NEVER meanin' no harm.

There was more than one Clyde in the show, but you're probably talking about Clyde the impound yard guard played by Ernie Lively in 'The Ransom of Hazzard County'. Ernie appeared in five episodes, and was the real life FATHER of Jason Lively, who appeared in two episodes.

Can you help, looking for a specific episode

That's what we're here for. BTW. Your first three posts are moderated, so only one more until you can post freely (although I'll still be making sure you don't post anything inappropriate!). -

HossC replied to bodukegirly's topic in Dukes of Hazzard Episodes
Welcome to HNet, bodukegirly. The episode you're talking about is 'Pin the Tail on the Dukes' in season 4. The scene is just over half an hour in, and goes like this: Waylon: Along about this time, a truck was heading through Hazzard for the first time. That driver didn't have a clue about Hazzard's driving conditions. Bo: Hang on, Hector. Here we go again. (They swerve the first truck) Luke: Phew! That was close. Bo: Bo Duke, you are too much. (Luke spots the second truck) Luke: Bo. Bo: What? Luke: Bo! Bo: Oh, my gosh. Hang on. Waylon: I'm hanging. (They swerve the second truck) Luke: How do you do that twice? Bo: There's only two trucks in Hazzard, right? -
Armor In your discussion above, I think you guys are mixing up DEI meanings. It means both Diversity, Equity & Inclusion and Dale Earnhardt, Inc.

HossC replied to Skipper Duke's topic in Dukes of Hazzard General Discussion
Skipper, you need to ease off with the quotes again. This is not Facebook, it's an interactive forum, and there's very little chance for interaction when you make seven lengthy posts one after the other in a 15 minute period. I've said it before, but I obviously need to repeat it: quotes should be just that - quotes - whether they're memorable or funny. Some of these are entire scenes that don't strike me as either. If you're going to post quotes, stick to simple ones like the one with Rosco and his crossword. Your accuracy has gone up a bit, but you're still missing words here and there, and mishearing words, e.g. in 'Repo Men' Boss says "namely me, can be cursed, sassed, and crossed" , not "Namely me can be cut sassed an' crossed!". In your last quote (the one from 'Coy Meets Girl'), you omitted nearly 40 seconds of dialogue between Boss and Rosco in the middle of the scene without mentioning it. If you want guidelines for quotes, look at the ones posted on IMDb. Not many are more than a few lines long. Also, stick to short names preceding the dialogue: "Boss" or "Boss Hogg" is fine, you don't need "Boss Jefferson Davis Hogg". Maybe you're copying them from different sources. If it's a guest character, use their full name on their first line, and then shorten it. -

I think it's still possible that Andretti Cadillac could enter F1 in 2026. There are some upcoming rule changes that come into effect for that season, so F1 was dubious that they could develop a car for the 2025 regulations and then a new car for 2026.

Unusually, we were still up at midnight last night, so we went for a little spin away from the city lights. The sky wasn't as clear as Friday, and the moon was partly hidden by clouds, but plenty of stars were visible. Sadly, if the northern lights were out here last night, we didn't get to see them. It sounds like we might have been too early.

They mentioned the northern lights on the radio yesterday, but I promptly forgot as I thought it was unlikely we see anything as far south as we are. My friend's son proved me wrong with some beautiful pictures taken only a few miles away. Maybe tonight if I'm still awake, but it's clouding in now.

It could happen. Last week's race winner, Lando Norris, drives for McLaren, and their racing colors are papaya orange and black. Although drivers keep their race numbers, the champion from the previous season has the option to use the number 1. It currently looks like Max Verspappen will win again this year, but you never know what the future holds...

All the live F1 races are available through the same provider over here, so at least you only need one subscription.

Sounds like a good day. I still look forward to the Monaco Grand Prix (May 26th this year, BTW) even though it's rarely a very exciting race these days. It must be the historic setting.

That's interesting. F1 has been owned/run by American company Liberty Media for a few years now and they've been actively trying to increase its popularity in the US. They briefly tried a couple NASCAR-like gimmicks (such as crank up the volume while we listen to the engines), but they quickly realized that F1 viewers didn't want that. Also, there are now three races in the US as well as a race each in Canada and Mexico, so more people can now get to see it. What are your viewing options for F1 in the US? Is it all subscription based? There are a couple of pay options over here, but I either wait for the free highlights show (so long as it's on at a reasonable hour) or catch up on F1's YouTube channel. The British Grand Prix is a protected event that has to be shown live for free.

He came to F1 really young, and I could see how talented he was, but his first world title should've gone to Lewis Hamilton if the officials had followed the rules correctly. Since then he's made a few questionable moves on the track. So, while I can acknowledge his skill as a driver, I'm not a fan.

Max's Red Bull team have dominated F1 since new rules were introduced a couple of years ago. Their car was better at the start of that first season with the new rules, and they've been a step ahead of the competition ever since. Last year Max won all but three races, and his team mate Sergio Perez won two of the others (Carlos Sainz Jr of Ferrari was the only non-Red Bull driver to win a race last year). The fact that Max nearly always beats Sergio in an identical car shows that he's a very talented driver. In 2023. Max won the championship with 575 points. Sergio was second with 285! Red Bull's recent cars were designed by Adrian Newey, who is widely regarded as the best designer in the sport for many years. Just over a week ago he announced that he was leaving Red Bull due to internal issues. Rumor has it that he'll go to Ferrari, which is where Lewis Hamilton is heading next year after driving Mercedes-powered cars for his entire career.

The Official Dukes of Hazzard Trivia Thread
HossC replied to Meadowmufn's topic in Dukes of Hazzard Trivia
Certain character combinations are automatically converted to emojis to save you having to go to the emoji button and add them in. I find it quite useful, but because the close bracket ')' character is used for a lot of the smiling emojis, it cuts down your options, especially with lists. You'd have a similar problem when you got to D. Going forward, you could either use lowercase letters, i.e. a), b), c) etc., or you could put a space in between, i.e. A ), B ), C ).- 3,820 replies
