  1. I know that this is the second episode with Bo and Luke back, but after all the Coy and Vance episodes, it still feels a little odd seeing their names again. It's the same when I'm watching season 5 - I know they were the originals, but it always takes me a couple of episodes to get used to them reprising their roles.

    NASCAR news

It's interesting that you want to go back to the older layout. With F1's rescheduled 2020 season, they held a grand prix at the Mugello circuit in Italy this year. The track is owned by Ferrari, and is mainly known for hosting MotoGP races, but many fans and pundits said they'd love to see another F1 race there due to the exciting racing it gave us. As F1 chases the money, races have moved away from Europe to the Middle and Far East, which means brand new tracks in most cases. It's such an expensive sport these days, so I can see why it's been necessary, but I always prefer the traditional tracks like Spa-Francorchamps which have been hosting races for 50 years or more. BTW. Thanks for your NASCAR updates, Spike. I know I don't comment on them very often, but I do read them all.
  3. Thanks for posting the link, Spike. I didn't have time to watch it until now. It looks like you can film General Lee stunts without wrecking '69 Dodge Chargers! To make things easier, here's the video embedded:
  4. Just five days after I wrote this, Asda is back under British ownership for the first time since 1999. Walmart has sold all but a minority stake in the company to UK consortium.
  5. I saw the post already as I was the one who moderated it! In my DVD set, the last episode on disc 3 of season 4 is 'Miz Tisdale on the Lam' (my discs are double-sided). I had a quick flick through the episode, but failed the hear the "Good boy"/"Good girl" lines. I'll watch it through properly when I have time. What I did hear was when the mail inspector asks Rosco if he always rides with Flash, he replies "I didn't use to. Cletus used to, but she has a higher IQ, you see." Flash first appeared in 'Enos Strate to the Top', and was male in that episode. Flash's velvet ears first get mentioned in 'Coltrane vs. Duke', when Flash is female. Velvet Ears doesn't become a name until 'Bad Day in Hazzard'.
  6. Most of the sources I found list her birth name as Catherine Bachman, but none seem to list a middle name. If anyone has an account with ancestry.com they might be able to check the birth records.
  7. George is an in-house brand which originated at Walmart's UK subsidiary, Asda. In the UK, it's often known as "George at Asda". I think I still have a couple of pieces of George clothing myself. As far as I know, Walmart has no presence in Ireland.
  8. Roger, I think I may have figured out why your tablet stopped working.
  9. Amanda Horan Kennedy (Lorna) was the other credited Pretty Piggy contestant in 'Return of the Ridge Raiders'. Both Melanie and Amanda had to wait three seasons to return to Hazzard with bigger roles, one trying to rip off Boss and one trying to kill him!
  10. Rosco bought himself a "new secondhand used car" in 'To Catch a Duke' in season 3.
  11. Welcome to HNet, Mjoepfafr. I used to work in the sign business, but my knowledge is now nearly 20 years old, so technology may have moved on. When I used the magnetic material, it came on a roll 24" wide, and a new roll was pretty heavy. I haven't seen it any wider, although you could have it yards long. You might be able to use it for the numbers on the doors, but the roof is a different matter. As well as the size issue, I'm not sure how well the material would take to the complex curve shaped - it may be flat enough. If the material doesn't lay flush with the bodywork, air can get underneath and the wind will blow you signs off! You say that painting isn't an option, but why have you ruled out adhesive decals? Please keep us posted on your progress.
  12. It's great to hear from you again, MM, and I'm so glad it's with good news.
  13. If you're on a budget, I spotted this online during the week .
  14. Welcome to HNet, MissMausoleum. I wouldn't be an expert on this, but I can tell you that it's impossible to build an exact replica because the General changed over the seasons. For example, earlier cars had a narrower nudge bar welded to the bumper, but later cars had a wider one which attached to the frame. Side makers and back up lights can be seen on some cars but not on others. Some people like to include the decal of the crossed flags by the rear window, but that only appeared in the Georgia episodes. Engine-wise, the majority of Generals had a 383, but they also used some 318s and 440s (but no Hemis). The list goes on. Your best bet is to either pick a specific car to copy, or to combine the details you prefer. If you've been watching on Prime, you may have missed out on the DVD extras. The one below includes memories from some of the people who worked with the cars as well as a brief history of the Charger. Let us know how you get on.
  15. By coincidence, this is another case of a mistake in the credits. She was named Sue-Ann Pettigrew in the dialogue, but the credits named her character Sue Ellen.
  16. I've never noticed that before, Roger. Did you spot that Melanie Vincz (Lavinia) previously appeared as one of the Pretty Piggy contestants in Return of the Ridge Raiders?
  17. There's a pretty good replica for sale at benfordyachthat.com, but it's $249 + postage. On the plus side, it's available in 11 sizes.
  18. Hi all! My name is Romina, I am 23 years old and I'm a fan of the Dukes! Well, I wanted to know how I could change my username! I leave my MSN for you to answer me and if it can be in Spanish !! msn - -> oasismaniaca@hotmail.com Thank you! There are many HNet members who don't have English as their first language, but with Google Translate, we can now be friends with Dukes fans from around the world! Unfortunately, this was posted four years before I joined, so I never got a chance to reply. It's now fourteen years ago, so we're probably too late.
  19. I think Carson was Jessi Colter's manager, but his name is never mentioned in the dialogue. They weren't very good at crediting people in the Georgia episodes!
  20. I wasn't sure if Roger meant Ben Jones as the Chicago Federal Agent or Bill Gribble as Cooter Pettigrew.
  21. I would've thought that a castle had to have some sort of defensive element against attacks, i.e. thick walls, battlements, a moat etc. Having said that, Highclere Castle (a name on your list and the main filming location for Downton Abbey) is only a large country house, so maybe the definition gets a little stretched.
  22. I nearly included Chenonceau in my list, but omitted it because it's a château rather than a castle (to me it's more akin to a stately home). I visited Chenonceau in the late-80s, and it was certainly very picturesque. The Spencer family home: spelled Althorp, pronounced "Awltrupp" - that's the English for you!
  23. There's very little about Danone Simpson/Camden online, but I can't find anything linking her with Jessica Simpson.
  24. Danone Simpson (now known as Danone Camden) only has a handful of acting credits, although they include 98 episodes of Dallas as Kendall Chapman. According to IMDb, "She has been married to Mark Simpson since April 11, 1981. They have one child." From Jessica Simpson's IMDb bio, she's "Elder sister of Ashlee Simpson. Their parents are Joe Simpson and Tina Simpson. Joe worked as a psychologist and a Baptist minister in Texas but now manages his daughters' musical careers and their official websites. Mom, Tina, helps run her clothing empire."
  25. Thanks, Skipper, I never knew that.
