  1. Here's my current ride. I really like the dodge although my husband had a laugh when I told him I wanted to paint it orange with an 01 on the doors. My family has always had classic cars. My first car was a 1968 Pontiac, my older sister had a 1970 Monte Carlo, both had 350's in them. My parents have two oldsmobile super sport convertables. One is a yellow 68 and the other is a dark green 69. This is as close a picture of it as I could find. I loved that car but I had to sell it. The guy I sold it too totally restored it so I"m glad he got it.
  2. I'm wondering if you and I don't come from the same hometown. We always had antique cars in all the parades in Lake County. In fact, the car that we always got dropped of at school in was a 1940 Chevy Grand Master Deluxe. Great car.
  3. I like the fine print on the first sign. I think that makes it obvious it's a sign from Hazzard County. Bridges being out apparently don't matter.
  4. :rofl:OMGosh! I absolutely love it, love it, love it! That has to be the best lawnmower around. It would be great if craftsman actually made an orange lawnmower with an O1 on it.
  5. I am a Jewel fan and I think she'll do well in the country music setting, and for that matter so will Jessica Simpson (dodges rotten tomatoes) but I don't really care for Jewel's song 'I do.' Don't know why really, it just isn't one that I like to listen to. As far as songs that reflect the Duke Boys, I'm going with the Zac Brown Band and their song, "I like my chicken fried."
  6. I would have to vote for the song "I like my chicken fried" by the Zac Brown Band. As for words? My dad used 'dagnabbit' an awful lot, though I doubt it will come up in the dictionary anywhere.
  7. I got the first part of my name for the fact that I paint/draw and all sorts of other creative stuff, hence....Arty. The 'kidd' part comes in because I've been told that I don't look my age See, that's me and my neice. Do I look like I'm 35?
  8. Being the artist, I just had to go for the jump over The Scream by Edvard Munch. I would have chosen the Mona Lisa but da Vinci was actually known to have a sense of humor. Munch was just twisted so I know he's gotta be rollin over in his grave on this one.
  9. So I heard this song by the Zac Brown Band for the first time last week and immediately fell in love with it. If there ever was another song that would emmulate the Duke boys, this would be it. You know I like my chicken fried Cold beer on a Friday night A pair of jeans that fit just right And the radio up Well I was raised up beneath the shade of a Georgia pine And that`s home you know Sweet tea pecan pie and homemade wine Where the peaches grow And my house it`s not much to talk about But it`s filled with love that`s grown in southern ground And a little bit of chicken fried Cold beer on a Friday night A pair of jeans that fit just right And the radio up Well I`ve seen the sunrise See the love in my woman`s eyes Feel the touch of a precious child And know a mother`s love Well its funny how it`s the little things in life that mean the most Not where you live or the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes There`s no dollar sign on a piece of mind this I`ve come to know So if you agree have a drink with me Raise you glasses for a toast To a little bit of chicken fried Cold beer on a Friday night A pair of jeans that fit just right And the radio up Well I`ve seen the sunrise See the love in my woman`s eyes Feel the touch of a precious child And know a mother`s love I thank god for my life And for the stars and stripes May freedom forever fly, let it ring. Salute the ones who died The ones that give their lives so we don`t have to sacrifice All the things we love Like our chicken fried Cold beer on a Friday night A pair of jeans that fit just right And the radio up Well I`ve seen the sunrise See the love in my woman`s eyes Feel the touch of a precious child And know a mother`s love
  10. Heh, believe it or not, somewhere in my parents house is a photo of me sitting with Roy Rogers and Dale Evans. I even met there little group of troubadors, The Sons of the Pioneers. Thanks to my folks, I led and interesting life as a child.
  11. Thanks Laura. It's a photo I took of a local honey bee farm here in Callahan. Arty
  12. So we've been sitting in the house for two days straight. On Wednesday my husband worked and I drove around grabbing supplies like canned goods, water, dog food, and extra gas. ON thursday it hit and we've been stuck inside since. Have you people any idea just how bored I am. I've already been outside just to look around and see what's been going on. The swamp back behind grandma mc kendree is almost up to her door. I"m thinking I'm going to be taking lots of pictures, especially since the folks up the street lost a pecan tree. Sad too, that tree always put out alot of nuts.
  13. That is the most irritating yet addictive game I have come across. I made it to 25 before I gave up.
  14. I don't know how creative you want to call it. I like the song but it's mainly because of the use of the Lynard Skynard song. It's the beat that I enjoy. If this were my only exposure to Kidd Rock, then I would say a definite 'no' on the creative side but I have heard more of his stuff so he does have a bit of talent. But honestly, borrowing so generously from 'Sweet Home Alabama' is a bit like painting moustache on the Mona Lisa and calling it an original work as well.
  15. Honest to God MaryAnne. All I saw was the little box at the top with the 'do not use avatar' thingie that I can't seem to deselect. Is there anyway someone could post an avatar for me? Okay, nevermind any of that stuff up there. I had something disabled on my lappie and now it's fixed. See my avatar? Isn't it preeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeety?
  16. I actually met James Best once when I was a kid. He was a really nice man and Sonny Shroyer is as well. He came into Walt's BarBQue in Palatka once. Nice guy. I met Waylon Jennings while on a youth trip to Gatlinburg. We (me and dad) were in this pancake house and it was full, no empty tables. Waylong jennings and his family were waiting on a table so we said they could sit with us since we were almost done. We finished our pancakes told them to have a nice day and headed out. Honestly, I have to laugh about having things in common with the Dukes. My last name is 'Lee' and my husband shares the same family tree as the famous General.
  17. Okay, I followed the directions but I don't even see a "use custom avatar" option. In fact, I can't even de-select the do not use avatar button. I've gettin seriously frustrated here.
  18. How the heck does a body post an avatar on the profile?

  19. What do I do? I paint. I paint pictures of photos I"ve taken or whatever comes to mind. And, just to keep things intersting, I teach drawing and painting at a local high school. I've got more, I'll post 'em later.
