Roth Potter Posted October 18, 2013 Report Posted October 18, 2013 A Comic book of a superhero. Quote
Hobie Hartkins Posted October 19, 2013 Report Posted October 19, 2013 No it was a Warner Brothers cartoon character of some sort...but I can't remember which. He said he still had a Porky Pig and something else that he hadn't read yet!! Quote
RogerDuke Posted October 20, 2013 Report Posted October 20, 2013 I was only looking for comic book for an answer so you're both right. From the same episode who was the former owner of the motorcycle that was in Waylon's rolling museum? Quote
Roth Potter Posted October 20, 2013 Report Posted October 20, 2013 Johnny Cash? I've got no idea at this one. Quote
HossC Posted October 20, 2013 Report Posted October 20, 2013 I used to know this, but my mind's gone blank. I'm pretty sure it was a famous singer. Any chance of muliple choice, Roger? Quote
RogerDuke Posted October 22, 2013 Report Posted October 22, 2013 I'll put up some multiple choices tomorrow. Quote
RogerDuke Posted October 23, 2013 Report Posted October 23, 2013 From the same episode who was the former owner of the motorcycle that was in Waylon's rolling museum?A) Hank Williams Sr. Willie Nelson C) Chubby Checker D) Buddy Holly Quote
HossC Posted October 23, 2013 Report Posted October 23, 2013 Thanks Roger. Now I see the options, D) Buddy Holly rings a bell. Of course I could be remembering a completely different storyline . Quote
Hobie Hartkins Posted October 24, 2013 Report Posted October 24, 2013 It is for a fact...Buddy Holly!! Quote
RogerDuke Posted October 24, 2013 Report Posted October 24, 2013 4 H's it is. Hobie Harkins and Hoss got Holly. Buddy Holly wasn't anybody who had a career that I followed. I was a little too young for that and my parents only listened to country and western music. I thought he was only a rocker so I was surprised his motorcycle was in a country music museum but then again I don't know much about him. Fill in the blank. Big (blank) Hogg of Rapaho County is Boss's cousin. 1) Mike 2) Hoss 3) Bubba 4) Dan 5) Joe Quote
HossC Posted October 24, 2013 Report Posted October 24, 2013 I think BL's right. Dan sounds familiar from when I was looking up county names last week (otherwise I wouldn't have a clue!).Buddy Holly wasn't anybody who had a career that I followed. I was a little too young for that and my parents only listened to country and western music. I thought he was only a rocker so I was surprised his motorcycle was in a country music museum but then again I don't know much about him.Roger, don't forget that Waylon was the bass player in Buddy Holly's band on the Winter Dance Party Tour at the time of Holly's death in a plane crash. The crash also killed J. P. Richardson aka. The Big Bopper and Richie Valens. Waylon gave his seat on the plane to Richardson. I'm not sure if it's the same bike, but according to this article, Buddy Holly bought a maroon and black Ariel Cyclone in 1958. His father kept it until 1970, but in 1979 a couple of The Crickets tracked it down, bought it, and presented to Waylon for his birthday. Quote
RogerDuke Posted October 25, 2013 Report Posted October 25, 2013 Wow! Awesome piece of historical information Hoss. Thanks! Quote
Hobie Hartkins Posted October 25, 2013 Report Posted October 25, 2013 Im sorry I missed the show earlier, but when the wife calls.... it was Big Dan Hogg, and as far as Waylon's connection with Buddy Holly, Buddy Holly, The Big Bopper and Richie Valens, all big rockers back in the day, crashed on Feb. 3, 1959. Waylon was supposed to be on that plane and gave his seat up to the Big Bopper! I imagine he and Buddy were friends, since they toured together. Waylon said ( I heard him say it on T.V.) that he and Buddy were talking before they seperated and Buddy jokingly said, " I hope you have wreck on the way to the show", or something like that, and Waylon said, " Well I hope your plane crashes". Must have been hard on Waylon after it did! Quote
RogerDuke Posted October 28, 2013 Report Posted October 28, 2013 BL Davenport, Hoss and Hobie got it right. It was Big Dan Hogg. What new vehicle arrived in "The Runaway"? A) The Mean Green Machine Cale Yarborough's white Dodge Charger C) Dixie JeepD) Rosco and Enos's three wheelersE) Miz Tisdale's Yamaha dirt bike F) a fake General LeeG) the President's Limo H) the Duke's new tractor I) Hughie Hogg's white VW bug J) none of the above Quote
K-Duke15 Posted October 28, 2013 Report Posted October 28, 2013 I know this one, it's C) Dixie Jeep. Quote
Roth Potter Posted October 28, 2013 Report Posted October 28, 2013 J) none of the aboveAs Dixie was first seen in the episode 'Arrest Jesse Duke' in the order the episodes were aired. Meaning Dixie was introduced in the runaway but was seen for the first time a few episodes before.Confusing huh? Quote
LizzyJackson-Davenport Posted October 29, 2013 Report Posted October 29, 2013 Considering Roger asked "arrived" and not "first seen" I'm going to have to agree with K-duke15 that it is Dixie Jeep. Quote
RogerDuke Posted October 30, 2013 Report Posted October 30, 2013 Thanks for your explanation Lizzy because you described what I was thinking very well. Thanks for explaining the episode mix up Roth. I forgot all about it when I wrote the question. So, to be diplomatic I'm going to say you're all right but K-Duke and Lizzy are righter. LOL Quote
RogerDuke Posted November 1, 2013 Report Posted November 1, 2013 From "Bye Bye Boss" what did the Dukes use to search for Boss when he was being held hostage in an old remote shack? A) horses The General Lee converted to 4 wheel drive C) ultralight glidersD) dirt bikes (motorcycles) E) The Mean Green Machine F) Jesse's truck Quote
Roth Potter Posted November 1, 2013 Report Posted November 1, 2013 Not B, C or E I think so i'm going for A) horses. Quote
HossC Posted November 1, 2013 Report Posted November 1, 2013 They used some sort of gliders to find the Beaudry's remote shack, but I think Roth is correct that it was horses in 'Bye, Bye Boss'. Quote
Roth Potter Posted November 1, 2013 Report Posted November 1, 2013 Yes, I believe so too.And The General Lee converted to 4 wheel drive was only in the episode 'Arrest Jesse Duke'.While E) The Mean Green Machine was never driven by any Duke. And F) Jesse's truck is too obvious for me though very possible.D) dirt bikes were only used by the Duke Boys in a few episodes but never for searching, only to chase bad guys or practice for a derby in Bo's case.
