  5. "I'm tellin' y'all, there's some weird things goin' on around here," Cooter Davenport spoke quietly to cousins Bo and Luke Duke. The three of them were cautiously stepping toward one of the windows of the courthouse, to check on what was going on. Cooter had told them of the shooting, and seeing Razor, badly wounded, slip back into the courthouse. What bothered the town mechanic was that he saw no one else go in, or come out of the building. "Not Rosco, not Boss, not Enos, Cletus, MaryAnne...not nobody. And they all gotta be around. Maverick's still parked over in the back lot. All the patrol cars are here. Boss's Caddy is right over there...." Bo and Luke looked at each other, something prickling the nerves of both Dukes. "Heard a lot of yelling a few minutes ago too," Cooter continued. "Sounded like Chet in there, ya know how he gets sometimes...." More prickling of the nerves for Bo and Luke. Yeah, they knew.... Quietly, the three paused at one of the windows and chanced a look inside the booking room.... Meanwhile, in the downstairs cells MaryAnne had finished fixing what she could of makeshift bandages for Razor's badly wounded leg. She then looked up at Ethan standing there. The young man seemed to be at a crossroads. MaryAnne stood up and approached him. "What do you say Ethan? I make it no secret, I plan on getting myself, everyone and Razor out of here. Alive. You can either join with me, or you can stop me, by running back up stairs and tipping off Chet and Garrett." She paused, studying him. "The choice is yours..." (cue Ethan!)
  6. Rosco stood watching the ambulance until it disappeared down the road. Shay seemed to detect his unease and tension and was soon squirming to be released from the Sheriff's hold. Rosco looked at the child apologetically and turned to find MaryAnne. She came up to her cousin and he handed Shay off to her. "I'm gonna follow. Make sure everything's under control here..." he said. MaryAnne could only nod. Rosco took off for his patrol car and the Plymouth was soon spitting dirt and dust as it took off in the same direction as the ambulance. MaryAnne didn't know it, but Rosco was feeling directly responsible. And if some reason Boss didn't make it, Rosco would never forgive himself... MaryAnne turned to Kristy. "If you wanna go on ahead, I'll stay here and watch the kids with Garrett. Chance might need your help..." (cue Kristy)
  7. Ah, I wondered if there was some significance with the similarities to the Union Jack and crossing it with the Southern Cross. =) Very cool. "I gotta lil' change in mah pocket goin' jingle-ingle-ling....call you on the telephone baby. I give you a ring! But each time it's out, I get the same ol' thing. Always "No lovey, huggy, kissy, 'till I get a weddin' ring!" Mah honey mah baby, don't put mah love upon no shelf. She said, "Don't give me no lines and keep yer hands to yerself!!" Man, I remember the video for that song. LOL. Great tune!
  8. Well with two Brian's runnin' around I'm gonna call ya Chevhell... LOL Thanks for posting those up. I think a lot of folks aren't aware of the history behind the flag of the Confederacy. I seem to recall reading somewhere that the full length flag was actually used by the Confederate navy for their battle flag, while the land troops used the square flag. That sound about right? The only "blue" CSA flag I've seen is one used on the Georgia Satellites Greatest Hits CD. It's a blue back ground with a red cross and then the stars are set against a black background with the diagonal cross. Dunno if that's really a flag that was used or if they just designed that themselves to get around the political correct crap. LOL
  9. Joe Nichols! Thank you! (I eventually figured out the title of the song but couldn't get the name of the singer). LOL
  10. I'll be there! Hmmm.....now what to wear for a costume...
  11. In addition to Razor's Friday night chat on AIM, I'd like to announce a chat to be held here at the HNet chat room (Tempest66, ya out there son? LOL). General Discussion on the Dukes of Hazzard, chat begins at 8pm Eastern time and goes until whoever's left in the place. ROFL. So that's 8pm, Saturday night, HNet Chat room. Y'all come! MaryAnne
  12. MaryAnne stood at the bottom of the stairs and listened to the shouting going on upstairs. There was no doubt, they were fighting up there. It was hard to distinguish some of what they were saying but she picked up the good amount of swearing, something about not following the plan and then something about somebody...no, a she...calling the Chickasaw cops... MaryAnne paused. She looked at the two cells with everyone in them and noticed a face missing. Vicki's. "Holy...." MaryAnne said softly. MaryAnne tried to think back. They had brought Vicki down but never quite got her into the jail cell and at one point during some confusion, Vicki must have snuck back upstairs and called over to Big Ed Little.....but got caught. Given the way things were going, MaryAnne wondered where Vicki was now. If she was dead, that meant they killed one cop and probably wouldn't stop at that. Suddenly, MaryAnne heard Razor behind her. She turned and saw him working one of the bolts loose from the cell door. Boss was cheering him on albeit quietly. "Yeah, yeah! You get the bolts loose we can all get out of here!" "Oh yeah," MaryAnne said, "and when you all walk out of there and up those stairs like a bunch of volunteer fireman, Garrett, Chet and Ethan will probably blow y'all away soon as you hit that door." MaryAnne walked to Razor and kneeled down by the big cat. "Razor, although we all appreciate what your trying to do, all of us could end up getting killed. Garrett and Chet are like two packs of gun powder lit by the same fuse. They're gonna blow and when they do it ain't gonna be pretty. Ethan....I ain't sure about him, he might still be sensible enough to deal with." She looked at the tiger seriously. "There is a chance we can stop them....if you're willing to help." "Help?" Rosco exclaimed. "Why would he help us?! He was part of gettin' us all into this mess!" There was the murmurs of yeahs and uh huh's from the others in the jail cells. "Because I think Razor has realized this has all been a serious mistake." Brian snorted. "Too damn late if you ask me." "Yeah," Cletus agreed. "Should've had this change of heart before he let this thing all get this far." "That maybe true. And I'll be honest, I'm still waiting for an explanation of why for all this. But with the way Chet was acting a little while ago and with the sounds of them arguing upstairs, I have the distinct feeling that we're not going to get an explanation. Except that which comes from the wrong end of a gun." MaryAnne paused and stood up straight to look at everyone in the jail cell. "Unless you haven't noticed, Razor here's been shot full of holes by some person, or persons, who may not like the idea that Razor's still alive. Chet, Garrett and Ethan don't seem to give a hoot n' hell about it either. AND incase y'all haven't noticed, we're missing a person down here. Vicki was brought down earlier to placed in with us and somewhere along the line disappeared. One of the things I heard just now with the arguing up there is that she possibly called Sheriff Little over in Chickasaw and was caught. Who knows what Vicki's fate has become because of that." MaryAnne then turned and went over to the cabinets, ignoring the looks from the others in the cells. She retrieved some blankets and pillow cases to use to wrap Razor's busted leg and other wounds with. It was going to be good length of time before they could Razor to Doc Carney. And there was a lot to be done before then. MaryAnne brought the items back to where Razor lay on the floor. "What do you say?" she asked the tiger. "Who's side are you willing to possibly die for in this fight, Razor?" (cue Riddick/Razor)
  13. Pendragon, I raise a toast to you right now. You definetly show the strength of the human spirit and I congratulate you on your success and survival. I'm also glad to know that Hazzard, in one way or another, has been part of that survival. To life....to friends...to survival...to Hazzard.

  16. Hi Sven, welcome to HNet! Looks like Garrett answered your questions there. Yet another example of the Dukes appeal that spans the globe! Yeehaaa!
  17. This is cool. Looks like we all like A LOT of the same music.
  18. Johnny, Damn, that was a nice car. Too bad you had to sell it. Also dig the Dwight Yokam look ya got there with the hat.
  19. MaryAnne had stood pat, ice frozen when Chet pointed the gun directly at Rosco. The tension in the jail had suddenly gone up ten fold and increased with each passing moment between Chet and Daney's exchange of words. Enos, Cletus and Boss had all stood still, watching Chet. Emery had took to shaking like a leaf. Brian had moved up beside Rosco, which had shifted the course of the chess match between the two Dukes, because now Chet had only one gun but more than one target to possibly hit. Finally, when Daney did what was asked of her and Chet was released from the cuffs, MaryAnne relaxed marginally. Daney was placed in the cell and with the imminent danger pass, Rosco had turned toward the back wall, trying to regain his composure. Something about the cold touch of a gun barrel to the head was not warm and fuzzy. With the cell door shut, MaryAnne watched Chet as he stepped away from the bars. She looked into the cell at Rosco, and then glanced at Brian giving a look that said make sure he's awright 'k? She then looked at Chet again and Ethan, who had been standing at the bottom of the stairs during the whole intense stand off. Razor's voice caught her attention and she looked down at the white tiger. "Too risky?" she said. "Riddick..." she paused and then spoke gently, "Razor, listen to me, you need more than rest. You need a doctor. I got some supplies in the cabinet over there, I can probably patch ya up fairly decent....but the risk comes in how long you stay here like this." MaryAnne paused and she glanced up at Chet and Ethan who were watching her with Razor. She looked down at Razor again. "Why do you have us here like this?" she pleaded in a whisper. (cue Riddick or anyone!)
  20. MaryAnne snorted at Alex's "escort" comment. "This badge works pretty good as an escort, thankyouverymuch." "That's right!" Rosco said. "And bein' that she's got a badge, I seem to recall she hauled you in for horse theivin'..." He looked at MaryAnne. "You gonna let him go with you to find Brian? He's supposed to be in jail! He'll probably just take off like a scalded cat soon as the opportunity comes." MaryAnne looked at her cousin, looked at Alex and then held her rifle up and admired the barrel. "Well if he does that he'll be a dumb, dead scalded cat, won't he?" MaryAnne looked at Rosco and then at Alex again. "Rosco's right, you should be in jail. But seeing as you've been helpful thus far, you can come along, but remember you're still in the custody of the Hazzard Sheriff." Rosco glanced at Alex and then looked away, trying to hide his own facial expression, which bascially said "and she ain't likely to let you forget it..." (cue Alex!)
  21. *This is a joint post between Daney and MaryAnne* When they were at least a hundred feet from the store, MaryAnne slowed the Chevy and killed the headlights as they approached. She put the transmission in neutral, turned the engine off and let the car coast to the side of the road, parking it behind some thick brush. The few outside lights of the store shown the Camaro parked near the telephone and someone standing at the phone, their back facing the Coltranes. The two cousins watched for a moment and then each looked around, trying to spot Daney. "I don't see her," Rosco said. "I think she's on the otherside of the building." MaryAnne took the keys from Diablo's ingnition and opened the door. "C'mon..." Rosco followed and the two law officers moved quietly toward the store building and the backside of it. Anderson was still on the phone. He sounded agitated as he spoke, but neither Rosco nor MaryAnne could figure out what he was saying. They reached the building and followed the back wall to the side Daney's car Hunter was parked. They came up to the car and made sure Daney saw them first before either one spoke. Rosco looked through the passenger window at the young Duke woman. "I thought I told you to go home," he said. Daney shifted nervously a little in the seat. "Um, hi Rosco, MaryAnne." Daney refused to lie. "I have no excuse for disobeyin' your order." She paused. "That definitely is the fella that me and Daisy seen earlier." Hazel eyes glanced out the window toward the man. "But his buddy isn't with him." "Probably back with Brian....where ever that is," MaryAnne said, watching Anderson as he continued talking on the phone. His hand was waving to emphasize some point he was making to whoever it was on the other end. "Why don't we grab him now?" Rosco suggested. "Force him to take us to where Brian is." MaryAnne turned and looked at Rosco. "You've got to be kidding. After what them two almost did to you, you really think that dude is just gonna happily take us to his little hideout? He'll shoot us all down first." MaryAnne glanced back at Anderson, still on the phone. "No, we wait and we'll follow 'em." They didn't have to wait long. Suddenly Anderson slammed the receiver down. They heard the jingle of change as it was swallowed completely by the phone. Anderson stuck his finger in the coin return slot looking for a freebie but would walk away empty handed. "There he goes..." MaryAnne said. She handed Diablo's keys to Rosco. "Here, go get Diablo and follow us..." "What? Wait a minute--" "Rosco, just do it, we don't have to time to argue." The Camaro was heard turning over and gravel crunched as the Z-28 drove out of the parking lot. "Go on, git!" Rosco headed back to where Diablo was parked, sputtering something as he went. MaryAnne pulled Hunter's passenger door open and jumped into the car. "Follow 'em, Daney, but don't let 'em spot ya...." "Alright, MaryAnne. If you insist." Daney replied. She straightened in the seat. Hunter's engine came to life. Carefully the green Plymouth sped from the side of the building. The Camaro was about seven car lengths away when the Duster turned onto the road. The dark blue car crossed an intersection as Daney saw the reflection of another vehicle's lights in the side mirror. "MaryAnne..." "What?" Daney's hazel eyes kept focused on the road and vehicle in front of her. "Why did these men do this?" She asked very quietly. MaryAnne paused and let out a heavy sigh. "I dunno, Daney. There's a lot about Riddick we don't know but based on what we do know about him, I can only guess there's people in his past that would like to see him destroyed." "Works for me," Daney agreed with MaryAnne's summary of why the men were here. Hunter cruised along semi sandwiched between blue and black Chevys. The Camaro turned off on Storm Creek Road, and then over to Holte Road. "The way he is drivin', he's either been on these roads before. Or he is being coached by someone." Daney commented, her foot came off the accelarator for a moment. "I'm sure they had most of the county pretty well cased before they launched their attack against Riddick," MaryAnne said. She picked up Hunter's CB mike. "He just turned onto Holte Road, Rosco... I think Chance's information was correct." "Acknowledged. Tell Daney to ease back a bit. We don't want to get caught." "Ten-four..." MaryAnne gave Daney with a knowing look with a grin. "You heard the Sheriff. Khee..." Daney smiled, checked the mirror to make sure Rosco was far enough back, and tapped the brake pedal. Anderson never glanced in the Camaro's mirrors. He was focused on getting back to Fargo and their hostage. About ten minutes later, he pulled up to a building. "Pull off to the side here," MaryAnne said. Daney eased Hunter to the side of the road with Rosco pulling in behind them. The lights of the two cars were shut off and they sat in total darkness, approximately 50 feet from the building Anderson had pulled up to. After a moment, Rosco's voice came over the CB. "How you wanna work this?" MaryAnne kept her eyes on the building as she raised the mike up. "I ain't sure yet. These dudes are pretty trigger happy so I don't wanna go crashing in like gangbusters. Brian might get hurt, or one of us." "True..." Rosco paused. "Maybe we can lure them out?" MaryAnne smiled. "Cousin, that kind of thinkin' is why you're the Sheriff and I'm just a deputy. Khee!" Daney turned and looked at MaryAnne. She smiled at the pretty brunette law woman. A gleam in her hazel eyes. (cue anyone!)
