*"Yee Haa!" Bo lets out an excited yell at Cooter's news only for the throbbing in his head to scream back at him in pain and to recieve a stern look from Jesse. "Sorry Uncle Jesse," Bo wobbles over to a big rock and sits back down on it to rest, "but after hearing Luke and Daisy are coming back, well, I couldn't help myself." Bo goes silent, thinking of his argument with Luke, silently wondering if he'll be back on talking terms when they return home. "As for all of this," Bo motions around them, hinting upon what Jesse was talking about before he went on the walkie talkie, "As long as you are sure he won't eat us tonight, I'm more than willing to help out in any way I can. Even if it includes a sleepless night in the swamp." Bo swallows hard at the last thought. He would rather come back and stop the monster come day light, but he wasn't about to be the one to coward out of it for the night. Especially when he felt he had a score to settle with the beast. "How you plan on stopping the beast before it hurts anyone else? And without it hurting us in the process? I don't see it just walking in a cage and letting us lock him away for eternity. . .and you seem reluctant upon shooting it with your shot gun. What else you thinkin' of doing?" He turns and watches his uncle in anticipation of his answer.*

I believe you said at one time that your expert believes that NASCAR is fixed...which I have heard other places as well. I have wondered that before, but am satisified now to think that it isn't fixed. Reason why I think that NASCAR isn't fixed is the fact that Jimmie Johnson keeps on winning. I don't know for sure that he is to blame for the decrease of NASCAR viewers, but I do think him winning all the time is partly to blame. Then again, I think NASCAR did it to themselves with the chase. This chase caters to JJ's driving style and ability. I heard if they were under the old point system, he'd only have two championships, not four. If it was under the old point system, Gordon would have six right now. Under the old point system the drivers had to work to earn each position to to get maximum points, under the chase system, it's all about the wins. As for JJ's personality...I wouldn't say he's boring. Not at all...but that is my opinion. But I do know people think of him as boring as they call him vanilla. People think his personality is boring because he doesn't get mad and upset, doesn't start fights, he doesn't get in trouble, doesn't loose his temper as some of those drivers do. If there is a problem, JJ talks about it calmly, doesn't go off and throw his helmet around or run other drivers off the track. JJ has over fifty wins and has won four secutive championships that he won by hard work. Which I think says a lot more for him than those drivers who run other drivers off the track in order to win the race. Have to admit, seeing Kyle Busch throw his HANS device at a driver's car or to see Robbie Gordon (NOT Jeff Gordon ) throw his helmet at Michael Waltrip's car during a caution does make it interesting and does add excitement to the race, but I would much rather JJ be like he is than to resort to that level in order to not be tagged as having a boring personality. Being a Jimmie Johnson fan (after Gordon, of course) I don't see him as being boring, but then again, I am biased in that opinion. I believe if NASCAR wants to attract more views back to the sport, they need to do some drastic changes to the chase in order to help the rest of the field gain some advantage over Jimmie Johnson who has the chase pegged pretty good if you ask me. Either change it or get rid of it all together. Would love for them to get rid of the chase and go back to the old point system...but don't think that would happen. Have heard NASCAR talking of changing the chase, but haven't heard of anything that is set in place for next year. Have heard a couple of rumors as to what may or could be done, but nothing official as of yet. Of course all of that is of my opinion. . .

*Garrett eyes his cousin seriously for a moment, half in thought of how he could crush Bo's pride in the race and half in thought of what how he should respond to his cousin's warm departure comments. After all the fights he finds himself in in her bar, of the trouble he creates for her family, she still remains to treat him nicely. Only for him to wonder why. Not that he means to shove family away or set out to create trouble, it just seems to happen for him for one reason or another. Supposedly it was his attitude according to his dad back in Knoxville or the Duke patriarch here in Hazzard. But whether they liked it or not, it was who he was and they could either accept him or not. It didn't bother him any way. Finally, Garrett nods at Daney. "Nite Daney," he forces a small smile at her before he shoves the door open and walks out into the chilly night and walks over to his motorcycle. Sitting on top of it and kicking back the kick stand, he begins to think of all the work that will need to be done on Spitting Cobra, his rebuilt Mustang, if he is to beat Bo or Luke and win the race. And since Bo or Luke wouldn't have the General Lee to race, it'd really show the lack of driving ability either one has without the help of their junk beloved race car. Only to send his thoughts racing of what he would do with the money he won in the race. Driving out of the parking lot of The Boar's Nest, Garrett begins his slow journey back home, in no hurry to get there, but having no where else to go, decides that he has little choice but to return home.

Here is the unofficial points as of 10-17-10: 1. Jimmie Johnson 2. Denny Hamlin (-41) 3. Kevin Harvick 4. Jeff Gordon 5. Kyle Busch 6. Tony Stewart 7. Carl Edwards 8. Greg Biffle 9. Kurt Busch 10. Jeff Burton 11. Matt Kenseth 12. Clint Bowyer 13. Jamie McMurray 14. Ryan Newman (-75 behind McMurray for 13th spot.) Kevin Harvick is 77 points behind Johnson while Gordon with his poor race Saturday night is now 156 points behind his team mate JJ. We have five races remaining of the season . With that said, I think that the fight for the championship is going to be between Jimmie Johnson, Denny Hamlin, and Kevin Harvick. They haven't came out and said that anyone is mathematically elliminated as of yet, but they are the closest together. Gordon, Kyle, and Stewart could possibly get it if they start winning the next few races and have solid finishes with Jimmie getting some bad luck. Am not giving up hope yet, but reality is slowly beginning to sink in after Saturday night...would wish Gordon get his fifth championship before JJ got his, but doesn't look like that is going to happen.

David Ragen Well, I did get to watch the last ninety laps of the race Saturday night afterall. Though, seeing how Gordon is my driver to watch, he was back in 24th spot when I turned it on and the driver I don't care too much for was leading the race, I figured I didn't miss much. Sounds like Tony Stewart had a rough day by the previews they showed with an on the track altercation and a couple of pit road accidents as well. Saw on NASCAR.com that Gordon got sent back a lap down when his electricity went out in the car and he had to switch batteries or something like that. Though it didn't help much with thirty laps to go, he got caught speeding on pit road...again. Two weeks in a row! He is generally good about not speeding on pit road so last week was surprising when he got caught. But two races in a row? Anyway, Kyle Busch led the most laps (the driver I don't care too much for) and with thirty or forty laps to go, Jamie McMurray passed him on the restart. Jamie McMurray won the race for the third race this season...(Daytona 500 and Brickyard 400 at Indy, and now Charolette.). Kyle Busch did finish second, but Jimmie Johnson gave him a good fight for it, but came in third. (Though Kyle Busch wasn't too happy with settling for second place.) If anyone has anything else to add, feel free to since I didn't see the whole thing or even most of it. . .

*Bo watches as Alice and Hard Luck Jones begin to walk away before glancing up at the sky and for the first time noticing that it is getting dark. Ignoring the constant throbbing in his head, he begins to think of the long night ahead of them. He may be tired, but he doubts that he'll ever be able to find sleep out in the middle of the swamp with that wild beast that nearly had him killed was running free and loose. But who was he to argue with Jesse? Sighing heavily, he painfully walks over and begins to help Jesse unload the tent and walkie talkie out of the bag and to put the tent up. After a moment, he glances up at Jesse and states, "Why you go send them away like that for? We could go elsewhere to sleep...like somewhere safe and where that thing won't eat us for a midnight snack. And come back out in the morning to look for that thing. Instead, you may just have signed our death sentence." Bo can't help himself but to complain of seeing what seems his only chance to survive the night to walk away as it had. Even if it had came in the form of Hard Luck Jones and Alice. They had to have been at least a little better than the beast. After his own run in with the beast only minutes ago, Bo cared very little to ever see that thing again. Especially being woken up by it in the middle of the night just before it was getting ready to eat them.*

*Bo jumps and bites his lower lip from yelling out in shock at the loud gun shot only to seemingly increase the pain within his head. Cussing at himself, he slowly glances around the rock he had hid himself behind to find the beast running the other way with Jesse at a distance with the rifle pointed up at the air. Sighing heavily, he turns back around and rests against the rock as he silently begins to struggle with an explaination that would satisfy his uncle and wouldn't upset him any more than he probably already was at him. After all, he put himself in danger as well as Alice and Jesse as well as the beast. He had been instructed to stay close and yet he wondered away. Once again, Bo jumps slightly as Jesse walks around the rocks and lets out a sigh of relief to see that it was Jesse and not the beast. A moment later a familiar voice calls out, "Is Bo OK?" Bo ignores the throbbing pain in his head to look around to see Alice running towards them with an older man, who from the distance only seems vaguely familiar. "Are you okay Bo. Are ya hurt very bad?" Jesse asks, concern thick in his voice, to grab Bo's attention back to him. Bo starts to nod only to come up short due the pain it inflicts. "Yeah. Other than this headache and a few cuts and bruises, I'll be fine," Bo forces out, feeling dumb to gather all this attention only for his own stupidity of walking around the swamp. A place he knew very little about. "I'm sorry Uncle Jesse. I didn't mean for all this to happen. I was just looking around and then he snorted and found him right in front of me. I musta scared him or something. Know he scared me!" Bo goes quiet for a brief moment. "I'm sorry, Uncle Jesse." He repeats as he attempts to stand up only for the pain in his leg to trip him back down. Once more Bo cusses in frustration and in embarrassment before he shakes Jesse's helpful hand away and grabs onto the stones to pull himself up, forcing himself to put pressure on the leg. "I'm fine, Jesse. Really." Bo takes a step away from Jesse without the help of the stone to feel the pain more tolerable than it had at first. Looking away from Jesse and back at Alice who is now a few feet away with the small older man. "Hard Luck Jones?" Bo exclaims, surprised at seeing the old moonshiner standing next to Alice. "What are you doing here?!"*

Ah the famous conspiracy theory...heard that one online before. Though I don't really quite buy it. If all Jimmie's mishaps and uncharacteristic mistakes he has made this season is of his own making, he was taking a huge risk. A risk that I don't think he'd think was worth making if you ask me. Anyone of those mistakes or mishaps could have costed him his chance at making it into the chase, which would erase any hope of getting a fifth championship. My opinion and I could be wrong about it. Guess he could have been holding back a little, but don't think all of it was on purpose. Though it is odd that he had did have those mishaps and uncharacteristic mistakes, though I doubt he'd do it on purpose. I could be wrong though...

Well this Saturday night the boys will be racing at Charolette under the lights! I know I say this with every night race, but I love night races...well I love them all (especially the ones that Gordon does well at!), but am always excited when they race at night for some reason. Something different I think. When I think of Charolette, I think of Jimmie Johnson. He excels at this track, though read a title somewhere stating he hasn't been the best in the fall races at this track as of late. But still a track I think of him being good at. Not that I really want him to win again...if Gordon is to take the lead, Gordon's going to have to start winning and Jimmie is going to have to have some uncharacteristic bad luck along the way. (Sorry Roger!) Not that I want JJ to have bad luck, because I do like him and he's my second favorite driver, but it is about time Gordon show everyone he's still capable of winning. And of course...that is all of my opinion that I should probably keep to myself. LOL. Though to give y'all a heads up, I am going to be out of town all this weekend at a conference so I will be missing this race. Am excited about the conerence, but hate the fact that I am going to miss a race, especially this race! I do plan on taping it, but knowing me, once I get home on Sunday I'll hop online to check and see where Gordon and Johnson finished out, who won, and where everyone is at in the points. Then I will probably not end up watching the recorded tape...that is how it goes. Then again, if Gordon ends up winning as I hope he does...I may be motivated to watch it! But for all of you lucky people that do get to and want to watch the race, it is Saturday night on ABC at 7:30 EST. Sorry to be a let down for the weekend since I probably won't have much to report back on other than what I read online and all (unless by chance I do watch it and that won't be until Monday night, if not then, then probably next Saturday. Busy week night schedule!) .
