  1. There's an explanation from MaryAnne here.
  2. I had to get another one when I started because I used Hotmail. Now I use the new one for HNet stuff, although you can just set up another one for registration and get it to forward any mail to your Hotmail or other email account.
  3. I know you can't sign up with any Hotmail address. I don't know if they've added to the list since I signed up
  4. It logged in automatically for me tonight, albeit after a short delay. When it has made me log in it works with my usual HNet username/password.
  5. I thought it was time for a cheesy '80s power ballad : Total Eclipse of the Heart - Bonnie Tyler
  6. I've spotted a couple of WB locations this weekend over on Failblog. Both have been seen previously in grabs I've posted from 'The Dukes in Hollywood' etc. The first is from LMFAO's 'Party Rock Anthem', although someone's replaced the original song with the Cantina Band music from Star Wars in this short clip: . is approaching half a billion views in YouTube! The video was filmed on Hennesy Street. Here's a reminder of how it looked in 'The Dukes in Hollywood'. The second is a picture of a Batmobile golf cart. None of the commenters have yet realized that this was taken on Brownstone Street on Warner's backlot. The building at the end is part of New York Street. Here's how in looked in 'The Dukes in Hollywood'.
  7. The address you give is the entrance to the Lyons Ranch , also known as Valencia Oaks Movie Ranch. CDoherty has a thread about it here.
  8. I've only seen it once, but I'm going to guess that that's the one set in Ireland, so I'll go with E) People (after the 1959 movie 'Darby O'Gill and the Little People').
  9. I can't get them to show either, and I'm not sure why. The code is hidden in the post, I've converted the pictures to links:
  10. Here you go Roger - it's model #AMM964: 1969 Dodge Charger "General Lee" (Improved) To borrow from that link, the "improvements" are: 1) Improved placement and look of roof graphics. 2) Improved placement and look of door graphics. 3) Improved finish applied to Vector wheels. 4) Removed Charger & R/T emblems in grille. 5) Removed R/T emblem from taillight panel. 6) Removed Charger emblem from c-pillars. 7) Removed front and rear side marker lights. 8) Removed chrome wheel opening moldings. 9) Removed headrests. 10) Removed spare tire and jack. 11) Removed cruise control equipment under the hood. 12) 383 engine (not 426 or 440 as in past releases). 13) Removed padding/insulation detail from underside of hood. 14) Longer antenna made of a thinner material to better replicate the "whip" antenna. 15) Added primer to chassis with gloss black Mopar overspray. Idea is to hint at the General Lee's origins as a black 1969 Dodge Charger as seen in the Dukes of Hazzard "Happy Birthday General Lee" episode. Here's an Ebay search: Ebay search for Autoworld General Lee They're currently going for about $65 + P&P. I'm not sure if this is a limited release; the Ertl Authentics was limited to 5000 (I think) so they were trading for several times their original price before this one came out.
  11. Girl, You'll Be A Woman Soon - Neil Diamond This is the original from 1967, although 'Pulp Fiction' helped popularize .
  12. This is the last track from E's debut solo album 'A Man Called E', recorded a few years before his work with Eels. I apologize for the video - it's the only one I could find on the whole internet! It's a slideshow tribute for someone's Scottie dog. Don't let that spoil your enjoyment of the song.
  13. Of course Petey Willis needs a support vehicle, so here's his pickup truck. I used Uncle Jesse's truck as the basis for this one, but over 90% of it had to be recolored or modified in some way. I have to admit, it didn't look right until I added the larger wheels. In addition to the new wheels it also gets a front nudge bar, larger mirrors and a chrome roll bar. Note that the "Petey Willis" script is similar to the one on the car, but not quite the same (that would make things too easy!). I'm not sure if two separate trucks were used here, or if they just changed the rear bumper. I modeled the one on the left (because it's the same as Uncle Jesse's), but the truck also appeared with a thinner bumper complete with (unreadable) license plate.
  14. I've given all the best known vehicles their own threads, so I thought I'd start one for some of the miscellaneous vehicles. I can't promise they'll all be multiple views because they take ages. I'll kick it off with Petey Willis's 1968 Chevy Chevelle Malibu from 'Welcome Back, Bo 'n' Luke'. The hood comes complete with a Corvette L88 scoop. The sponsor stickers all seem to be for fictional companies, and reappear on race cars in other episodes. I've noticed that in many episodes there were two or more similar vehicles playing the part of one. There are two distinct "ice cream" trucks in 'Swamp Molly' and in this episode there were at least two Chevelles. For the majority of the scenes they used the one in the lower picture below, but the top one was used as they drive away. The differences I spotted are the sticker placement on the front fender, the thickness of the "55" on the door and the flared wheel arches. The wheel arch modification seems quite rare; I only found one or two pictures of similar cars when I was searching for reference photos. It also seems odd that they spent all that time on matching paint jobs and then messed up with the stickers.
  15. Here’s the shot of the “Hazzard County Fair Grounds†(“Fair Grounds†appears as two words on the sign) that CDoherty mentioned. I have to agree that the building in the background is about the size of the Boar’s Nest, and the back of the Boar’s Nest does get used in later episodes (pictures to come), but I can’t match the landscape to the location. Even back on a 1980 aerial view the area behind the Boar’s Nest was grassy and quite small. On this picture you can see a row of telegraph poles with distinctive street lights running down the side of the fairgrounds. I haven’t seen these anywhere on the ranch. I think there might be a railroad track on the other side of the fence; there’s definitely a road or track because a car and someone on a bicycle can be seen traveling past at various points. If there is a railroad it may be part of the Filmore-Saugus line that was slowly abandoned after the Santa Clara River trestle was washed out during a flood in 1976. I’ve been tracing its route on old maps and it’s easy to forget that Santa Clarita didn’t exist until 1987; before that it was Canyon Country, Newhall, Saugus and Valencia, and mostly open farmland. In the background of this picturel you can see some dark cylindrical structures on the hill. I don't remember seeing them in other episodes, and haven't found them on any aerial maps. Looking in this direction you can see one of the ubiquitous water towers above Jesse's head. I wondered if it might have been a real showground, but found nothing on Google. I think, at least for now, this location will remain “unknown†unless anyone can persuade me otherwise.
  16. I meant to post these pictures from 'The Rustlers' a couple of weeks ago, but got sidetracked with the New York Street sidewalk discussion. This is Burl Tolliver's farmhouse on Disney's Golden Oaks Ranch. Although it's no longer there, you can work out its position from the covered bridge in the background. I'm pretty sure that this field where the General speed-checked Manassas is right by Burl's farmhouse. Now to address CDoherty's suggestion that the fairgrounds were behind the Boar's Nest. Initially I went along with the idea, but now I'm not so sure. I'll let y'all decide in the next post. For now, here's a shot from near the end of the episode which shows the bad guys being apprehended by the barn that's definitely on the Golden Oaks Ranch (see a few posts back). The Boar's Nest would've been just to the right of this picture.
  17. It's virtually the same as the Ertl Authentics one that came out a couple of years ago (they're using the same die-cast molds). I think they've just tweaked the decals and the wheels and made the CB aerial longer. If you have one of the older models then this is a great improvement. There's a huge amount of details including seatbelts and opening headlights. I was going to get one, but decided it wasn't sufficiently different to my Authentics one to make it worthwhile. If only they'd bring out a '77/'78 Plymouth Fury or Dodge Monaco with the correct AeroDynic lightbar. I've never been tempted to buy the inaccurate model they pass off as a Hazzard Sheriff's car. I'm sure they could use the same mold for plenty of other police liveries.
  18. Welcome to HNet, Dixie. It's good to know that Dukes is still attracting new fans. You're probably one of the younger members here, but there are several who are only a couple of years older. I was just looking at your pictures from Cooter's - do you have any more?
  19. I think "Hatchapee County" and "Finchburg County" were Zurich BdXCn. The "Sheriff" on the Hatchapee badge was bastardized from the nearest match I could find (can't remember what is was). The "Sheriff" on the Finchburg badge and all the text on the Osage badge were done from scratch.

  20. Are we supposed to be looking at the reflection in the picture above? Here's a couple I found in season 3. In the first part of 'Carnival of Thrills' I'm sure the trunk on the 'Leap for Life' car was meant to come off when it exploded, but it comes loose as the car goes up the ramp. At the end of 'Along Came a Duke' the car chase passes through the sports field of Hazzard High School. The patrol car gets hit by a javelin, but there's a covered hole visible on the hood before impact (it shows up as an indent on the left picture). After the javelin hits it mysteriously changes color from white to mainly orange. The hole also increases greatly in size. I guess the steam-rushing-out effect wouldn't work with the original hole.
  21. I was hoping you'd give us another update. It's certainly looking a lot more finished now. I like the way you have Bo and Luke jumping into the General. What else do you plan to add? I hope there will be somewhere for the Hazzard mechanic .
  22. Hello darkness, my old friend: (Original Version from 1964)K-Duke, you don't have to post a video link (I know some people are still on slow internet connections), but it's nice if you can - this thread introduces me to all sorts of music I've never heard before. Also, don't forget that if you have any songs with single word titles, there's a thread called "One Word Song Titles" over in the "Music" section.
