Rosco made no immediate decision, though his blue eyes remained hard. Brian was right, he was worried about MaryAnne. But he had a job to finish first. "We ain't two miles out. Just shut up and ride..." **** MaryAnne yanked on the tethered rope that held Red and the thoroughbred was forced to come up a little bit. "Well, it can't be what's left of your rustling buddies. They wouldn't be stupid enough to come back to town." MaryAnne unhitched the tether rope from Red's halter and wound it up quickly, shoving it into one of her saddle bags. She then looked at Chet. "As for you bein' unarmed, I put your guns in your saddle bags. You try and duck behind me like that again, I'll shoot you myself for being a coward!" She looked back to the distance and the riders that were coming into view. Suddenly, their pace slowed, as they became aware that ahead of them were two stationary riders. MaryAnne counted five...maybe six riders. It was hard to tell at the distance, they were clumped together pretty closely. They continued coming at a trot, and when they were about a hundred yards away MaryAnne recognized the lead rider. At the same time, the rider recognized her. The morning sun behind MaryAnne shined off the silver barrel of the .45 as it was pulled from the lead rider's holster. "Oh damn!" MaryAnne immediately yanked on Phoenix's reins and kicked the flanks, turning the Appaloosa around. A gunshot cracked the morning air. If MaryAnne got paid to be shot at....she was about to earn her day's salary... (cue anyone!)

MaryAnne sighed and was about to tell Chet to just be quiet when she noticed a cloud of dust on the trail in the distance ahead of her. The dust cloud was heavy, indicating more than one horse and that they were coming at a good speed. Phoenix pulled to stop before MaryAnne had even pulled on the reins. Red stopped too the ears of both horses were flicking back and forth. Something was coming....and MaryAnne couldn't help but think it was trouble. MaryAnne pulled her bowie knife from her saddle bag and pulled on the tether rope for Red to move up. The ropes that held Chet were cut in quick strikes. "Get in the saddle, Chet. Company's comin'....and I don't think it's a welcoming commitee..." (cue anybody)

"Dyin' ain't much of a livin'," MaryAnne muttered. "Yeah, Chet we all have to make a livin'. And I'm just doin' my job." (cue anyone)

"You really think sittin' up in the saddle is gonna be any more comfortable?" MaryAnne made no move to stop her horse or Red but did slow to a more comfortable walk. "Besides, I've been a deputy long enough to know atleast three or four tricks you could pull the minute I let you down off that saddle. You knock me cold, take off on your horse and probably take mine with ya, seeing your found of horse theivin'. Nope, you're stayin' like that until we're two miles out." (cue anybody)

>>Brian, you have wicked scene of humor. Who would want a car that would leave you stranded.<< You've never met Brian's car. My own car, which looks enough like KITT as it is and has it OWN way of back talkin' to me, would probably be fairly well behaved if self-automated. I think. Maybe. ROFL

Rosco and MaryAnne both turned when Chet hit the floor. The two law officers just looked at the pile of outlaw on the floor and both shook their heads. "That was bright," Rosco commented. "Damn fool's bleedin' all over my floor..." MaryAnne complained. She sighed and then turned to Rosco, Enos and Val. "Val, you can go with Enos if you like. Rosco, help me pick Chet up off the floor and we'll get this over with." Rosco nodded. The cell door was unlocked and first MaryAnne took Chet's bandanda and tied it around his head to keep him from bleeding to death. She then picked Chet up by the arms, while Rosco grabbed the young Duke's feet. The hauled him out of the jail house to where the horses are tied. It took a few minutes, but they managed to get the inert form slung over his horse. To keep the outlaw from sliding off, MaryAnne used Chet's own rope, looping it through his belt, a couple of times around the saddle horn and then tying it around his left arm, near the shoulder. The two then returned inside the jail house. MaryAnne's orders were quick and efficient. She told Rosco and Enos to go ahead and let Brian and Alex out of their cells. While they did that, she collected what was left of Chet's guns and whatnot and brought them outside, packing them into the outlaws saddle bags. Everything on Chet's horse, including him, was secured and MaryAnne grabbed hold of the reins, leading the horse closer to Phoenix so she could mount her ride. Rosco, Enos, Val, Brian and Alex were shuffling their way out of the jail house. MaryAnne mounted her Appaloosa and then sat in the saddle looking at everyone. "Rosco, Enos, Val...." She waved them closer. She then leaned down and whispered a course direction correction to them, along with some additional information. "Remember," she said, straightening up in the saddle again, "two miles and then you watch to make sure there's no doubling back." Rosco nodded. "Don't worry, MaryAnne." She nodded in return. "I'll see y'all back here later." MaryAnne nudged Phoenix's flanks and the Appaloosa backed up and then turned, heading down the street. The horse moved at a gentle gait, and Chet's tethered horse followed. She appeared to be heading west....but she turned Phoenix down another street and disappeared from sight of the jail house, her final destination, and direction, unknown to Brian and Alex who had been watching. (cue anyone!)

A lot of tv shows air the episodes in different order than the order in which they were produced. One of the big factors with this is "Sweeps" week. I believe with the second season, in the middle of the five eps that are missing Rosco, "Find Loretta Lynn" is in there. Rosco's there, and so is Daisy's yellow Plymouth. This episode aired during a "sweeps" week. I'd be willing to bet that subsequent seasons also had episodes aired in a different order than they were filmed, we just don't notice any obvious difference (like two different cars, ala Daisy and her Jeep/Plymouth). LOL

Now I never thought of that. LOL. Only because I always thought Enos was eating a hard boiled egg, but anyway... If it is a lemon he's eating he's been hanging on to it for awhile. The scene at Ace's lot at the end of the episode is supposed to be the next morning I believe. LOL Good catch tho'! 8)

Yes! Cully! Cully (walking into the Palomino toward Sonny): If yer still mad I can just leave and... Sonny: Aw shut up and sit down. Cully: Kinda early in the mornin' for that hard stuff ain't it? Sonny: I'm workin' out. I'm doing my left arm this morning (lifts glass), I'll get around to my right arm this afternoon. ROFL "You oughta drink more. Nothin' hurts when yer numb." -- Jocko. "Thank you very much! We'll be right back. Stick around, get drunk and be somebody! Thank ya..." -- Singer at the Palomino The fight scene at the Palomino is worth the price of admission. ROFL "Holy %*$@! A fight!!" -- Hammerhead. "It's a bird! It's a plane! It's Super Hooper!" -- Jocko (as Sonny goes flying over the upright piano) I better stop before I type all the dialog. ROFL Great film!

What do you think of the new movie from what you've heard?
MaryAnne replied to Meadowmufn's topic in Dukes of Hazzard Movies
Apparently filming is scheduled to wrap sometime in February so we may see a trailer not long after that.... 8) -
KEWL!!! Make sure ya report back to us on your experience with the filming!

I highly doubt Michael Snipe or whatever his name is of REM would want to be caught dead recording the theme from the Dukes of Hazzard. This is the same guy who considers the Beatles to be "elevator music." U2.... I've dug this band since the mid-80's but I can't see them doing the song either. Not exactly Bono's style. LOL Can't comment on Counting Crows. I think I only know one song by them and I don't know the title (Hard to Handle? Maybe this was done by the Black Crows? Gahh... LOL) Like Brian said before, WB is gonna use singers that are gonna sell the album (Kid Rock is a strong possibilty). And if Simpson is recording songs for the soundtrack.................... Anyway. ROFL However, I do agree that a very healthy dose of country music must be in this soundtrack. Preferrably a Waylon inspired type artist. For that I've got two words for ya: TRAVIS TRITT!! Ok, that's my two cents. LOL

Both patrol cars had the "Sheriff" decals on the fenders. I suppose they just had to remember where they parked....and I think Rosco's patrol car was often parked ahead of Enos's. LOL. JAmanda...welcome to HNet, but I gotta ask....is there more than one of you? Who's we???

MaryAnne could see the wound in Brian's shoulder, the darkened stain of the black material of his shirt. "Hang on cousin....hang on..." She gently took her hand away from Brian's pulse and immediately made a run for Diablo. Rosco, having secured Anderson with handcuffs, made the bounty hunter have a seat on the ground next to the patrol car. He saw MaryAnne head for Brian's Chevy so he went to the trunk of the Camaro to see for himself. Brian was unconcious but Rosco saw the slow, steady rise and fall of his cousin's chest. He was still alive.... Diablo came forward with a ready growl. MaryAnne put the car in park and stepped out of the car, coming around the front of it. "We don't have time to wait for an ambulance. Help me get him into Diablo...." She pulled the passenger door open and then turned to the trunk of the Camaro. Together, the two carefully lifted Brian out of the trunk of the Camaro. They then maneuvered to the passenger side of Diablo and the black clad cousin was placed in the car with care. "Okay," Rosco said as he closed the passenger door. "Git out of here. Go on!" MaryAnne was already half way around the front of the car. She jumped in the driver seat, put the car in gear and the Impala tore off down the road. (cue anyone!)

MaryAnne replied to Mrs. Luke Duke's topic in General Discussion
ROFL. I took the matchamker quiz and immediately on the first question I could see right through the test. I ended up being compatiable with Rosco. Imagine!! ROFLMAO!!! The trivia section needs more questions! But I scored 5 out of 5. LOL -
Hi Sam! The first five episodes of the Dukes were filmed in and around Covington Georgia. The Duke farm was actually a Civil War era cabin that had been added on to as a house, the Boar's Nest was a real cinderblock roadhouse, the town square is downtown Covington, the city of Atlanta was really the city of Atlanta. LOL After that, filming moved to California. The town square was built on a backlot of WB, and the exterior shots (the Duke farm, some of the country roads, the Boar's Nest, ect...) were filmed in various CA towns that I can't recall at the moment. (I think Brian knows this. Cousin! Can ya help?) Eventually all the filming starting around the 2nd season would take place on what is/was known as the Disney Ranch (the dirt roads, bridges, ponds, the Duke farm, ect...). Apparently part of this land has since been developed and there are now condominiums or something built there now.
