  10. I can just hear him saying that in a Rosco way. Thanks for the great pics MaryAnne. There are some wonderful lines in these shows, and the charges Andy makes up to arrest Fleet could easily have been made up by Boss to arrest the Duke boys. There were other things that reminded me of Dukes too. I could imagine Enos saying some of the deputy's lines, and the mayor is a chubby man with a white cowboy hat. The way Jim (Jimmie) eats his food in the prison cell was quite Boss-like as well. If I hadn't checked the cast list, I would never have recognized a 6 year old Ronnie Howard, or have remembered that I recognized the deputy (Don Knotts) from 'Herbie Goes to Monte Carlo'. The second episode with Jimmie is here: The Andy Griffith Show (S1E31) - "The Guitar Player Returns" Definitely recommended viewing for anyone who hasn't seen it.
  11. This must be some kind of coincidence. I was watching a TV this morning, the show I was watching finished, and I didn't get to the remote before the next show started. It turned out to be Ride Lonesome, a 1959 western (in color) starring Jimmie along with Randolph Scott, James Coburn and Lee Van Cleef. Not many Rosco traits in this one, but still good to see Jimmie 20 years before Dukes.

  14. Sorry guys, I've got a confession - this wasn't a serious suggestion, although it's been fun watching the reactions to this thread. It would be great to meet someone who also liked Dukes, and this is a good place to start, but as Roger said, PMs should do the job. Of course Roger is living proof that mixed marriages can work, ie. he's a Dukes fan, his wife isn't . In reality I'd probably be too shy to try it anyway - I prefer meeting people face to face. I think my favorite lonely heart advert (in a newspaper) was 'Lady who would never place advert seeks man who would never answer one' - I thought 'that's me - I've found a soul mate', so what else could I do - I didn't answer it .

  18. I don't think I ever seen the show, but I looked it up, and Jimmie appears in 2 episodes. The first one from 1960 is here: The Andy Griffith Show (S1E03) - "Guitar Player" I'll save it until tomorrow to watch it in full. I also noticed that Hazzard's own Doc Appleby aka. Parley Baer appears in 7 later episodes. Thanks for the tip-off.

  20. I saw Tori Amos live at the London Palladium on her 'Under the Pink' tour (I guess about 1994). The show was just her and her piano - it was great. Here's Happy Phantom if you're unfamiliar with her. A couple of other talented pianists I would recommend are Ben Folds and Bruce Hornsby: The Way It Is - Bruce Hornsby & The Range (as sampled in 2Pac's 'Changes') Almost forgot a tune that's being used on a supermarket advert in the UK at the moment: On The Rebound - Floyd Cramer
  21. Yep, Jesse thought the President might bring his family and as texasdaisy said, he only had six plates and two of them are chipped. Points to both of you. Q. In 'Route 7-11', Bo and Luke take the driving job to pay for repairs to General Lee - how much did Cooter quote them?.
