  1. The Legacy.....season 3 After rescuing a lady in a red convertible who's brakes went out coming down a mountain, the 3 Duke men find out that it is Uncle Jesse's first girlfriend, Lucinda Meadows. He had been in competition with Boss over her but she ended up marrying Cyrus Meadows instead. In the next scene Boss made Cletus temporary Sheriff and Wilbur Fudge temporary Deputy since Rosco and Flash were at obedience training, to which Cletus responded to Boss "But Rosco doesn't need obedience training. He comes whenever you call". Lucinda shows Boss an IOU from June 4, 1940 that proves Boss owes Cyrus ( and her) 5000 dollars but of course he says he's not giving it to her. When Lucinda and the Dukes figure out that Cyrus hid 9 barrels of moonshine In the Rainbow Mine under their property they figure out it's worthless because Cyrus was a bad moonshiner. Lucinda then takes a sample of Jesse's shine to Boss and offers to sell him 9 barrels of it. Thinking she really did have that much good shine Boss made a deal with Mean Joe Hatcher. Cletus put a tracking device in Jesse's truck so they caught the Duke boys right after they loaded the 9 barrels but Hatcher stole it. The evidence got destroyed when Hatcher and his partner dumped it to keep from getting caught.....which didn't work since they got caught. -- I wish we would have seen Lucinda in a future episode. I loved it when she was sitting with Jesse on the front porch under a full moon. -- This was the second episode in a row where Luke pushed Boss over to save his life. This time Hatcher was going to run him over. --Jesse mentions his wife Martha...also known as Lavinia in another episode. Maybe one was a middle name or nickname. --classic scene where a patrol car gets sawed down the middle in the sawmill. Wilbur "did you hear a funny noise?" -- When Cletus asked for a sip of shine to toast the old days Boss said "Cletus, you weren't around in the old days and I ain't too pleased to have you around in the new days neither" --My favorite line in the whole series is by Lucinda "Well, I put myself in the hands of the Lord and He put me in the hands of the Dukes and I guess maybe you couldn't get a better combination than that" --One of my favorite episodes!
  2. I just got done watching one of the 3 celebrity Family Feuds the Dukes were on. My wife got it on You Tube. The Dukes beat the Walton's and won for Special Olympics after Daisy got 192 points and Luke easily finished the job. Also on the team were Jesse, Rosco and Boss. Sorrell's normal voice sounded so unusual. They also played against the cast of a show called Angie. In another one, no top level actors played. They were going up against The Jefferson's and had Cletus, Lulu, Hughie, Mabel Tillingham and Jeb Stuart Duke. When Jeb explained that he was a new Duke Richard Dawson asked him how long he's been on the show and he said "one week".
  3. ROFL.....hey, if you can name a car you can name a suitcase......says the guy who never claimed to be a professional writer....I'm still ROFL
  4. State of the County.....season 3 Daisy picks up a handsome hitchiker from Texas with a real heavy suitcase named Earl Beckett and convinces Cooter to give him a part time job and let him stay in the upstairs of Cooter's garage. Boss JW Hickman of Claredge County and his henchman come to Hazzard with an annual offer to buy all Boss's crooked businesses....or else. When Boss refuses, Hickman's hired man Earl sets a bomb off in the Boar's Nest. Thankfully nobody got hurt. Then Earl set a bomb off in a van and Rosco threw the Duke boys in jail for it and they start to suspect it's Earl and tell Daisy. She gets pretty mad but then goes to Earl's place and finds guns and bombs but he catches her. The Dukes get out of jail and Daisy yells that there is a bomb in the gazebo where Boss is about to give his State of the County speech. Luke saves Boss and Rosco just before it explodes. Earl kidnaps Daisy and heads out of town but she outwits him and captures him with the boys coming in to finish the job. Earl, Hickman and his henchman all wind up in the Hazzard Jail. The Oak Ridge Boys got caught by Rosco doing 36 in a 35mph zone and sing Leaving Louisiana in the Broad Daylight. One of them wanted to know if there was any way they could get through Hazzard without being stopped and Daisy responded "Not as long as you can sing that good, honey"
  5. It's not too often that I find something that eagle eyed Hoss missed.
  6. ........although I can think of a lot worse things that it could be
  7. You're right. The worst part is that Daisy is blocking the view of the flag she painted on "Happy Birthday General Lee"
  8. The world has really gone insane and I come to Hazzard County because it is the only sane place left on Earth....which is why I'm going to start making a better effort to stop posting about the insane world and keep my thoughts in Hazzard.
  9. I didn't see anything I havent seen before. I'm going through something called the Messier list, named after a 1700s French comet hunter. It is a list of the best 110 objects in the sky that are outside of the solar system. I've completed the list twice before but decided to do it again just for fun. I've observed 87 of the 110 since Jan 1. The toughest ones to get are the galaxies in the Virgo Cluster but I've already got those. They built a prison 4 miles from me probably 25 years ago so sometimes in that direction I get the same effect you do with the reflection but for me it's only in part of the sky. It really doesn't hurt my astronomy though since I'm not observing when there are clouds.
  10. Right after I typed that response I looked closer. Isn't the passenger side door open? What is that chrome strip on top of it?
  11. LOL The only thing worse than a General without an 01 on the door would be opening the door.
  12. Too cloudy for astronomy. I'll probably have trouble sleeping since I slept most of the day. Maybe it's time to pop an episode in.
  13. It will also be interesting to see how much the flag controversy hurts them the next few weeks. Southern folks are loyal to racing but they are even more loyal to their heritage and get upset when uninformed people think they love their flag because of slavery.
  14. I'm allergic to cats so according to politically correct rules that makes you an intolerant hateful person. Your insensitive shirt also doesn't consider the feelings of dog owners so I'm proposing that it be banned. Anybody who doesn't agree with me is evil. Anybody who think that I'm wrong for labeling those people as evil is evil.
  15. I pulled an all-nighter last night doing astronomy and slept most of the day today. I'm hoping for another all-nighter but some clouds are moving in....pretty thin though so I'm not too worried. I'm watching live Supercross dirt bikes right now. They wrap their season up on Sunday.
  16. proposal
  17. I hope ya had a great birthday yesterday Waylon. It was my grandson's birthday too so I was thinking of ya all day.
  18. Just got back from 3 days in northern Virginia at our daughter's house to celebrate our grandson's birthday. I'm not big on traveling so it's good to be home.
  19. expensive
  20. Thanks for the update Spike!
  21. And after that is the infamous Buttermilk 4.00. I wonder if anybody will make it around the barn all 4 laps this year.
  22. He must be getting sentimental because he just turned 60 two months ago.
  23. lazy.....(as in lazy Susan)
  24. Good Neighbors, Duke....season 3 Josiah Benson and his daughter move into the old Gaylord farm in Hazzard. They are in the witness protection program after he testified against a mob Boss. To protect his identity Josiah is now known as Adam Venable and his daughter, Ester. Boss had been planning on buying that farm to build Hogg Heights Condominiums and was mad the Venable's got it. Two bad guys had been spying on the Venables after suspecting Adam was really Josiah and they put a bug in their living room and found out they were right. 2 million dollars in uncut diamonds of ransom was lost by the mob boss and the bad guys thought Josiah (Adam) had them but he didn't. The Duke boys found out about Josiah's past after checking old newspapers. When the Venables decided to leave town they left a briefcase of family pictures and heirlooms with the Dukes for safekeeping but when Daisy had it the bad guys went after her, thinking the diamonds were in it. Thanks to the boys Daisy got away. While this was going on Boss and Rosco were searching for uranium that the bad guys tricked them into thinking was in Hazzard. Eventually the Venables, with the help on the Dukes faked their death in a car explosion off a cliff so the bad guys would stop bothering them and Rosco and Boss struck much needed water on the Venable farm in their uranium search. --Hoyt Axton sings his cop in a little bitty town song in the end. --The episode starts out with Bo and Luke singing the song from Hee Haw...'where oh where are you tonight? Why did you leave me here all alone? I searched....." --When Boss explained a geiger counter to Rosco he asked Boss "How many geigers we gonna have to count?" Boss said to Rosco, after mentioning uranium "if your cranium had a brainium" -- Condominiums? In another episode they were Hoggominiums as I recall.
  25. The Great Santa Claus Chase....season 3 Bo and Luke are hauling Christmas trees into Hazzard with a big orange truck (of course it's orange) when they get hijacked and tied up along the road. A bad guy dressed as a preacher helps them but later sets them up to make it look like they stole the trees and pocketed the $500 from selling them...... but Boss was behind the scheme and had 2 other bad guys paint the truck. The preacher sees Boss's safe and conspires with the other 2 guys to steal from it. The townsfolk slowly start to suspect that Bo and Luke might be guilty. Boss starts selling the trees in the freshly painted truck but the boys, after getting bailed out, see a ribbon Luke tied on one of them and realize they are the same trees and truck. The Dukes almost get Boss to change his mind when they run a Dicken's Christmas Carol shuck and jive on the CB when Boss is half asleep for his 4:30 nap but Cooter breaks in and ruins the plan. Bo, Luke and Cooter dress up like Santa Clauses and steal the truck back and start delivering the trees while the 3 bad guys dress up like Santas too and lock up Jesse and Daisy and steal the money from Boss's safe. They all meet up in a near 7 vehicle and 6 Santa collision at Indian Road and Bear Hollow Junction where everything gets sorted out and the 3 bad guys get arrested. In the final scene, the 4 Dukes, Rosco, Cooter, Cletus and Flash are celebrating Christmas Eve at the Duke farm when Boss comes to visit, carrying an armload of presents after being reformed by reading Little Jimmie Dickson's Christmas Carol. After hearing bells Jesse asked the boys if they put them on Maudeen. Of course we know who it really was. --The final scene is the one I love the most in the whole series. What I wouldn't give to have been there. I love Christmas. --Sitting alone in the Boar's Nest Boss after reading A Christmas Carol Waylon said "And with Lulu away, 'ol Boss was as lonely as 'ol Waylon at the Country Music Association Awards"...LOL...It was no secret that the CMA thought Waylon was too much of an outlaw at the time to get awards. Times sure have changed. He's an icon now.
