  3. Sorry Roger, everyone got the last question, so I thought I throw in a harder one. I'd have been surprised if anyone knew it - I just wanted some lucky guesses. The answer was D) July 12 1979. Q. Hal Smith, who played Henry Flatt, did a good job of staying out of Boss's way, but reappeared as Pop Durham in season 6. Which episode in season 6 did he appear?.
  4. Nice work CD. I see you even found a Maudine the mule lookalike on your travels . I'm sure you're probably a good Catholic boy who's pledged not to touch that some of stuff until you're legally allowed at 18 .
  5. Boy CD, you've got a good memory. The tunnel is seen about 7 minutes in, just after Bo and Luke get the Bugs Bunny doll. I would have thought that they had used the same tunnel as the one in 'Witness for the Persecution' (I'd guess that the piece of road they're on immediatley before the tunnel is somewhere west of Santa Clarita), but it looks like you're right - it is the tunnel in Griffith Park. The scene in 'Diamonds in the Rough' is virtually an exact copy of the scene from 'Witness for the Persecution': General Lee enters tunnel: Truck enters at the other end: General Lee makes it past the truck, through the tunnel, and out the other end: Bad guys have to reverse out the way they came in: If you look at the picture in the post above you'll see a couple of small changes: 1) There appears to be a faded white sign over the entrance. 2) There are yellow lines painted on the road. 3) The gates open outwards instead of inwards.

    One Word Song Titles

Same title, very different song. Squeeze come from just down the road from where I worked in London.
  9. Everyone's right - 'A' is Mary Jo Catlett aka. Cousin Alice. She appears in two or three episodes and even gets to wear a Hawaiian shirt - can't see Cousin Alice doing that. Since then I've also seen the M*A*S*H episodes with Rick Hurst and Bernard Fox (Iggins from 'Southern Comfurts') in. Q. In 'RIP Henry Flatt', what date did Henry Flatt die (according to his headstone)?: A) April 12 1979 May 12 1979 C) June 12 1979 D) July 12 1979 E) August 12 1979

    One Word Song Titles

It's really just an excuse to post an A/V mashup I came across recently that starts with this track. Normally mashups mix two songs together; this one mixes nine, including videos: The songs are: Isaac Hayes - Theme from Shaft John Williams - The Imperial March from Star Wars Leftfield - Phat Planet Chemical Brothers - Galvanize Sugarhill Gang - Apache (Switch Remix - A bit patchy) Fatboy Slim - Praise You Doug Wood Band - Drag Racer (BBC Snooker Theme) Daft Punk - Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger The Streets - Push things forward I'd say he was well known to people my age (or maybe a bit older) over here. Elvis Costello's cover of Charles Aznavour's song was used on the soundtrack to the movie 'Notting Hill'.
  11. Couldn't Get It Right - Climax Blues Band I also have a cover of this by Fun Lovin' Criminals, but I could only find a on YouTube.
  12. He had a beard and moustache in 'I'm Gonna Leave You Tomorrow', but not nearly on the same scale as the amount of hair he had in 'What's A Memory Like You (Doing In A Love Like This)'. Both John and Tom had facial hair in 'Christmas Comes To Willow Creek':
  13. I actually recognized quite a few. There was a good mixture of old and current IndyCar drivers as well as those from Sprint Cup. Jaques Villeneuve even drove F1 (the Montreal circuit is named after his father). Drivers don't really compete in different series concurrently over here.
  14. I Ain't Living Long Like This - Waylon Jennings Garrett, your link goes to 'I'm Gonna Leave You Tomorrow'. 'What's A Memory Like You (Doing In A Love Like This)' can be found here. Don't worry - it's not like it's a hardship having to listen to two John Schneider songs .
  15. Hi Bill, welcome to HazzardNet. Thanks for your comments on the Hazzard Square thread - it took longer than I originally planned, but I think it was worth the effort.

I'll have a look at 'RIP Henry Flatt' when I get home.

I tried to reply to your PM, but it told me you couldn't receive private messages. Maybe it's because it's your first time on HNet (a couple of other new members reported similar issues during their first log-in), or maybe you turned the option off. You can check the setting by clicking 'User CP' on the menu bar and looking at 'Edit Options'.

  16. Hi Justin, welcome to HazzardNet. Sorry I missed your post, new members' first posts don't show up until they're moderated, and then they can slip through my net . As far as I know there wasn't a 24kt gold General Lee. Supercar Collectibles made 22kt gold Generals; they did 8 clean and 8 dirty, so they're pretty rare. The last clean ones I saw on ebay went for about $1500 each, and the last dirty ones were about $1000 each. Ertl also released a gold 'Barris' edition which was 18kt gold (different color finish) - they made 100 of these so, while slightly less rare, they're still several hundred dollars. The rarest that I own is the plain black 'Authentics' version by Supercar Collectibles - this is one of 150 made (and it's not for sale). If you haven't found them already, you may find the links below of interest: Dirty 22ct Gold 1:18 General on eBay A list of 1:18 Ertl General Lees My 1:18 diecast collection
  17. dust 'Fast' is an auto-antonym, so I just picked another.
  18. Roger is back to winning ways. The boarding house was Cottonwood. After some discussion in the Hazzard Square thread we agreed it was the house on the corner next to Boss's house (opposite the other boarding house where Enos stayed). I was watching 'M*A*S*H' the other day when I saw a familiar face: Q. Which one of these nurses of the 4077th came to Hazzard?:
  19. Thanks Brian, I never knew that Pervis meant that - it's very appropriate. I shall go to bed tonight knowing that I've learned something today .
  20. TL;DR Only kidding . Thanks for an in-depth and honest review of the Hazzard Homecoming, warts and all. It sounds like you and your mama had a great time, even if it was on the expensive side. You'd think that there should be a better way to organize the queueing, but if there was, surely they'd have found it by now - it's not like this is the first time they've held an event like this. One idea they can have for free: anyone who fails to turn off their camera flash automatically gets to donate $5 to charity. It would either stop the perpetrators, or raise a heap of money for good causes . Checked out your great Facebook photos too - it must have been hot wearing that '01' mask all day .
  21. Back on page 3 of this thread I tried to identify the black car with the white roof from 'Southern Comfurts': I forgot about it until the other day when I was getting some screengrabs from 'Enos's Last Chance' and spotted the car again: These were the best pictures I could get, but they were enough to identify it as a 1960 Lincoln Continental Mark V (so I was at least one year out ). The back of the roofline looks like it dips slightly in the picture on the left, so it may be a convertible. There's one for sale on ebay at the moment for $35k. Here's what they look like from the front:
  22. I've just watched the crash again on YouTube. To be fair to Said, it looks like he held his line around the outside and Ragan moved across the front of his car (see this video from 4:35 onwards). After seeing the post-race interview it would be easy to assume that Said wrecked Ragan on purpose, but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.
  23. I was looking forward to the race, and it's a shame I only got to see 25 laps, and several of them under caution. The bit I did see was exciting. It's a pity they won't run in bad weather. When they did the car swap at WGI they had rain at the start of the session and put some wet weather tires on both cars. The F1 cars run in quite bad conditions, but they have the aerodynamic advantage of huge downforce to push them into the track - in theory the cars could drive along the ceiling!. The Biffle/Said fight seemed to get out of hand. I've seen drivers confront each other after a race, and even the odd punch thrown, but I think Boris is taking things a bit far. At least you have a race this weekend, I'm just over halfway through the three week summer break in F1 . It's probably a good idea for the employees - the factories have to shut for two weeks out of the three. It's such a high-tech sport that they'd be working around the clock otherwise. Doesn't mean that I don't miss the racing though. My next race is the weekend after next at the historic Spa-Francorchamps track in Belgium. Like WGI it also has a chicane called the 'Bus Stop' - don't know which one came first. Spa opened in 1920, WGI had it's first race in 1948, but I can't see the Bus Stop on early maps of Spa. Having said that, the original Spa track was over nine miles long and took in a couple of local villages. Due to its location in the Ardennes Forest there's normally a good chance of rain, and I'm looking forward to that .
