Thank ya Jax and Darrel. =) The stripe is actually three pinstripes put close together. What have I gotten it up to? LOL. Well, the speedometer only goes up to 85. (Compared to my Saturn which goes up to 110?!?!?!). I've at least made it to 85. ROFL.

Well here's an interesting coinkydink for ya. I have in my possession one of the Ertl Dukes of Hazzard car sets that I've had since I was kid. The set consists of the General Lee, Boss's Caddy, Daisy's Jeep and Rosco's patrol car. Each car is dated 1981 and were made in Hong Kong. Recently I took part in local car show and there was a dude there selling vintage gas station signs (one which read "unleaded .65" !!) and various other odds and ends. He had quite a few vintage early 80's issued matchbox cars, still in their little boxes (the boxes were water damaged but the cars were in pristine condition). In another bucket he had some other older MatchBox and HotWheels cars and while digging through that I found at least four Boss Hogg Caddy's. I bought one for the hell of it (along with a couple of the vintage MatchBox cars in the boxes). When I got home, I realized the Caddy I bought was different from the car I had for the past 20 some odd years. So I looked at the bottom of the one I just bought and compared it to the other I had had. The one I picked up at the car show said 1981 and made in the USA. I think the 1981 refers to the copyright year for WB only, and not the year the cars were manufactured, but I'd be willing to bet that the USA cars and the Hong Kong cars were manufactured in different years and I'm pretty sure I got my Ertl set sometime in 1983 or 1984. I'd be willing to bet the USA cars were issued first, probably in 1981. And you raise an interesting question: Which year/country of manufacture car is more desireable? There's noticeable differences between the two Caddy's, just as you noted the differences between your two General Lees. The USA Caddy has a different windshield and the door handles are indents on the door, whereas the Hong Kong car has them sticking outward. The USA car is a slightly different shade of white than the Hong Kong car. The steering wheels are different. Have to admit I'm certainly curious now. LOL

Cap'n, Tempest, and everyone else who's glad to be back: I second that!! =) Heck no, they can't get rid of us that easy! 8) Definetly a huge thanks to the hostingmatters folks for their tremendous help with the restore. Mufn and I are grateful that only a few days worth of posts were lost, as opposed to the entire board. Which really woulda sucked. LOL. Well we don't encourage open advertising of other sites here but we don't shut the door on sharing information with all Dukes fans. In other words, if you came here to HNet, joined the forums here and posted a message that said... HEY COME CHECK OUT MY DUKES SITE!! BETTER THAN HNET!! FREE BEER!! LOTS OF DAISY PICS!!! http ://www.mydukessiterocks.com ...we'd have to cuff ya an' stuff ya. That's a no no. LOL. That also goes for joining up and saying something like.... Hi, newbie here. I'm building my own Dukes site, not much there now but it'll have forums and movie updates and DVD stuff. And then we go and check out your site and find you swiped everything word for word including font style from Hnet. Well, we wouldn't dig that either and would have to cuff ya and stuff ya. LOL. Now for the case in point, there's nothing wrong with sharing information/site addresses in answer to a particular question or inquiry. However we prefer folks do it through the PM system if it's a link to a Dukes site that may or may not be endorsed by HNet (or they in turn may not endorse us. See what I'm getting at here? LOL). Official links such as news items from news sources (Yahoo, Reuters, CNN, ect...) , links to Dukes related products for sale (such as on amazon.com, ect.), links to Dukes references from third party sites (the photoshop pics that Doc has posted the links to), Duke themed quizes, ect. ect. are fine. If you're not sure, send a PM to the person you're replying to with the link and send the link to a moderator or admin too and we'll letcha know. In other words, we won't object unless it's objectionable. 8)

If they do release the unofficial companion with an update for the movie, I hope they correct all the glaring errors in it first. ROFL. Most notably, Daisy's yellow car is referred to as a Charger and a blue Ford Torino that made an appearance in a couple of episodes is also referred to as a Charger. More than that, the author goes on to say how there were always extra Chargers around so sometimes they would paint up one in a different color to use in an episode. Yeah right. The only....THE ONLY person who ever came to Hazzard driving the same make and model Charger was Cale Yarbourough and his white Dodge Charger testing race car. In order to help Cale get away from Boss and Rosco they painted up his car to look like General Lee and Cooter had another Charger that they painted up to look like the General. That error has bugged me from day one. LOL. But that's why it's the "unofficial" companion.

Those of you that have been asking about the avatars...I'm looking into it! I'll letcha know...

ROFL. You sound like me talking about the modern cars here in the US. BOOOORRRRRRING!!!!! LOL. There's a trend tho' for American car makers to make the cars more foriegn looking....which means they might still end up boring looking. An example, and I'm sure Tempest66 can jump in on this one being a Pontiac fanatic (as I am too), Pontiac is dropping the Grand Am model next year for a car called the G6. It looks like an Audi! And Pontiac brought back the GTO name plate but they slapped it on an Australian built platform that (in my opinion) is too boring looking of a car to be wearing the GTO name plate. Granted the thing runs like hell, has the V8, true duals (varoom varroom!) but....man, what a boring car to look at. Hopefully for '05 they'll tweak the design and give it a more aggressive look. I have to tell this, just because I'm nuts and I figure most folks here would dig this line of thought (and it does tie into the above). Along with the Dukes of Hazzard I also dig Starsky and Hutch and I got to thinking the other day.... S&H used a two-door Ford Gran Torino of the day and all they did was do a different paint job, jack up the back suspension and put different rims with oversized tires on the car. Made it look hot. (Although, according to Paul Michael Glaser the thing was crap to drive. ROFL) Anyway! I was thinking, if somebody were to make a tv show today, not necessarily an S&H type show but something that were to feature a current car of the day and do the minimum alterations like they did with the Torino, which car would be a good car to do that with? The best answer I could come up with was a Chevy Monte Carlo SS. I looked at various different cars, Dodge/Chrysler, Ford, Pontiac, ect. but the more I looked at the cars, the more complicated the changes to the cars became in my mind. I mean I was wanting to change the bumpers and front ends and make actual physical changes to the body itself! So after all that it only further reinforced my thought that modern cars are somewhat boring to look at. That was quite the babble huh? LOL. Sometimes I get a roll and I can't stop. =)

MaryAnne glanced at Alex and saw the concerned look on the blond man's face. She then looked at the rope in hand and gave a sheepish grin. "Whups...wrong bundle of rope, heh heh..." She put the bundle back in the saddle bag and pulled out a smaller stretch of rope. "Alex, I'm going to have to place you under arrest." MaryAnne leaned toward Alex and began to wrap the rope around his wrists in a set of frontier hand cuffs. "Although I said I'm apt to believe your story, you're still in posession of stolen horses and it sounds like there's a hell of a lot stuff to sort out back in Hazzard." She tightened the ropes and then settled back in her saddle and looked at Alex. He seemed disappointed. "Don't get me wrong... I'm not forgetting your voluntary surrender here, or that you've given up your guns and have told me what's going on. Believe me, that's worth a lot to me, which in turn will be worth a lot to you. But until I can get my own fix on the situation back in town, and find out what's happened to Brian, I have to do things my own certain way. I'm sure you understand..." (Cue Alex!)

"Well..." MaryAnne said thoughtfully. "That's quite a yarn you've spun. More than that I'm apt to believe ya." The young deputy sighed. "Rosco must have his hands full. Why is it when I leave town for a few days the whole place goes to heck?" she asked rhetorically. She sighed and looked at Alex. "Still tho', you're towing around stolen horses which makes you guilty of something...." MaryAnne reached into one of her saddle bags and pulled out a good sized bundle of rope. (Cue Alex!)

Rosco and MaryAnne glanced at each other and both let out a collective sigh of relief. "That is good news, good news..." Rosco said softly. MaryAnne looked at Doc. "Thank the Lord," she said. She smiled in appreciation of Chance's efforts and in relief, knowing there was a lot of responsibilty in what the doctor had undertaken. "Thank you, Doc." MaryAnne then looked at Rosco. "You and I still have work to do." She turned back to Chance. "Rosco and I are going to head back to town and try to find whoever it was that did this to Riddick. Will you keep us apprised of his condition on the CB?" (Cue Doc)

Thanks for the titles that Knoxville and Scott were in recently, Cap'n. I've heard of those movies but haven't seen any of them. (I'm a fan of older movies, thus my lack of knowledge of newer movies. LOL)

I'm guessing his schedule conflicted (isn't he doing Chicago right now?) so he probably couldn't get to the thing.....but you'd think there'd be some mention of him.

MaryAnne watched Alex carefully as he removed his gunbelt. The deputy was surprised by this move...very few outlaws had ever given up their guns so easily. MaryAnne was tough, but she was also a female, which most outlaws took as an invitation to make an easy escape. Those that tried that with her though, usually ended up on Boot Hill. Maybe this one knew it. Or sensed it. Or something. Whatever it was, MaryAnne accepted the guns and then reached into the nearest pocket of the blond man's long coat and removed another gun. With this gun in hand, she waved a hand for him to hand over the gun in the other pocket. He did. Relieved of his weapons, MaryAnne peered at him curiously. "Ain't had many folks give up their shooting irons so easily. Either you're innocent, Alex Jackson, or you've heard rumors about me that you don't care to find out if they're true or not..." (Cue Alex!)

*turns to the audience, with a hand covering side of face* And to think he gets a good giggle out of the times when I've tripped a cord around here and accidentally pulled a plug 'r something and shut the lights out.
