  1. Another tip for success: Have your own style.
  2. "Oh, you'll have a disguise," BlackJack snickered. "We got some clothes from a dead homesteader that outta fit you just fine. Just never mind the bullet holes in the back of the shirt. Ain't nobody gonna see 'em anyhow." This remark amused the gang, and with loud guffaws, a heap of clothing was tossed in Alex's direction. A simple outfit of theadbare denim jeans, suspenders, and a faded flannel shirt, were all that remained of a luckless pioneer who had crossed BlackJack's path. The town of Hazzard, and it's Sheriff's department, seemed just as doomed. (Cue anybody! Wow, it's been awhile, but let's stir this back up....)
  3. Just for fun, here's a short list of my personal food dislikes: Pickled beets Radishes Cream of mushroom soup Diet soda Low-carb anything Yogurt Peas Skim milk Cooking spray (what is that stuff? It's like WD-40!) Sushi Liver Actually, I don't turn up my nose at much - but this is the stuff I'll avoid if I can help it. Anybody else picky at the table? Brian
  4. Brandy, your HazzardNet status automatically updates as you continue to post to the boards. So, to become a "Hazzardite for Life" all you need to do is keep participating in the forums here. Brian
  5. We've had some buyers of the RC General Lees come forward with a couple of issues. The first of which being...replacement parts needed! And while I can find plenty of RC part suppliers online, I can't find parts specific to "Malibu International", the maker of the RC General Lee. I don't know how feasible it is to swap out the wheels from an RC General Lee to any other RC wheels/tires. Check for a hobby store in your area or an RC racing club to make sure, before taking your RC General apart. Meanwhile, in my quest for parts, I found a news brief that said Malibu Int'l will be making more RC General Lees. Originally they were in production for the 2005 Christmas season only, but apparently they will be re-announced at an upcoming Toy Fair in the east coast. This is good news for anyone who hasn't already bought one and wants one. Bad news for anybody who hoarded some last Christmas and was hoping to turn a profit on ebay. Unload them now if you got 'em. If anyone is desperate for replacement parts or other information that needs to come from the manufacturer, you can try contacting Malibu International at the following: Malibu International, Ltd. 2456 Verna Court San Leandro, CA 94577 I'll share more info as I find it. fyi! Brian
  6. The retail price on the Dukes movie DVD has been authorized for price discounts. So if you haven't bought it at $19.95, try looking for it now at $14.95 or so. Retailer participation varies. This applies to both the PG-13 and Unrated versions. Brian
  7. Howdy Dixie, welcome to HazzardNet. We got quite a few WI Dukes fans that hang around here. I know there's at least one in Rusk County, which ain't too far from your neck of the woods. I know there's a few others in the state too, 'cause they give me hell when I tease about Wisconsin. Ya know, there's a great restaurant just south of Eau Clarie , in a little down called Osseo. It's the "Norske Nook" and they got the best homemade pie to be had. Get there for breakfast, and try the pancakes, they're the size of a car tire. Worth the trip all the way around. If you're into BBQ, look for the Famous Dave's in your area. It's a MN/WI chain and the ribs are awesome. If you don't dig ribs, go with the beef brisket sandwich. Hope the move turns out to be a good change for ya! From the food alone I think you'll enjoy it. Brian
  8. Today's Tip for Success: Have a sense of self-worth. Brian
  9. Well, thhpbth!! You shoulda posted it then. Some folks are seeing the movie for the first time, via movie-on-demand and DVD rental and such. So I thought I'd put it up here. The stunts were the best part of the movie and this is one of the better articles on 'em. Butt, if you prefer, I can post Jessica Simpson articles. Lessee what's out there....we got, "Jessica Simpson Sells Ass to Pizza Hut" and "Jessica Moons over Maroon5 Singer." Guess I'll stick to the stunt articles. Brian
  10. Val, there has been some....supernatural coincidence, in some respects. There are a handful of people who probably see the similarities. Some of those similarities, though, are like a fry pan over the head. In fact, last week's episode was a cross between "Daisy's Shotgun Wedding" and the ol' classic flick, "Deliverance." Imagine the Beaudry's from Dukes of Hazzard as being cannibalistic manhunters for sport. THEN ya start gettin' the picture. In fact, the Evil Patriarch Hillbilly on last week's Supernatural ep, could have been the evil impersonation of a certain uncle in Hazzard County... And if these two bad ol' boys are cousins, we're better off not knowing... Fun, eh? You know what was cool about this ep, is there weren't any evil spirts, there were no ghosts, no demons. It was just the Winchester boys against some psychotic, murderous, fun-lovin' hillbillies. Oh, but the good guys had some help. There was this female deputy in this small town, ya see.... There were definately some moments that felt familair between certain characters. I guess when you boil it all down, the coincidences are fun to entertain. (photos as found on supernatural.tv )
  11. Looks like WB is still counting the dollars. They've made back their initial investment without trying too hard. The movie was made for a budget of 50 million; there was a lawsuit settlement before it was ever released, adding another...what was it, 17 million, to the tab. The Dukes movie pulled in 33 million the opening box office weekend. The movie DVD release back in Dec, pulled in several million on it's own the first week. And while the movie has been nominated for the of Worst of 2005, everyone pretty much agrees that the stunts were epic. The way the radio-controlled General Lees were flying off shelves last Christmas, the merchandising alone has to account for a tidy sum. I don't know what other Dukes sites are saying - hell, I haven't been able to keep up on the home turf lately, let alone spy around. But it seems that WB remains in favor of a sequel, if measured by earnings potential alone. Thing is, Johnny Knoxville is going to be filming "Jackass 2" by the sounds of it, during late 2006. Both Knoxville and SWS remain aloof about the prospects of starring in a Dukes sequel. The one person who really needs, and wants, the movie sequel is Jessica Simpson. Is she a hot enough commodity to WB, to make them go forward with a sequel? Or has WB decided that this star lacks staying power, and are they only too happy to have made their money and moved on? Brian
  12. We still get email questions from some folks, asking how many Chargers were used in the movie, and how a stunt was filmed, ect. If you want to know more about stuff like this: Then check out the article here: http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/Features/articleId=106716#11 Interestin' facts and some good photos. Enjoy! Brian

See ya there! Brian
  14. Awright, you two are about to hold the HazzardNet record for "longest dueling posts between two people." Debates on the movie are one thing, but now y'all are just kicking dust over each other's boots. Let's call it a draw. Brian
  15. I've seen one on the show itself, some episode where the bad guys are tracking down the Dukes. And someplace a fan might have drawn an artistic concept. And in Covington GA, they might have some kinda map of filming locations from the first few episodes, but I can't be certain. That aside, I typed "Hazzard County GA" into Google Earth just to see what would happen. It actually brought up the southeast section of the country, and offered selections like "Cooter's Place" and Covington GA. Sonofagun! Brian
  16. I felt compelled as a moderator to edit the more offensive content from Hope's post. I also excercised a small degree of editorial liberty with it in order to amuse myself. Nothin' personal "hope" but if you (BLEEP) and (BLEEP) all over the (BLEEPIDY-BLEEP) boards you kinda bring down the (BLEEPING) tone of courtesy and decorum that HNet strives to (BLEEP) maintain. And I'm not one of those (BLEEPING BLEEP) moderators that delete everything , because I'm too (BLEEPING) lazy. So I ask you to conduct yerself with less (BLEEP ) and more diplomacy in respect to our more delicate particpants. Thank ya. Brian
  17. Tickets are going on sale in approx 2 weeks. Watch for breaking news at cootersplace.com. And of course we'll fill ya in after they've made their official announcements. Without stealin' anybody's thunder, all I can say is that if you plan on going, get your tickets sooner rather than later once they're available! Brian
  18. I can confirm that a sequel was contractually planned for, but I've yet to find confirmation that it's really happening at this stage. Having lived through all the underground rumblings and speculations that surrounded the first movie - I can tell ya this is about par for the course. Meantime the DVD sales are promising, and I believe the wind is blowing in the right direction. WB, however, has not made any decision public. My own stance is Cautiously Optimistic. Brian
  19. You're right, those woulda been fished out and sold on ebay for a ridiculous amount of money. Talk about "flood damaged" vehicles.... yow. Brian
  20. Yes you should. In fact, I'm looking for those kinda stories to place on DukesofHazzardfanfic.com for the month o' February. See my prior posts that are scattered around for details. Even with that aside, I think you should write it. And besides, you should always write what you want to write. Not what you think somebody wants to read. True creativity ain't made to order like a fast-food hamburger. Dammit, now I'm hungry. Brian
  21. Hey, TDGL 01, you mean where did I find stuff like this? Rank last wk wks out Rev 1 1 2 THE 40-YEAR-OLD-VIRGIN (UNI) 8.27 2 NEW 1 FOUR BROTHERS (PAR) 7.25 3 2 4 MR. & MRS. SMITH (FOX) 5.83 4 NEW 1 THE EX OF EMILY ROSE* (SONY) 6.00 5 NEW 1 MUST LOVE DOGS (WB) 5.80 6 NEW 1 THE BROTHERS GRIMM (DIS) 6.13 7 3 2 THE ISLAND (DW/UNI) 5.11 8 4 3 FANTASTIC FOUR (FOX) 4.43 9 5 3 THE DUKES OF HAZZARD* (WB) 3.76 I'm not telling. What I will tell ya, is the Dukes movie DVD, as of 12/25/05, slipped down to 9th place in sales/rentals. This is kinda normal, though. DVD's fall fast, as whatever is newest, is hottest. On the upside, the DVD has churned out just under 20 million on it's own, by 12/25/05. That's not bad at all. In US theatres, the movie grossed just over 80 million. Which ain't terrible, but for all the hype, ain't all that impressive. The strong DVD numbers suggest that a lot of folks took the, "I'll wait until I can rent it" stance. Not a surprise there. Brian
  22. Here's the information for creative credits on Moonrunners: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0071854/ And to answer the earlier post, Amazon.com is not showing a release date just yet. But since they've listed the movie on their site, it seems intended for future distribution. I've looked for this movie on Amazon.com before, without anything coming up at all. Hence my optimism. Don't bet the farm on it though. Brian
  23. On the other hand, what if it's true? I wonder what the salvage discovery laws are in CA. I'm gettin' a snorkel kit and goin' in. Brian
