger door painted & stickered up as a surprise gift for his helping me with putting my General Lee back together. He brought it to Hazzard Homecoming to get it signed and if you buy/bought the DVD of the event (as we did) you will see it was a great idea to bring the door because.............. He was interviewed and mentions the story about how he got it and also My son & I are shown sitting on the ground behin…

I was not able to go this year do you think there will be a Dukesfest or Hazzard homecoming in 2012? Did they mention it? Sorry if this was asked before I'm new to the forum. Sean

If you don't have tickets to Hazzard Homecoming yet...so what. You can buy them at the event, which is good news for last-minute planning! The event location is slightly different than the original Sperryville location of DukesFest, but not by much. Instead of being on Hwy 211, it's on Route 522. What's that mean locally? Well, if you're on 211, turn into the town of Sperryville itself to get on Route 522, and then keep going a little ways. The closest towns likely to have hotel rooms are Front Royal, Luray, and Culpeper. Luray was pretty much booked up last I checked. Front Royal had places open but they were higher $. The 1st Dukesfest presented by Cooter's Place in Sperryville Virginia was late August 2001. http://www.cootersplace.com/ 10th anniversary/reunion is in mid August 2011.

Credit to Phyllis for this unfortunate news. Always remember the story your grandson told after his Dukesfest stunt. He could've talked about himself, instead shared a memory about you. Thank you Mr. Baxley and your loyal crew for all you helped make the Dukes Of Hazzard become when critics said it wouldn't last the first commercial break. All these years later, folks are still yapping about the Dukes Of Hazzard. Thank you!

hi, my name is lee hodges. i am absoulutaly in love with the dukes of hazzard show. i strongly belive that its should be in little rock arkansas. many people here love the dukes of hazzard as much as i do. i hope and pray that the duke boys make it down to little rock for their 2011 dukesfest. my heart would be absoultaly crushed if it wasnt. it is my only chance to see it. i cannot afford to go anywhere else to see it. please you guys. stand behind me in moving it to little rock arkansas.

Competition is one thing that has made this country great. In fact, it makes us all better when we have a little friendly competition in our lives. Some folks take their competition seriousely and some folks just like to compete for fun. There was a Waylon quote on the episode "Mrs. Daisy Hogg" that went like this: "If any of y'all ever drive through Hazzard, well ya might remember that if it's got wheels, folks tend to want to race it." That's Hazzard folks for you...competitive to their core. You don't need any more proof than to just look at how Bo and Luke interacted with each other. I bet that before Luke went in the Marines, little Bo couldn't beat him at anything…

Great News! The Ray Kohn Dukes of Hazzard Stunt Show has just scheduled an event for September 4th. It is to takes place at a HUGE car show north of Youngstown Ohio at the Trumbull County Fairgrounds. Check out www.oxroastcarshow.com to get information about the ox roast and car show. The Dukes show is scheduled for Saturday Sept 4 at 6:00. If you go to the car show's website and it's not listed, don't be surprised because it might not be updated yet. Please don't hate me. The Dukes are way down there in Dixie and I'm up north in Pennsylvania. I hope I don't get anybody mad with this suggestion. Has anybody thought of more than one Dukes Fest? I'm not proposing that us northern Dukes should have something as big as the real Dukes Fest. I'm not suggesting they be in competition or anything like that. I was wondering has anyone gotten there dukesfest dvd's yet. I know they where suppose to be shipped last week or this week. So does anyone know if they have been shipped yet?

I was in Gatlinburg Tn. last weekend and Rick Hurst ,"Cletus Hogg",was at cooter's garage, and he said that dukesfest 09 might possible be held around that area at the fair grounds.

Does anyone know what the General Lee that made the jump at Dukesfest 08 brought at auction? What about the 2 police cars? Someone had to hang around long enough to know.

dukesfest 08 was awesome i had a 2 day pass so i was there to witness everything this was my first year im glad i got to go because james best probably wont be here much loger i hope i get 2 go again
