I'm 35 and my husband is 57. We did find a station out of Brunswick that plays a good mix of some of the older songs and newer ones. AND, the DJ's don't talk all that much so that is a bonus.
-
Send me a sticker Roger. You know what's sad? My husband called into a radio station to request some Charlie Pride and two things happened. The DJ said "who?" and then went to go and find a song by him only to come back and tell us they didn't carry Charlie Pride. It was a disappointing day in the Lee household

I read through both pages and everyone has some really good opinions. And, as it was said before, we don't know what is going through the man's life and why he would have such a small amount of cannibus on him. Heck, for all we know, the man could have cataracts and the weed is helping. But, a small amount of pot is still pot and is still legal. Did the press have the right to print what they did? Absolutely, it's how they make their living whether we like it or not. And unfortunately, the paparazzi are the necessary evil to the field of journalism. If they weren't allowed to print the trivial and sometimes downright trashy bits that they do, then the real journalists would be restricted in what they could do. Speaking as someone who watched a loved one go through drugs and drinking and almost die from it, if Tom is addicted to alcohol and drugs, he's gonna lead love, prayers, and some privacy.

He'd take one sip, get a little bit of false courage and finally ask daisy out. At which point he'd be too hung over to go anywhere or do anything. If you gave uncle Jesse an IPOD........

Nice bike Natey57. Very nice Hate to see that you have to get rid of it.

Assuming that they were high heels, she'd walk up and down the boar's nest in them asking all the guys what they thought of her new shoes. At which point, all the men would be so entranced with Daisy's foot on their table that she'd make over $600 in tips. If you gave Cooter a book on quantum physics..........

This a fun little game I played when I hung out at another website. It's basically played like the book "if you give a mouse a muffin" reads. For example, I might start with If you give Bo a calculator....... Then the next person would finish it up with something weird, humorous, etc and then start a new bit. You can use any character in the series. Ready? Here goes........ IF you give Roscoe a $100...........

I think "Red Neck Yacht Club" also brings up connotations and visions of the Dukes. While I don't ever remember seeing a house boat anywhere on the farm or in the yard, the verse of passing around a jar and a guitar definitly says Duke.
-
After I looked at the clock and realized how much time I spent just trying to get to number 25, I forbade myself to play it any longer. I've done well so far.

Jam (like toe jam....get it?)

I like Holler Back also but the music video sucks. BIG TIME. Just the guys singing infront of a building/office park? How about some 'city slickers' running down an alley, trying to keep from being mugged (or maybe some idiots trying to act like a really tough crew who get trapped in an alley) and they fall through the brick wall into a camp area with bon fires, marshmallows and get led on a snipe hunt. Now that would be funny.

Jerry Reed - Smokey & The Bandit - Passes Away
artykidd replied to Capt_Redneck's topic in General Discussion
I share your grief. I really enjoyed watching Jerry Reed on the big screen but I think I enjoyed his singing and guitar playing even more. The world has lost a great entertainer and there will never be another like him ever again.
