  1. Here's one I spotted earlier. During the California episodes of season 1 the sign outside the Hazzard County Building lists "Axtell Bail Bonds" (this screengrab in from 'The Big Heist'). For all eight of those episodes the art director was Kirk Axtell. From season 2 onward the name was replaced with "Hogg Bail Bonds". This is from a recent post in the Signs of Hazzard thread. In 'Coy vs. Vance' the motorcycle stuntwomen are called "The Famous Flying Baxley Sisters". Paul, Craig and Gary Baxley did a lot of the stunts on Dukes. I've mentioned the last two in Hazzard Square and The Official Dukes of Hazzard Trivia Thread respectively, but I thought I'd list them here for completeness. From season 3 onward there's a store in Hazzard Square called "Skipper Ward Surplus". Skip Ward was associate producer on many episodes of Dukes. In 'How to Succeed in Hazzard' the name of the champagne that Dewey Hogg gets tricked with is "Chateau Neuf de Picard 1970". Paul Picard was executive producer on over half of the episodes of Dukes.
  2. Congratulations Carlos. As well as being a big Dukes fan, Carlos is also restoring a 1970 Dodge: Bien hecho Carlos. Un fuerte abrazo desde Irlanda.
  3. I'm pretty sure I don't have a screengrab of Allied Security - I did look. I'll let you know if I come across it in an episode.

As I said in my last message, I do not plan to post/upload any more artwork relating to the vehicles you enquired about.

  4. I don't plan to upload any other artwork for the Petey Willis vehicles, Carnival of Thrills cars or the MB Carver #44 car - what you see now is what I'm giving for free!

I'll keep an eye out for the Allied Security truck and let you know if I see it, but I've got too much else on to go looking for it.

  5. I don't have any plans to do any vans at the moment. Their signage was mostly something similar to Arial. What other vehicle decals are you talking about?

  6. Computers are strange things. Here's a story that I originally heard about 20 years ago (there are variations with plumbers etc.): One morning a business owner discovers that their server is broken. It won’t boot up, won’t turn on. He calls a computer technician to come out and see what he can do. The expert shows up, looks at the machine carefully for a few minutes, and even gives it a careful listen. He runs his fingers lightly on the side of the computer, and then taps it with a small hammer. The computer starts right up, the business owner is happy, and the expert goes away. Two days later, the expert’s bill shows up. “Computer repair, $500,†it says. Angrily the business owner calls up the expert. “$500?! All you did was tap the computer, and you charged me $500?! I want you to send me an itemized version of your bill, to see why you thought that was worth $500.†Two days later, the new bill arrives in the mail. “Tapping the computer with a hammer, $1. Knowing where to tap it, $499.â€
  7. It wasn't a really bad wreck. Bobby finished on the lead lap in 26th, and Joey completed 12 laps after the crash. Only Matt had to retire due to damage and an impressive fire. When he came to a standstill he calmly climbed out, took off his gloves and helmet and reached back into his burning car to get his cap! There's a video of the crash .
  8. You may be pleased to hear that Jeff Gordon had a pretty strong race and spent quite a few laps in second behind Jimmie Johnson. Unfortunately he dropped a couple of places in the last pit stop and got on the outside at the restart. I think he dropped down to eighth before fighting back to finish fifth - he was fastest on the final lap. Aside from that it was fairly uneventful - there were only five cautions, and the most serious was the final one involving Joey Logano, Matt Kenseth and Bobby Labonte. For Roger, David Ragan was the last car on the lead lap and finished 28th.
  9. Season 2, episode 21.
  10. I have no idea who is accusing you, or what they are accusing you of. Your last post in the What If Cars thread seemed to imply that you had been banned and that it involved me somehow. I do not appreciate being implicated in this way, especially when you haven't even been banned. I don't know who posted the warnings on your page, but they are under your name and not from any of the moderators or any other member.

Maybe in the future you might consider originating your own artwork rather than reposting mine with minor changes. That way no one (it wasn't me) can accuse you of stealing. I plan to carry on doing Dukes related artwork for fun, and post it when I feel like it. When I do post another car outline I don't want to see a dozen variations reposted with every police livery on them - it's not a good way to repay me for the tens of hours I have spent working on your requests.

  11. Amissville, VA. For full details, check out Cooter's Place: Hazzard Homecoming - Cooter's Place
  12. While I was getting screengrabs of Hazzard High School for the Hazzard Square thread recently I spotted this blooper. In all the location shots the second athlete who lands in Boss's car has red and blue striped socks, but in the studio shot they are red and gray. In the studio shot you can also see some sort of static frame in the top right corner proving that the car is stationary.
  13. I'll see what the mods want to do - maybe leave a few with a link.

  14. That was quite an episode when Mario Andretti, Evel Knievel and Woody Allen turned up in Hazzard driving Chitty Chitty Bang Bang . Is it just me, or does Uncle Jesse look a bit more like Charlie Daniels than usual? Nice pics - glad you enjoyed yourself.
  15. I've just posted some pictures of Hazzard High School in the Hazzard Square thread, but I didn't notice any mascots - then again, I was looking at the buildings. The landing mats just have "H.H.S." on them.

    Baseball

I like this new trivia thread. I've correctly guessed the last two questions even though I know nothing about baseball .
  17. Sorry to hear that, Roger. A dead computer indicates a hardware problem. The (in)famous "Blue Screen Of Death" (BSOD) is the result of Windows crashing, and therefore a software fault. Having said that, Windows may have crashed because of a hardware fault - faulty memory and overheating chips can cause all sorts of issues. I'll try to cheer you up with some relevant haiku poems. They were part of a fake story that a Japanese company had replaced Microsoft's error messages: Windows XP crashed. I am the Blue Screen of Death. No one hears your screams. Yesterday it worked. Today it is not working. Windows is like that. A crash reduces your expensive computer to a simple stone.
  18. Here's the promised picture of the Friends fountain when it appeared in Dukes. You can see the school building on the left. The Small Soldiers house was built just behind where the blue landing mat is here. The pool that's visible on the aerial shots was hidden by the bushes and seating on the right. I thought I'd include a picture of "1162" from 'Bewitched'. You can see that it already had its stone cladding when it appeared in the episode 'George, the Warlock' (S01E30). You may also spot these buildings in other popular shows of '60s and '70s like 'The Donna Reed Show', 'I Dream of Jeannie' and 'The Monkees'. The stone cladding had gone from "1162" before it became the "Lethal Weapon House" in 1987. It even had a new garage built at the side. The first shot below is from 'Lethal Weapon 2', and clearly shows the school/civic building was still in existence into 1989. The second shot shows that it had been replaced by 1992's 'Lethal Weapon 3'. Two houses replaced the school/civic building, and have been used and restyled many times eg. for 'American Beauty'. The first on-screen appearance of the blue house that's just visible in the previous picture was as the Griswolds' house in 'Christmas Vacation' (1989). The first picture below shows Clark (Chevy Chase) trying to get the Christmas lights working. I'm pretty sure that the tree on the left is the one I told you to remember two posts back. The second picture shows "1162", home to the Griswolds' unfortunate neighbors. Now painted blue, it no longer has its window shutters. The boy at the tailgate is a young Johnny Galecki (aka. Leonard Hofstadter from 'The Big Bang Theory'), who plays Russell 'Rusty' Griswold.
  19. This is the view to the right of the school building. Initially I thought the house may have been part of a campus. That was before I realized how famous this street was. While we're on this picture, remember the tree above Boss's trunk. I've had to tweak the colors in this picture because the smoke was obscuring the building. It shows the right side of the house in the previous picture. It was this house that led me to discovering the location of Hazzard High School (see below). I found information for one of my recent posts while looking for the location of the school, so it seems appropriate that I found the school while looking for pictures of Laramie Street (see above). During a Google search I recognized a picture of the house above. It led me to this site which specializes in information about TV studios and ranches around Hollywood in the 1950s to 1970s. Click on the link, scroll down a bit and you'll get to the Columbia Ranch, now known as the Warner Ranch. It's located a few blocks north of Warner's main studios in Burbank. Considering its location it may seem odd to refer to it as a ranch, but if you look at the 1935 aerial photo on this site you'll see that when it opened in 1934 it was surrounded by fields. Over the years they made fewer Westerns on the ranch as the horizon became filled with houses. Eventually the Western sets went the same way a Laramie Street. Take a look at the next post and I'm sure you'll have watched something that was filmed there. Here's a close-up, looking south to show the houses better. If you look at this site you'll see that this part of the ranch is known as "Blondie Street" because it was used to film 'Blondie', the serial based on the cartoon strip 'Blondie Bumstead', in the 1930s. The site also has pictures from several other movies/TV shows that I'll mention below. The school building was originally built as the Deeds Mansion for the 1936 movie 'Mr. Deeds Goes to Town' (remade as the 2002 Adam Sandler/Winona Ryder comedy 'Mr. Deeds'). Later it appeared in serials like 'The Three Stooges', 'Batman' and 'Superman'. During the '60s it became a high school for 'Gidget' (I have to confess I've never heard of 'Gidget', but Sally Field was looking good in the clips I found on YouTube), and later 'The Partridge Family'. It was demolished in 1989 (see below), hence the "Site of" prefix on the aerial view. I've labeled the house next door as "1162" for reasons that will become apparent. This was the house I recognized in my Google search. It was also built in 1936 and appeared in the serials listed above as well as 'Hazel' (sorry, don't know this one either), 'Father Knows Best', 'Dennis the Menace' and many more. I really should've recognized the house earlier because it featured in all four 'Lethal Weapon' movies as the home of the Murtaughs (what can I say, "I'm too old for this ..." - I'll leave y'all to finish the quote!) - see more below. At the top is "1164". It's just out of sight in Dukes, but I thought I'd mention it as it's possibly the most famous house on the street. Between 1964 and 1972 it was '1164 Morning Glory Circle', home of Darrin and Samantha Stephens in 'Bewitched'. The school building was used as the Civic Building in 'Bewitched', hence the label in the picture above. The building seen in the background of the high jumper shot (above) is on the right side of the aerial picture. It's part of a Bostonian-style city street ('Park Blvd'), which is why it looked out-of-place in California. The sports field was roughly in the center of the aerial picture, where the house with the green roof is now. The ranch was used to film the TV spin-off of 'Private Benjamin' (sorry, I didn't know there was one until last week) around the time of Dukes, so maybe the sports field was from when the green was dressed as part of an army base. The green-roofed house featured in the 1998 movies 'Small Soldiers' and 'Pleasantville'. The fountain (see additional Dukes picture below) will be familiar to anyone who's a fan of 'Friends'. It can be seen at the . You can see more photos of the Small Soldiers house, Park Blvd and the fountain here.
  20. I'm revisiting a previous post today, specifically the last picture in post #40. Hazzard High School was only seen at the end of 'Along Came a Duke', and I could never work out where it was. Here's some pictures to remind y'all how it looked. I'll start with the sign. Looking at it again, the joins in the brickwork should've been a clue! This picture shows the left side school building and some of the sports field. Here's the center and right of the school building. A different angle shows a taller building on the right. I thought this would be easy to spot due to its unusual architecture, but never managed to find any buildings that were even close. In hindsight, that should've been another clue. Somehow this high jumper landed in the back of Boss's car.
  21. I can't remember if it was near Choctaw Trail, but I remember a map showing Morgan's Airfield, so I'll agree with K-Duke and BL.
  22. I missed the introduction because the "Firefox users click here" button on dublincityfm.ie didn't work for me, so I had to make a quick move to IE. I have to say that I was very impressed. Anita's obviously a very open and down-to-earth person, which helps in an interview, but the questions seemed well researched and topic changes were very slick. It sounds like she and her brothers are genuine Dukes fans. Are there any plans to make the interview available online?

    NASCAR news

It's not only NASCAR that's catching people; there were nine track and field athletes who failed drugs tests before the Olympics this week. Eight of them got two year suspensions, and the other got a four year suspension because she'd been caught before. Until earlier this year the British Olympic Association used to hand out lifetime bans from the Olympics to any British athlete failing a test. Greece has also sent home one of their athletes for making a racist tweet.

    NASCAR news

I know very little about AJ Allmendinger, so I come to this case with no preconceptions. Mention of the Road to Recovery program suggests that he has some kind of drug problem, yet NASCAR won't even reveal what stimulant was found in his samples, so we don't know what he's being accused of. Sports figures have to be really careful these days because there's a huge list over-the-counter medicines that contain substances that are prohibited in various sports. I've heard of athletes failing drugs tests due to accidently using the wrong flu remedy. I also remember a case of a sports star testing positive for cannabis, which is hardly a performance enhancing drug. If this was an accident or an oversight then AJ will have to challenge his suspension in court. If it turns out that he took the drugs deliberately, there are plenty of other drivers to take his place.
  25. I found something similar on Ebay and grabbed the pictures before they disappear. It looks like they just changed the date each year. From the Ebay description: This one was owned by actor Mike Genovese who played "Nervous Norman Willis" in "Close Call For Daisy". It sold for $199 at the start of June this year. You can read a short article about it here.
