Many younger Duke fans don't know about the 1981 "Dukes of Hazzard Soundtrack" but I'd like to explain the historical (or as Rosco would say "hysterical") significance this had on the show. This 8-track or cassette was the best connection us fans had with the Dukes except for Friday night . We played it over and over because there was no other way to hear a Dukes story being told and we were so thirsty for anything from Hazzard County (in addition to the "toys" that we owned and the pictures from magazines we cherished). We could hear the voices of many of the Hazzard folks on this audio gem and those voices were as important to us as the DVD's are now. This is a true cornerstone of Hazzard County and I can never hear enough of it. There's an old country song called "I watched it all on my radio" and this soundtrack is truly something that brought (and still brings) Hazzard County to life. I didn't just watch the Dukes on Friday, I could see them anytime I wanted with it. Whether it's the tribute to the General Lee by Johnny Cash, Boss's amazing narrating and singing skills, Waylon's extended theme song, Luke's "Cripple Creek" or Rosco singing about a man's best friend, this soundtrack has everything a Duke boy or girl of any age could want. Possum on a gumbush. I'm gone.

That is so awesome. I've only been with the Hazzardnet a few months so I'd like to post this question to our more senior members. Is this the first Hazard resident we've had that you know of? Living in Hazard must be pretty cool!!!....Even if they did spell it wrong. LOL Do you know how it got his name?

Does watching the Dukes affect your driving?
RogerDuke replied to Luke's Babe's topic in General Discussion
Well, you said you'll take anybody's thoughts so here's mine...."BE CAREFUL". The Dukes is such a fun show to love that's it's easy to pretend that you're really in Hazzard County. I know I used to struggle with "DDS" but speaking as an old ridge runner who has seen too many good folks die in accidents, I can tell you that you really need to know what you're doing and even then, there are no gaurantees. My best friend (who was also my cousin) was killed in 1979, coincidently right after the show first came out. Thank God, his accident wasn't influenced by television or movies but things like that can happen. Imagine Bo dying in an accident and how much Luke would hurt the rest of his life. Since you're young, you would hurt lots of people forever if you don't play it smart. If any of you other Hazzardites are home on this Hazzardnet, please join me in encouraging this youngster to play it safe. I'm gone. -
"Hazzard County is the only place that I know of that needs an air traffic controller for cars" from "Farewell Hazzard"
-
You're right Bo, that is from "Farewell Hazzard." It is the next to last episode in season 5. I suppose that it's possible that Jesse was married twice. One thing that I like about these controversies...each person can draw their own conclusion and nobody's officially wrong. My (fantasy) belief is that her name was Martha Lavinia Duke and Uncle Jesse occasionally called her by her middle name. I'm gone.

Hey luke fan07, I've been holding back but I can't resist anymore. I know people ain't supposed to give away too much personal information on these here complex, confounded, complicated, computer contraptions, but I just can't stand not knowing this....Are you really from there?

Here's an interesting trivia fact from "The Treasure of Soggy Marsh".....The Dukes phone number is "Hazzard 587" My CB's busted so I'm going to call them on the land line now because I need help with this trivia thread. Possum on a gumbush. I'm gone.- 3,832 replies

I can't seem to locate the thread, but recently a few of us had a discussion on where the closest hospital to Hazzard is. In "Comrade Duke" there IS a Hazzard Hospital. The 2 signs for it are only shown briefly so pressing pause is a good idea to catch it. I should say "to catch one of them" since the second sign is barely visible at all. The street is not given but the street number is 1312. I think this is overlooked for two reasons. 1) Of course because the signs appears so briefly. 2) This is a season 5 episode that has Coy and Vance and those episodes haven't been rewatched as often. Possum on a gumbush. I'm gone.

I checked that out and couldn't tell. It almost looked like holly (if we were looking at the same one) but of course, stuff in California can be much different than my neck of the woods in Pennsylvania.

You got two of my questions right Julie. Boss's Big Daddy came to town and Waylon called an old pick-up truck a "Country Cadillac" Hey Min, here's some additions to Julie's answers. From "Repo Men" #4 is that they shot the tires with arrows. #6 is the Hazzard Ladies Auxilary and Julie missed #8, it should be Doberman. From "High Octane" #9) the General's plate is CNH 320 #10) the prize was $20,000 #12) the Dukes report monthly #14) the moonshine got dumped after she passed out I got agent Huntley's first named on the tip of my keyboard--UGH!!- 3,832 replies

I agree MaryAnne. He wasn't on his best Duke Boy behavior. You have to remember though, this was only his second episode in California. Maybe his head wasn't in the right place.......jet lag and all. LOL. Good thing you can't get jet lag flying a car. -

Right as usual MinDuke. Here's 3 from "Dukes Strike it Rich" easy) Did the Dukes pretend to strike it rich with gold or oil? medium) Who pretended to be the Dukes chauffer? tough) The actor John Wheeler is the County assayer. What business in Hazzard does he own? Here's a Waylon qoute from that episode "Ya know, just when ya think ya got things under control in Hazzard, ya run into a natural Hazzard Hazzard."- 3,832 replies

In case anybody is depending on closed-captioning to give you information on Dukes trivia, be careful of how much you can trust the spelling. For example, on "Enos in Trouble" (DVD) they spell Meadowmuffin, metal muffin (our Supreme Superior Commander is going to be furious) and in the same episode when Enos mentions his Uncle Odie they spell it Uncle Putney. How they got that far away from the actual word, I'll never know. Incidently, here's a little bit of Hazzard trivia that Sonny Shroyer told me personally.....Odie is his real-life father's name. He revealed that to me when I told him that I had a great-Uncle Odie and thought it was neat that Enos had one. Possum on a gumbush. Here's another one from "The Revenge of Hughie Hogg". Waylon was saying that in most places the only two things certain were death and taxes but (the two things in Hazzard were) "the Dukes being chased by Sheriff Rosco's one"..... The closed caption wrote "The Duke's being chased by Sheriff Rosco's warrent."

Wow Bo, that's a good one. The only one I can think of is "Baa Baa White Sheep" when Bo was with the Marine Corps Reserves. Hey MinDuke, I posted two different episodes on July 4, "Lawman of the Year" and "Dukes in Danger". (I was off work so had a little time on my hands)- 3,832 replies

Hey Bo, For all we know, John checks the Hazzardnet every day. You never can tell. Remember that in addition to being an actor, he really is a genuine fan of the show so he might be on here a lot. In fact, he could be one of us pretending to be a regular fan. -

Hey katz112, I got a good laugh out of that one. Sometimes it's funny how the same thing can have two different meanings. My favorite is this one that's been around for a long time. "They can't fire me. I'm not doing anything."
-
In "R.I.P. Henry Flatt" Jesse rides Maudeen the mule. I know it's not quite the same but I like it!!! LOL
-
His last name on the show is Moffitt. I think his first name might be Randy but I'm not sure. As I recall, he lives in Hazzard County but because of roads being closed you have to take a detour that takes you into another county to get to his house. Of course, that violates the boys' probation. I'm gone.

Hi Daisy Mae, Welcome to the Hazzardnet. If you love Hazzard County you'll love it here. This Hazzardnet is awesome!!!!

After reading another thread asking if you've ever cried during an episode, I am motivated to ask this question. If you could pick a single scene that put you in Hazzard Heaven, what would it be? I considered the opening scene from season one, episode one. I also thought of the time that the Dukes accepted Boss into their home at the end of "The Great Santa Claus Chase" but my favorite Hazzard Heaven moment came when the boys walked in the door of the Boar's Nest in "Welcome Back Bo 'n Luke". I'm smiling from ear to ear right now just thinking about it.
