  1. Here are a few sites that I hope help. Asperbergers Syndrome is actually a mild form of autism. Children can communicate but in a very limited way. The only thing I can suggest is lots and lots of research. WebMD is a good place to start looking. 2. Julie, All I can tell you is to take this as a learning experience. Unfortuanately,no matter where we go or where we choose to live, work, etc, there are going to be people we don't get along with or who, for some reason, seem to have woken up with a lemon in their mouth. Take this as a chance to perfect your people skills or even to reevaluate where you work. Maybe there is somehthing better out there for you. If it's a situation that you just can't stand, then it's time to put some feelers out for a new job. Otherwise, step back and take an objective look at where you are and what you are doing, along with your boss. Try to have an honest conversation with him/her and explain how you feel and what you think some acceptable solutions might be. If that doesn't work, start looking. I found out I'm on crutches for another week at least. *sigh* there goes the brown belt test. This sucks.
  3. You're spot on General. In vehicles, a universal joint allows drive shafts to move up and down as a vehicle passes over bumps. Now what's a drive shaft you ask? It sends power created by the engine to a central transmission which allows the wheels to move. What you should do is go to an auto parts store and ask for a book on your particular vehicle. Chilton is one of the more recognized guides and breaks things down for your. If you are not going to use your vehicle for long periods of time, your really shouldn't let it sit. You should crank the engine and let it run for several minutes every few days. This keeps sedatives or impurities in the fluids of your engine from settling and building up. it also keeps fluids from leaking out which could be very harmful to the engine if you try to start it up after a long period.
  4. Not exactly a fight per say, but still and awesome move by Luke
  5. Bless your heart (or little heart) A term of endearment used by southerners when they see someone they like or are speaking of someone sweetly. Most of the time the phrase is followed by something not so sweet. i.e. "Bless her heart she's such a sweet little lady but she jus' can't cook worth a dern."
  6. Poor kid. I really have to wonder about her. I think I could spend years just observing her 'cause I really wonder if she is that 'dumb' or if she is really intelligent but just no common sense. You know, like Einstein. He had to have someone tie his shoes and button his shirts.
  7. Today is..... National Bologna Day (Fried Bologna Sandwich anyone?) For those of you who like to be pincushions, it's also National Acupuncture Day For Parents and Students it's National School Bus Safety Week. Tomorrow, October 25th is..... National Zombie Day:-o Pit Bull Awareness Day National Make a Difference Day (a day to help someone in need:D) Pick one an celebrate people!
  8. Glad to hear most everyone's day's are going well, although the weather seems a bit chilly for most. General, i hope you saw something. Redneck Girl, you sound like you had a full day of school and Val I do hope your dad's knee is okay. My husband went through therapy for his knee. It's no picnic that's for certain. Dixie.......I do wonder and Julie, I hope work goes better for you next time. I had a pretty good week. I did manage to trip over a parking stop at school and ended up smacking the top of my left foot on the cement curb. I got sent to the doctor's by the principal and they took some x-rays. No breaks but a severe contusion (translation: really bad bruise). Needless to say, my kids have really stepped up to the plate on helping me out around the classroom and have tried their best to make my day go easy. Although, I do seem to keep tripping from the darn crutches and smacking my bad foot. Not pleasant. But I'm thankful that I only have to be on the crutches for another week and then I can go back to having a normal routine, including a return to karate. Hope everyone has a great weekend and I'll check back in to see how ya'll are doing.
  9. "there's a tear in my beer 'Cause I'm crying for ya' dear" I really like some of Hank Jr.'s songs. I can just see one of the boys or poor old Cooter in the corner of the Boar's Nest nursing a broken heart.
  10. Seriously, How was your day? Good? Bad? or just normal? Give us a recap. It could be theraputic and hey, if you had a good day.....Share the good news.
  11. October 21st is National Mamography Day. The good news is, the numbers in deaths due to breast cancer is dropping. Let's keep it going down. And men, don't ignore this message, there are cases where men get breast cancer. So, if you notice any abnormalities, no matter how small, get to the doctor and get it checked.
  12. Beautiful Baby Boy Cap'n I had to chuckle, your Bailey looks like my Shotgun and you look like a younger version of my husband. He's got the goatee, glasses and shaved head. You have about the same facial structure as him too.
  13. I watch: The First 48 (reality show about homicide detectives) Project Runway Law and Order (cough) Ninja Turtles (cough)
  14. Thanks for the compliment Laura but I ain't all that smart. I should've typed "federal" not "state" law. By the way, 2.5 grams or less is a misdemeanor in the state of Florida and I would have to assume that most states stay pretty close to each other on that one. Misdemeanors are taken care of with a simple fine and sometimes a brief court appearance (if there is a history of possesion).
  15. I haven't made up my mind yet. I like "Love Don't Live Here Anymore" but I'm not fond of "Looking for a Good Time." I think it's the change in the tune when the guy is singing and then he's harmonizing with the girl. It's too much of a switch for me so I tend to change the station when they come on. I'm waiting to hear more from them before I make my decision.
  16. Here's me when I chaperoned at Prom last year and a photo of me with my neice.
  17. What about adding 'dagnabbit' to the list or 'idgit' (another form of idiot)?
  18. Glad to hear you guys like this song. Jessi, don't sweat it. We're not all going to like the same stuff around here. But hey, at least you gave it a shot and listened to it once.
  19. Since it happened in an airport, state laws, not local apply. In that respect, most states go by weight when deciding on the route to take. 1.2 grams isn't even enough to smoke so it's considered a misdemeanor and only a citation is issued. If the person can pay the fine on the spot, they are allowed to. Since airports have their own little police stations, you can pay fines immediately and have them taken care of, of course paying the fine then and there means you take a guilty plea and it goes on your record. Hope this answers some questions.
